To fap or not to fap, to have sex or not?

Hi all,

Sorry for repeating myself, several of you have already answered this question either through PM, or on the forum, but I need more opinions.
Currently on vacation with my beautiful wife, butnon day 10 of penis pain. So I don't dare even try to have sex with her. I also don't dare to fap, just take my painkillers and Cialis and live in a status quo.
From what I can tell, either I have Peyronies and should have sex, or I have a penis fracture and should not move too much... Two separate urologists couldn't find any plaques, but one still diagnosed me with Peyronies and told me to have sex while covering the pain with painkillers, which is complete nonsense to me.

What am I supposed to do? What did you do when diagnosed? Any ideas? Thank you for any opinions.

P.S. I caught a NTE, without pain, but I was lying down. I'm sure of I got up or tried to fap it would hurt.
Male, 33, recentl diagnosed, still very confused. Taking painkillers and Cialis for condition, so far no dice. Married, no kids, suffering from MS and ED already before. Currently waiting for control to see what happens next.

Unforunately there's no golden rule for what to do here. Some men who finds that the pain increases with sex/masturbation refrain from it. Others with minimal pain continue their sex life. Some will cut out masturbation, but continue having sex.

I think most of us will agree that gentle sex or masturbation that doesn't cause an increase in pain is fine. Just make sure you have the strongest erection as possible (take Erectile Dysfunction meds as necessary) and of course feel free to take anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen to help manage the pain. If sex/masturbation increases pain, it's best to refrain from all sexual activity until it subsides.

As far as penile fracture, without a severe traumatic event with swelling or 'pop' sound or pain, etc., it is not likely that you have fractured your penis.

Thank you very much, benray. Your posts make a lot of sense.
I guess I will try to have sex in a gentle way, provided I get the proper erection.
Yeah, doctor no2 said that it isn't a penis fracture since there is no discoloration, and yeah, I didn't hear a popping sound, but I know there can be damage without the popping sound sometimes.
I will try, I owe it to my wife, and to myself. But it's so hard to will myself into trying when I expect pain. If it doesn't work, I will take the message and refrain from sex until it subsides. I just hope that doesn't mean 6-15 months.

You are so welcome!!

I think you are in the correct mindset regarding sex. Be safe, get a strong erection, be gentle, and you should be fine! Experiment and take it slow in the beginning. Pain sometimes varies too so you should try to see what works best for you.

If you can do it without pain and with good erections, yes do it.

Erections provide fresh oxygenated blood into the penis tissues.  Sex can make things worse depending where you are in your situation. Letting things rest is beneficial and repeated use can make it worse. Worrying about it can also make things worse.  We have all been there.

Thanks, Mikel, by the way, for your thoughs.

Now, an update to my post (didn't know whether to put it here or on a separate post)

Managed to have sex (just couldn't take it anymore), and it was OK. We didn't dare move an inch, it was purely mitionary. I didn't feel pain, but again - I didn't move, and I am on a ton of painkillers. Still, very happy I managed, we both thought we won't have any kind of sex for a long time.
Don't know if I hurt ny dick more with this, benefited it or did no harm no foul. It was per doctor's recommendations. I am glad to see it is possible, at least at this stage, though I still feel my dick tissue is sensitive and would hurt it I tried to stand up or change position during sex, or if I wasn't on painkillers.

We'll see what happens further on.

Mikel, have you made things worse yourself and then healed/rebounded? Or are you talking a permanent worsening?

I am coming out of the acute stage and things are improving.  I am still careful with sex though - nothing as acrobatic as before and not as frequent.
