Hello everyone. I hope you all are doing well. I feel like my story will be a bit graphic and all over the place so I apologize.

I have struggled with ED for many years after what I remember to be a result of excessive masturbation that caused damage to my penis that happened around 2007. I was much younger at the time (I was 13 at the time), and didn't seek help until now that I'm older (I am 26 now). I didn't know how to handle it as I remember my penis turning purple and was very swollen the next day. It was very long ago, and I don't remember if I heard a "popping" noise or not, but part of me believes that I did. I just remember not knowing how to tell my parents and I never did. I just thought it would heal on its own, which it did. I was so young at the time and I had no idea how to deal with the problem so I just thought not dealing with it head on was the best option. I have struggled with ED ever since, and can not get a natural erection unless I masturbate. My penis now (when I am able to get it hard) is positioned at a what I think to be a 10 to 20 degree angle if I lay on my back. I haven't had sex in awhile, and I was only able to have sex and get my penis hard when I physically rubbed it but my penis would not stay hard when I would try to put a condom on or try to penetrate. I've never been able to have sex with a full erection.

Fast forward to the past couple of years, before COVID I finally decided it was time to seek out help. All of these issues have greatly effected my dating life. I have incredibly low self esteem that I stemmed from my other mental health issues that I've struggled with, but now looking inward I believe that my erectile dysfunction has been the main source of me not feeling "manly" enough to date women, as well as just "not manly" in general. I have not had a sexual partner since 2017 due to the ED. My urologist has prescribed me 5 MG of tadalafil and it has worked tremendously in keeping an erection for me. However, I have noticed that if I don't use it daily and have it for more than a month, it seems like the meds start to not work as effectively. After describing how my penis looks when it is erect, my doc diagnosed me with "Peyronies". I am a bit uneducated on anything that has to do with the disease, and I am unsure if I should seek other treatment options for how my penis is at the angle it is. I do not have painful erections, however, I am unable to push my penis to a 90 degree angle without feeling an "uncomfortable" feeling - not necessarily pain, but just a weird sensation. It has made me fearful of trying to have sex unless it's in a certain position. My urologist has suggested that I tore something along the lines of "dorsel" - again, I am not very educated on anything that has to do with peyronies, so I am unsure of the muscle names within the penis etc. With that being said, I hope I can find the confidence to start dating again, especially now that the world has somewhat progressed to back to "normal".

Something else to note is that I have suffered from high blood pressure since I was in high school (it stems from my father's side of the family), but I recently started medication for that as well using linsopril. The best part about that med is that it's an ace inhibitor and does not cause ED, which is why I went with that one. I did take adderall and concerta in my life, and have believed that those meds have caused my high blood pressure but also potentially ED in me. I am not sure if the linsopril will help heal my damaged veins from the high blood pressure, but I hope it does! I am currently off both adderall and concerta as they had way too many side effects attached to them, regardless if they got the job done for my ADD.

If any of you have any suggestions of any sort, please let me know! I did notice a device recently that helps with the curvature of the penis for people with peyronies - do those actually work? I am afraid of hurting myself further.

Hey man! Welcome to the forum❣️

Please read through our Survival Guide as it has a ton of useful information about this condition -  https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php?topic=3180.0

Could you describe the deformity you have? Is the actual penis shaft bent upward, left, right, or down? You mentioned its 10-20 degrees, but some more details would be helpful.

You also mentioned that your doctor diagnosed you with Peyronie's Disease based on a description. Did he feel plaque in your penis? Did he do an ultrasound? Did you show him pictures of your erection? Was he a Peyronie's Disease specialist?

You mentioned not being able to "push" your erection angle down. Some men have tighter ligaments at the base of the penis, but it generally lowers with age over time. Look at this site: https://www.menshealthhandbook.org/erection-pointing-up-down. How many degrees can you comfortably push it to and have sex with?

