Hello All,

I am 59. I am in general good health. I don't have high blood pressure, diabetes, or other diagnosed physical health problems other than ED. I had ED before being diagnosed with Peyronies Disease. In December 2020 I began to take Trimix injections as my ED treatment. I liked them. They always worked. On a few occasions I had a large bruise at the injection site. I began to have pain on the top of my penis during erections in Feb 2020. I first felt the plaque on either side of my penis an inch from the base in Feb.  I felt smaller plaque on the top of my penis also at the base.

Over the past 3 months my penis has changed dramatically, I have a 29 degree curve from the base to the right. I have a dent just above the base of the penis on the right side. The plaque has doubled in size on my left and right sides. My penis has decreased in length by 1.3 inches and in girth by 1.8 inches. My flaccid penis hangs with the glans facing right at a 90 degree angle from the plain of my body.

The emotional toll of Peyronies Disease has been pretty high for me. I feel much less of a man now that I have less of a penis.

In most of the photos I have seen of Peyronies Disease the penis has a much sharper angle of bend then my situation.

I went to the urologist who prescribed the Trimix. He attributed the plaque to the Trimix and said it happened with a small number of patients who used the drug. He mentioned cologenase, but my insurance doesn't cover it.

The UCLA Men's Clinic Doctor Jesse Mills states in his youtube video that he doesn't believe Trimix causes Peyronies Disease, but for me the onset of symptoms coincided with my beginning to use the Trimix.

I have horrible insurance at the moment. I would happily pay cash to a urologist specialized in Peyronies Disease. Mine admitted he was not.

I recently bought a Restorex device.

GOALS FOR READING POSTS ON THE SITE

I hope to learn whether the Restorex device can help my particular issue as it seems more profound curves are the main focus.
Determine whether cologanase is a viable treatment for my indentation deformity.
If so determine how I can find a urologist willing to treatment for cash. I live in Los Angeles.

WHAT I HAVE ALREADY LEARNED

Peyronies Disease affects a lot of men.  It is pretty common. There is no cure. The plaques continue to gain size for a period and then stabilize. The plaque prevents the blood from enlarging the penis.

Welcome to the forum HopLite,

I got Peyronies Disease from bimix starting right in the base where I injected.  It is nice to be told a "small number get Peyronies Disease" after getting Peyronies Disease rather than when they tell you to inject.  If you have Peyronies Disease with increasing plaque size, growing deformity, and Erectile Dysfunction at almost 60 years old.  I would STRONGLY consider an implant and put this behind you in one 30 minutes outpatient surgery by a great high-volume surgeon.  Waiting and injecting are likely to cost you more size when you finally get an implant.  Keep in mind this is coming from someone who waited about a decade longer than I should have and count it as one of the biggest mistakes of my life.  When I saw how great an implant could be, I felt like a fool for waiting.

Here are the facts about Erectile Dysfunction injections.  They are listed as side effects right on the individual drugs but often not mentioned on the compounded mix of bimix and trimix.  It is not required by law in most states.

1. Papaverine is available at a low cost and is stable at room temperature but is less effective than the other medications and may have a higher tendency to cause scarring (fibrosis).

2. Papaverine plus phentolamine (BiMix) is more potent than papaverine alone but with the same potential side effects such as priapism and scar tissue formation.  It requires refrigeration

3. Alprostadil rarely causes priapism, but with its use, pain is more common.  (Alprostadil is also known as prostaglandin E-1 or PGE-1, in powdered form, it may be called Caverject or Edex.)

4. Papaverine plus phentolamine plus Alprostadil (Trimix) is the most potent but requires refrigeration and has the same side effects as Papaverine and Alprostadil.

Finally, read my journal.  It is a lot of reading, but it will educate you since I have used Traction, VED, Injections, All oral Erectile Dysfunction drugs, cockrings, and a host of supplements

Thanks Hawk,

I read a lot of your posts after I posted the introduction. I agree. The implant seems the most sensible choice. I am scared, but I have already emailed your physician's office. I am in LA and I am looking for guys here as well. Great site. Lots of important information.

Welcome Hoplite to the forum!  Here you will find answers and some direction for your situation. Getting an implant in your situation appears to be the most sensible and logical choice. Read up on Hawks journey as this will give you hope and some comfort.  Don't foster thoughts of worry and despair as this leads you in a downward spiral.  You do want a great Dr for the implant and I'm sure Hawk has told you this. Do make a list of questions concerning you for the  Dr's visit and have them answered. Hopefully you can get on some insurance to have this covered for you?  I am not sure but the Dr may have you use a traction device before an implant to try and regain some of your size back.   Keep looking up and don't give up hope!  :)  mikel7

As Mike indicated.  VED and Traction can help you obtain your maximum size in the months before implant resulting in a larger implant.  As you work out possibilities and choose a course of action, the VED and Traction can do nothing but help.

Start gentle and gradual.  Extend time and force as you near surgery IF surgery is your plan.   BTW, Dr. Eid does video consultations for $300 (30 minutes). So if you decide to do that, be well prepared before the consultation.

My Peyronies Disease was caused by Trimix.

Not discussed by urologist prior to Rx as a risk. I feel like I should sue.
Snake Diet + 5-day fasts + pentox + NeoV's stretching routine + Mito Red Light. Curvature 99% gone.

I also used Todd Capistrant's "Fascial Distortion Model" to help my curvature. Start slowly.
