Potential dangers of pre-made DMSO prescription from doc

I was prescribed a DMSO mix from my urologist a while ago and used it for a few weeks. I saw decent improvement but I stopped using it because I became very concerned of the ingredients in the mixture. The mixture is composed of: lugols solution (2.5%) 6 Ml, vitamin E 1.8 Ml, DMSO 12 ml, and versabase 40.2 ML. What concerned me is the versabase which has a lot of chemicals that seem very dangerous if they were to enter the bloodstream. I looked up what the ingredients of versabase is and they are as follows: aloe Vera juice, Cyclopentasiloxane, Disodium EDTA, Emulsifying Wax, ethylhexyl stearate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Sorbitol, Tocopheryl Acetate and water.

Most of, if not all of these ingredients have a molar mass less than 1000, and DMSO transfers anything into the body with a molar mass less than 1000 if I'm not mistaken. Also a lot of these ingredients have toxic properties when looked up online.

Did I basically put a bunch of gnarly chemicals into my body and bloodstream by using this mixture from my doc? Did these chemicals really enter my body or would the body block these from entering?

I did get occasional headaches from using the mixture, and I developed muscle twitches a little while after I stopped usage that span across my whole body, which I've had for over a year, but I have no proof if they are related.

I know that you guys aren't doctors but I would appreciate any advice or info nevertheless. Thank you

I'm surprised to hear there is any urologist out there today trying something innovative involving DMSO. Most are woefully ignorant and unwilling to try anything except wait and see.

Just talk with your Uro about your concerns. If he came up with this mixture, I'm sure it's something he's thought about.

It would be a good conversation to have. And keep us posted on your findings and how you're doing.

I asked him about it and he said that it wouldn't enter the body but that he's no professional on the matter. It wasn't that convincing to me to be honest. If the chemicals in versabase have a molar mass small enough that DMSO can take it into the body, which to my knowledge they do, then how could he be correct and confident in saying that the chemicals didn't enter my body?

I would like to call him up and have a longer conversation with him about it but he moved away to a different location from where I am currently. I can try and contact him again. I called the Pharmacy that made the mixture and asked if it was safe. They basically said that they had to make the prescription exactly as my doctor ordered (kinda implying that if it's not safe, it's his fault for not researching it) and that the versabase is used for topical uses (not made to be used with DMSO or carried into the body). Basically, there was no concrete evidence from my doc nor the pharmacy that is is safe to use.

In the meantime, if anyone has any info that could confirm or deny my docs claim, I'd love to hear it.

So, is this your doctor's own personal concoction he came up with? Or did he get the recipe from some other source?

I'm curious, but also agree with your desire to be cautious.

I think it's his own concoction but I could be completely wrong. I have no evidence that it's his own concoction, I just assume it is because not many urologists give DMSO the time of day let alone actually prescribe it. I've also never heard of versabase being used with DMSO. I'd have to ask him if I can contact him.
