Had Placation done two years ago for a left hand turn.  It was good for about 9 months then started to go north a little.  Well now, two years later it is 45 degrees upward one inch out.  I went back to the Dr. and the nurse told me I am the first one to come back after a placation.  The Dr. did the ultrasound and found more Peyronies. He thought at first i blew a stich. So now he wants to put me on Pentoxifylline 400 EX  and a traction for 4 months.  He feels if he does another placation now, he will shorten me too much.   My wife and I have discussed the issue. I am 69 years old.  We have had a good sex life, and we can satisfy each other in other ways.  I will miss the intercourse.  I am willing to try the traction and the pill, but i wonder will the pill make me sick.  I hate side effects that make me naushas.(SP).  Has anyone else had two placations.  Am I done for life?
Thank you for this support group.

Frankly, your Urologist sounds pretty "with it" in terms of Peyronie's, suggesting Pentox and traction.

I would not worry too much about Pentox, just take it with meals to minimize any stomach upset. You can give it a try - nothing lost, nothing gained. Start with one a day and work up to three. If it does make your stomach upset (after giving it a week or so) just drop it - it's not been conclusively proven to be effective, it's just seems like it should help inhibit fibrosis.

Sounds like you have a good Uro and some reasonable options to pursue if you wish.

68andbent, your sex life is not over. There is a way to straighten your penis without plication. At 68, I'm assuming you have some erection problems as well... in that case a penile ima t will make you straight as an arrow as well as on demand erections for however long.

thank you both for your replys. Gaussrifle, what is an ima t proceedure... I will say I do feel my Dr. is very causious and not surgery crazy.  If i use this traction thing...does it give back some lenght? And how long do you have to use it?

I meant penile implant. As you may already know it is an implant they put in your penis forever. There is no going back from it. But many members on this forum have had it and are super happy, including the administrator and founder of this forum, Hawk. At 68 I feel you should have to deal with years of traction or unnecessary plication surgery.

Penile traction with a device for 1 hour everyday for a period of 6 months will make you longer and reduce curvature, it won't eliminate it though and you need to be very consistent and do it everyday. You should start with it, even if you decide to go surgical route like plication or implant as it will regain size.

I think that is his goal, between the medication and traction, he will give me length, then be able to do placation.  I do not know how the implant works.. is there a video or website i can go to to see how that works.... how do you inflate and deflate?  Do you get the same feeling on the sides and tip?
The traction device he has recommended for me is to use flacid and it is the one at www.andropeyronie.com.  Does it matter which one.  I see there are others out there.  Mentally this is killing me too, like probably all on this board.  No one told me at 20 years of age this was even a possibility let alone women getting all dried up as they age.  Sex education is really not up to what can really happen to you as you get older :>)