It seems as though your deformity is not your chief complaint but Erectile Dysfunction is. Do you get consistent morning erections? Have you checked your testosterone levels? You might consider doing a Doppler ultrasound which will both look for Peyronie's Disease plaque and measure your bloodflow to see if there is any Erectile Dysfunction issues due to bloodflow.

5mg tadalafil is typically supposed to be taken daily. If this works for you, you should definitely start taking 5mg tadalafil daily and continue your sex life! 💕
If you take it daily, you'll always have ~7.5mg in your body which gives you a normal, spontaneous sex life.

Hi firewalkwithme,

Sorry you have had to join us here, but thank you for doing so all the same!

We need Men with this condition to step up, join this forum and speak out about this problem.

We need to let the medical community know, WE EXIST, we demand a treatment! (and we're willing to pay for it  ;D)

There's enough of us suffering with this that it is worth the medical communities time and investment to find a cure.

Your story and cause sound very similar to mine.

I'm sure we will be seeing more young men like ourselves fall victim to this absurd condition over the next decade, what with the abundance of "free" pornography on the internet now shoved into our faces everywhere we click.....

Hey there!

I will read through that post right now! Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
To answer your questions:

I checked the chart for the degree angle, and I actually probably have around a 25-30 degree angle when my penis is erect. However, I just checked now and I noticed that it bends sort of to the left when I lay down and look at it. When laying down on my back it looks like it's more of a 20 degree angle when erect. I'm not entirely sure if that fully qualifies as "Peyronies", but looking at that chart it shows that a small population have 30 degrees or lower, so I find that it might be due to the excessive masturbating/trauma to it when I hurt it many years ago.

My urologist did check to see if there was any pain in certain parts of my penis. He sort of like forced his finger onto certain areas to feel for the plaque I believe. He didn't find anything unusual so he did not recommend the ultrasound. However, I did mention how I would like to have that procedure done just out of curiosity. My next appointment isn't for another few months to check with how I am doing on the Tadalafil meds, so I will bring it up then. Maybe there is a plaque build up in my penis that I don't know about? I'm not entirely sure.. is it more noticeable than one would think? Do you always have to feel pain? I didn't show him pictures of my erect penis, however, I just described to him the angle of what it seems like. Maybe next time I'll show him pictures of it so he can see for himself and determine if it's peyronies or not.

Last night I tried masturbating to see how "far" I can firmly push it without pain. I was actually able to push it to a 90 degree angle and - I apologize for the graphicness - pretend to penetrate a vagina with my hand by flipping my right side hand side over facing me - It didn't hurt at all. After reading through some users' posts on here, I have found that I have masturbated and ejaculated without being hard MANY times before. This was the usual case before I went on the Tadalafil as I've had ED. I wonder if this has caused more issues for me down the line. I will be more calmer with my masturbating from now on and do what I did before last night to see if it makes a difference. I have noticed that I experience pre-mature ejaculation too, I wonder if this would help as well.

Thank you for the encouraging words though - it means so much! I've suffered from this for MANY years in silence and shame. Being a part of this community definitely helps a ton. I am considering starting sex therapy as well to help me move forward with my sex life also. I have missed out on a few opportunities because of my low confidence from this disease / ED.

Hey acute! I totally agree with all of your statements above. I have read up on the effects of pornography on the penis and how much it can cause ED in men. I forget what it is called, but I know that taking some time away from looking at it can help it out a ton. I know when I go to Maine for 2 weeks every year with my family without looking at porn or masturbating, I definitely feel like my libido increases, as well as erections, feel a bit more firm overall.

Thank you for welcoming me here! Like I stated in my other reply, it feels so comforting to be a part of this community. I have suffered for so long from these issues and I feel a lot more ease just being here for a day! I agree, it's insane how much there isn't out there about this disease. I became so depressed many years ago when I felt like my sex life was over, especially dealing with this at such a young impressionable age. My sex life has been greatly impacted from this, and I lack a ton of confidence to date. I hope I can get that confidence back and get my life back on track!
