hello all.

i have just gotten to week 12 using the SOMAerect device. I have followed the VED protocols on this site carefully and have used the device daily, without fail.. Unfortunately I havent seen any improvement in my peyronies desease at this stage. Im disappointed obviously but i plan to see the complete treatment through. And I think, even if the 26 week treatment plan doesnt work, I'l start from the beginning and do another 26 weeks...

i should give some history to my condition maybe. (as brief as i can make it, i think)

I'm 52 years old. i was diagnosed with peyronies 3 years ago by my doctor, i found a lump in my penis. i was just relived when he told me it was nothing serious, ie cancer. so i left the surgery after he said there was nothing to worry about. at this time i was taking a high dose of fluoxetine for depression, one of the side effects - for me - was that i wasnt getting erections. this didnt concern me at the time- i was just grateful not to be depressed!

however, when i started reducing the fluoxetine, my erections started coming back. to my absolute horror my penis was a completely different size/shape. You all know what thats like im guessing. i'd lost an inch or so and i now had/have a 40 degree bend up and to the left. I went back to the doctor and was sent to see a urologist. at first i was told i had scarring to both sides of my penis, i could feel it on the left side, but not the right. there was several delays in my treatment, or lack of. but eventually my urologist recommened the SOMA device.

before that, and before i found this forum i searched the web for anything i could do to help. i used a small ultrasound machine for a while - and i also used an hitachi magic wand (massager machine) after i had read about others experiences with each device.  difficult to know if either had helped although i can no longer feel the lump i originally had. and perhaps the curve/bend doesnt lean to the left as much as it did originally. some men online warned against using either device in case the peyronies was made worse, but tbh i couldnt see it being any worse. ive been taking Acetyl L Carnitine for about 4 months.

so thats me. in a situation most (or all) on this forum know all about, a very unhappy place where i can see no chance of a physical relationship with a woman if my peyronies persists. despite the fact that the VED hasnt worked for me at this stage i am determined to continue in the hope that at some point i will see improvements. i should mention i have actually seen some small changes in my penis whilst flacid, it feels plumper, more like it used to a few years back.

reading this forum on here has helped me a great deal, thankyou. seeing other men who are having some success feels like a little win for all of us.

cheers brothers!

Hi all. Hope you are well.

I thought i'd update my progress briefly.

i finished the 26 week programme on my SOMA VED device a few weeks ago. Unfortunately i cant really notice any great improvement since my first post. Ive started the 26 week programme again and i'm determined to give that the best shot i can.

Ive spoken to urologist and he is happy for me to continue (mostly because i would like to avoid going under the knife) and we will catch up again in the new year. Although he has prescribed me Viagra (a few tabs a week) to help "with blood flow". I havent started taking them yet, waiting on my GP to sort that out. Should be interesting! (as a very young man i used to get erections on the bus all the time. I might take a bus ride after i take the tablet to see if i can stir up some old memories... ;)  )

i'm afraid thats all there is to say atm. Definately NOT giving up. And will post if anything changes.

cheers all!

Hi Pruno, sorry to hear it hasn't helped.

Is it the 3 chamber SOMA (3 different sized cylinders) as the one I have just ordered is the 3 cylinder variant (SOMAcorrect) and that should be arriving tomorrow.

Also have you considered traction? My Uro in London gave me a Penimaster Pro and have been using that almost every day anywhere between 2 - 4 hours. That does seem to be helping a little as the bend is about 6-7 degrees less. (I'm also having a course of 6 x shock wave treatments but I'm not sure that is doing much - cost me £2,950 which is disappointing to say the least - on top of the 10 hour (440 mile round trip) commute every 2 weeks. Oh well, only 3 more visits - halfway there now.

I'll be trying my SOMA out tomorrow - will keep you posted mate.

thanks Addo
yes thats the VED im using. its a bit odd using it at first, standing in the bathroom with this big plastic thing hanging off you but you get used to it soon enough. ive not been doing traction but i am going to start that along with my second programme - Monty recommended it and his results speak for themselves.

i did some reading on the shockwaves a while back - not cheap is it - ive not been offered that at this stage, i imagine i'll try anything at some point but for now im sticking with the VED and starting traction. i think ill start doing 2 sessions a day also.

i really want to avoid the nesbit proceedure - i probabaly shouldnt have looked at images online of that! put me off straight away.

good luck with the SOMA !
cheers!

It arrived on Saturday and I'll be starting to use it tonight for the first time - I've decided 3-4 hours of traction followed by the SOMA - should be able to manage this most days (if not all) over the 28 day programme.

Here's hoping for a thicker, longer and straighter Penis   :)

Just a quick note to anyone who may feel to embarrassed / shy about going to see a doctor for a check up / diagnosis. You don't have to feel that way and whatever you have got, they've probably seen 10 times worse. Once you've had a few professional people look at your penis - it's no big deal after a while. Please try to overcome your fear and get yourself checked out - you'll be glad you did, I promise.

Started last night with 4 hours traction and small cylinder VED - I managed 4 pumps of the VED which did not cause any pain. I probably could have gone another 1 or 2 pumps but don't want to over pump and cause more issues.

Will update in a week or so with any (hopefully) results.
