Straighten up flyright

Hi everyone

Im 45, married with 2 young kids. My bend literally appeared overnight and quite significant (about 45 degrees upward). This happened in January this year (2021). I had had no ED at that point, however have had issues since.

I went to my GP straight away and was refereed to a urologist / surgeon. He took a very quick look at me, declared it was Peyronies and told me to get a VED, use it a few times a week and come back in six months for surgery. He gave me a script for viagra which Ive been using and seems to work as expected. I can still have sex OK, although we have had to mix up positions - my wife isnt bothered by it, but I am - the ED is distressing, and the new shape is awkward. Surgery isnt an option for me (I have a major heart issue and the general anesthetic is too risky) so Ive turned to the internet for help and solutions.

Since then I've started taking CoQu10 and have been using the VED twice daily for 10mins each time. Ive recently ordered a restoreX device and will start traction soon. I havent had any major improvements, although I do have nocturnal erections now (I suspect thanks to the VED) and things havent gotten worse, so I guess thats good.

Like everyone, keen to hear success stories and advice

thanks

Welcome to the forum Flyright,

You seem to be saying that the oral meds resolved the ED issues.

About general anesthesia, I had a penile implant with a spinal block.  The idea may sound frightening, but it was a piece of cake.  I will never have general anesthesia again in a situation where a spinal block can be used.  Recovery is easier, and the pain deadening stays with you much longer without taking narcotics.

Having said that, it is a HUGE mistake to let anyone but a highly skilled well-known surgeon do penile surgery. If they do not do at least 100 of the exact procedure you need with well-known results, you don't want them.

Welcome Flyright to the forum.  I agree with Hawk as to a surgeon who is extremely qualified and skilled with a proven track record.

Don't get down on yourself with this.  Just read through the forum and you can learn of the different treatments that individuals are using for their own selves. You might want to look into heat therapy also.  Just be careful as it must be controlled.  With traction you may be able to correct your deformity somewhat - you just need to try it for yourself. Also you should adopt this mindset that this is a marathon and not a sprint.  We live in a microwave society and patience has been thrown out the window.  :) Mikel7

Thanks for the welcome. Yes LWillisjr our cases do sound similar - Its great to her a success story, even if it took some pain to get there. Like I said in my post - I dont think surgery is going to be an option, so Im really hoping for some benefit from RestoreX. Im inclined to think that if I can reduce the bend from 45 down to 30 or so it will make a massive difference. If need be I can pop viagra forever!

thanks again, good to know the support is out there

cheers

I was having some ED issues at first as well. I didn't realize how much this weighed on me mentally. All I could think about was performing well with my wife, and worrying about it just made things worse. Peyronies doesn't directly cause ED. Also if your current curvature doesn't get any worse, then yes with position changes you can make things worse. My curved progressed to more than 70 degrees so penetrative sex became near impossible. So this is what led to my decision ultimately for surgery. So is you can get any improvement by other methods then for sure you should try these first.
