Hello, it's been a year since I acquired a twist of the penis, where the right side of my erect member is higher than the left. It twists so that it slopes to the left. This presented about a week after a sex accident where the girl was on top and landed at the wrong angle.

At the time, I started reading this forum, concerned that I'd gotten Peyronie's. It took a few months to get an appointment with the urologist, who cleared me of Peyronie's. I asked to get an ultrasound, which came back clean.

The urologist agreed that the twist was the result of trauma from the accident, but basically said I would have to live with it.

I then went online to the various PE websites, and found a thread that said that the suspensory ligaments could be out of balance, and stretching the "tight" or "short" side could help straighten it out. Tonight I found a pubmed study of penile suspensory ligament abnormalities. I looks like surgery can correct it. https://www.unboundmedicine.com/medline/citation/17227497/The_penile_suspensory_ligament:_abnormalities_and_repair_

I am writing with the hope that someone might know something. I would have to pay out of pocket to see another urologist, and after calling a few, it looks like 300-800 for a consultation. I am in New York City, if anyone has any ideas for who might have some answers for me.

I was set to start hanging weights using a vacuum hanging device, but now I'm not really sure what to do. Fortunately, my erection quality is very good, and there has never been any pain, even when the accident happened.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the forums. All you have is a twist? No pain, no curvature? How painful was the accident? I assume a penile suspensory ligament tear or something of that sort would've been quite painful.

I have a twist/torsion at the base, but it's from Peyronie's. Some people with hard flaccid have slight torsion as well I believe. I personally wouldn't really try to do anything those guys on PE suggest. I'd suggest to see a urologist and get a definitive diagnosis first. Perhaps get an MRI or a CT scan.

Hi, thanks a lot for replying. I just spent a long time reading these forums and learned a few things. First, that my idea to pay out of pocket for a urologist is probably not worth it, unless I pay the big bucks to see a top guy. From my research today, it looks like suspensory ligament injuries happen, and they don't necessarily involve any tearing. I didn't feel any pain when the accident happened, and likely the fact that my erection was very strong saved me from a worse situation. I just found this post earlier: https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,6730.msg69785.html#msg69785.

The uro I met said that surgery wasn't a good idea, so really there is nothing left apart from stretching the ligaments. The best way to do that is hanging weights. The protocol for this is to start very low and increase over time. Some people do manual stretching, but it's hard to measure the force used, so weights are better I think. I've been mulling this over for the past 6 months and will continue reading the forums to gain more knowledge. I believe that the trauma from the accident caused one side to contract or tighten. I'd love to see a doctor to get an opinion, but I'm afraid to waste my money. The one I saw through my insurance had no idea, and I suspect most urologists will say the same thing.

I know that PE isn't the safest thing, but it's all I've got at this point. I've been using penis pumps for a while, and never had a problem. I don't know if it's going to work, but one guy on the forum said that he read about someone inadvertently correcting his twist by hanging I thought of using a traction device, but I think that helps a curve or bend, and doesn't stretch the ligaments, just the tissues.

After all the searching I've done, I've yet to find an account of someone with the same problem that was able to find a solution. So, I guess that's why I've spent the past year doing nothing but occasionally searching online. I do find sex to be less pleasurable due to the direction the glans is pointing, along with the leftward curve. I don't even know what impact it has on the woman.

I still think it's best to get a definitive diagnosis before doing any of these hanging weight exercises. You could cause even more damage for a condition you might not even be sure you have. There are plenty of guys here with torsion who don't have a torn suspensory ligament.

Why not go through insurance like you did the first time and ask for the tests? Getting scans will be real expensive without it. I feel that getting a definitive diagnosis first before doing anything, is logically the best way to go about it.

If going to a urologist and getting those tests are just not possible, I would certainly try traction and VED first before those hanging weights. I've read too many stories about people injuring themselves from it.

hi, thanks again. I'm afraid my insurance isn't very good, so it might be an issue to get a scan paid for since I've already done an ultrasound and found no scarring. So they will say that since I'm not suffering from a real ailment, it's not something that can be done. But I am curious if ligament injuries can be detected with scans. I agree with you that it's best to diagnose it properly before treating it. That's why I've haven't done anything about it yet. I'm basically proceeding from a hunch that the ligaments were affected by the accident and the only way to correct the imbalance it to stretch the penis in a way that targets the ligaments. I had looked into restorex, and I just don't want to pay $500 for something that stretches the tissues. If I press down hard on the top right side at the base of my erect penis, it will go back to straight. I don't think the traction can fix that. I have been using penis pumps since January, just a regular vacuum pump. I've looked at VED but I don't really understand the difference.

I will send a message to the urologist though the online portal to see if a scan can be done. I think you are right that I need to explore that first, even though it's unlikely to work. My other idea, which I found on here, is to meet with someone who performs surgery on trans. Maybe I will find someone like this instead of paying to meet another urologist.

From what I've read about hanging, it looks like the injuries happen most often with guys that are getting into heavy weights. I'm not too crazy about the idea, but my plan is to take my time and do it as safely as possible. I'm not tying to lengthen my penis, just straighten it. So I'll probably stick to the lower weights, with a vacuum cup. I'm less concerned about injury than spending the money on a device and wasting a lot of time. However, it looks like I can use a pulley under my desk and do it while I work, which is good.

A year ago I was convinced I had Peyronie's and went on here to read. I think this forum is really great. There are a lot of men feeling a lot of stress and confusion and I think it's amazing that there are men out there willing to write back and offer help and advice. It's really unfortunate that there seem to be so many conditions affecting the penis that cannot be explained or treated, including peyronie's.

Unfortunate situation with your insurance. Those hanging weight exercises are something I'd never try for my torsion. Penis pumps/VEDs are the same to my knowledge, unless I'm missing something. Best of luck with your situation, keep us updated.

And yeah, this forum is great. Unfortunately this disease is underfunded and under researched. I'm praying for some new advances that tackle the anti fibrosis... hopefully sooner than later.
