RestoreX - am I using this thing correctly?

I'm trying to get started using RestoreX. I am brand new to this, and have never done traction before of any kind. Last week was my first two Xiaflex injections, and I've had my Peyronies Disease symptoms for about 9 months.

I think I got it configured correctly for my anatomy and curvature.

But I have a couple questions, and below is a photo of the device in use:

  • I barely - and I truly mean just barely - can get my penis into the clamp and close down the clamp. It is on the highest of the two height settings, and I can just barely get a single notch on the closed clamp. And when I do...it hurts. It is very uncomfortable. I did my 30 minutes, but it was not comfortable at all. Am I putting it on right? I put the wrap around the penis, and for some added cushion I used a couple layers of toilet paper as I don't have any gauge. I tried to put the clamp on the top of the shaft just below the rim of the head. Is that correct? Why is it so uncomfortable? I don't expect penis traction to be pain free or comfortable, but everything I'd heard was that RestoreX is far more comfortable than everything else...which tells me everything else must be aaaawwwwwful, or I'm doing something wrong in using this.
  • I am more concerned with lost length than my curve, which was relatively minor. So after I put my penis into the clamp, I pull back and release the springs so it stretches...I see the white lines on the extension rods...and I let it sit there for 30 minutes.

What am I doing wrong?

Hey Trenton.

I am curious as to why you rotated the blue base like that. Was it uncomfortable? That bend on the base is there because of your testicles... Could it be because you are using so much padding on it and you end up clamping it a lot? I used only the tape when I tried it out a couple of times and after a few tries fiddling with it I was able to stretch and had no pain no the glans, but the skin did hurt.... Couldn't figure it out yet.

You say you see the white lines? Then you are not applying tension correctly just yet. The white lines can't be visible. You have to release the device on the spring and then move it up one or more notches till you stop seeing the lines again.

There are a few posts and threads here with pictures on it. Give it a search. Hope you find them.

It's important that the clamped portion only include the head.... just BEFORE the shaft not after. With time it will become easier. Once you are able to add more tension...ie burying the white lines...it stretches everything out during any given session and you may need to even clamp one more knotch as you progress through higher tensions in a single session.

You are doing it wrong.... first of all... you need to wrap good enough of coban wrap on your penis head... it needs to be on head ONLY. Second of all, the clamp should come down between the head and the shaft, the clamp should not be on the shaft at all... but on the intersection.

Also... I usually do not pull my penis to fit in the fixed clamp.... I first release the clamp from the rest of the device... fix it on my penis, then move the clamp and fit it in the slot... then I activate move the rods up notches and only then do I activate the spring.

Also, if you see White lines on extension rods, you are doing it Wrong ! White lines should never show, if it shows it means you have applied very little tension. When full tension is applied due to the strong pulling force my penis becomes the width of 2 pencils.

Hey wtrenton,

Just a few point that might help you on the way:

- First of all, have you watched this video where dr Trost explains how ti best use Restorex? Might be of use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v42XPREz6U

- Second, like the others have said, you need to place only the glans inside the clamp so that the lower edge of the clamp is just beneath the glans. Make sure to pull back any foreskin so that it is not stuck in the clamp, otherwise the skin will stretch instead of the tissue inside the penis. Then you wrap the actual glans, esp the lower part, in order to prevent it from sliding and to reduce skin irritation.

- Third, if you find the tape that came with the Restorex painful, I would substitute it. I have tried various approaches and what works best for me is a) applying brown sports tape to the inside of the clamp for extra friction, b) wrapping a single layer of thin cotton gauss around the glans and then c) applying two layers of thicker elastic gauss over that thin layer. Overall, the total wrapping is around 2mm thick. Then, similar to what you have done, I also keep some of that elastic gauss between the penis and the Restorex so that it will slide easier while counterbending.

- Fourth, like GaussRifle says, you need to first move the device away from your body a few clicks, then release the springs. At the moment, it looks like you only release the springs. This is why the white lines are showing and why your penis looks relatively thick. Like Gauss, when I am using it, my penis is about two pencils thick.

- Fifth, take your time and do not rush. It was really uncomfortable for me at the beginning but it does get easier with time. Now I have been able to make a routine out of it and know straight away if something is wrong or just generically uncomfortable (as it tends to be when your penis is clamped down upon). The white lines do not need to be buried for the first couple of weeks while you are adjusting, but eventually you need to bury them in order to ensure that you are getting enough traction. Like others have said, there are good pictures available on the forum for illustration and comparison.

Hope that helps, best of luck!
