Mr man

Hello guys,

Have just completed a 29 days fast. Food and water is allowed only after sunset and before sunrise. During daytime there is no food or water allowed. It amounts to about 14 hour daily fast.

By day 28. Penis was really soft and hanging lower then it had in years. Cuvature had also decreased. Length had increased.

This was amazing, but once I staterted eating normal times again. There seems to have been regression back to how it was.

Does anyone know of any studies? Or has anyone.seen positive results by fasting?

Am interested in trying fasting for peyronie's but am not sure how to go about doing it?

Congratulations! That's a long fast. As you know, I recommend regular fasts and lifelong keto.

There was only one study on fasting and erection quality which was just last year, and it showed that men who fasted did have better EQ. Only basic epidemiology, but it's a start! https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32717247/

Here is the latest review of insulin resistance causing Peyronie's: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8029506/

There was a wonderful video with Ben Bikman today on Impact Theory on insulin resistance, where he mentions PCOS, Erectile Dysfunction and endothelial health, as well as the dangers of veganism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAbpE0_6ayg&t=19s

Mr man

Thank you Neo,

That's plenty for me to research on. Before I draw up a plan for fasting.

Funny thing is I actually enjoy the results. Have gone from having a tubby belly. To being close to skinny.

Do feel lighter and as a regular runner. Am able to be quicker. It's a new experience.

Anyways, will tuck into all this information. Fingers crossed it will lead to some good treatment. Then perhaps I'll post experiences/results here?

Congratulations for your accomplishment, Mr man. Sorry for the regression. I hope you find a way to preserve your progress.

Hi NeoV
Cool subject. Thanks for sharing those studies.
I am really interested in starting the Keto diet soon.
But I have two questions, should I keep cheese and some dairy products (that are low on carbs) on the diet, or should I get rid of them all?
Should I do intermittent fasting with keto diet? Would 14x10 be considered intermittent fasting?

I just tested my blood levels and results shocked me. Even though my glucose levels were somewhat okay, my insulin levels are very high.
To the point of showing some degree of Insulin resistance. Maybe this was one the main triggers for my disease. I was eating plenty of sugar during the pandemic days, although I was completely sedentary.

did you just have a ramadan rather than a real fast spanning multiple days?

It was Ramadan. Although, it is pretty grueling. I lost a lot of weight. My body shape went from muscled piggy belly to skinny no belly.

Hello Neo-v,

3 questions please

Do you do water fasting or dry fasting? Do you have an opinion on either?

And if you stopped keto. Would you expect peyronie's to return?

Hope your alright with the 3rd degree? Just tapping into your knowledge/experience.

Cheese and diary are fine unless you have a specific reason to get rid of them. I myself enjoy full fat cream and high quality cheeses of all kinds.
The main point is to eliminate insulin resistance. Again, I highly recommend life long keto with intermittent fasting. You may optionally eat occasional carbs from very low insulin triggering sources such as nuts, but I generally find no need to do so if I eat enough meat. It's really your choice. Once you have established a baseline of being keto and are fat adapted, I do find that I can have little treats here and there such as dark chocolate, or even a celebratory beer or red wine without any issues. Just make sure that those are exceptions and not something you're always having.

14x10 does not seem good enough to me to really cause much healing. A 23h fast at a minimum (one eating window in the morning or night) in my opinion, but in general I only eat 1 to 2 meals max anyway. I do 23h fasts multiple times a week, but could definitely benefit from going a bit longer, and sometimes do go longer.

I do water fasts, since the goal again is to increase insulin sensitivity, and anything else is just unnecessary in my mind. It isn't easy to live this way for a lot of people, so don't make it too complicated. Try to enjoy keto to the max and make the way of eating exciting. I definitely spend quite a bit of money on quality meat, cheese, and all kinds of vegetables without holding back.

Mr man

This is helpful.

Have embraced the idea of keto diet since yesterday. Given I month fast actually made me well. This morning I had a banana, apple and orange in yogurt with a little honey. It felt light a refreshing. My 'sis in law' made me a cheese and spinach pancake. Now my belly is bloated and my mind is not as clear. Possibly due to the processed white flour in the pancake?

Am sensing embracing keto is a journey. Of self education and discipline.

Appreciate your input Neo. Very helpful.

Over the last 3 years. Have tried almost everything. Time to give keto a go.

Mr. Man,

What you ate is the exact opposite of keto there. A banana, apple, and honey, is very high insulin. You may as well have eaten pure sugar! Please do some googling.
That is the exact diet that gave me insulin resistance, joint pain, and penis issues, and my dad and many men as well.

I recommend eggs and butter or olive oil in the morning if you will eat breakfast. Hopefully the "pancake" was just cheese and spinach and did not have flour.

Some popular mainstream YouTuber's who go over things to eat would be Dr. Berg and Thomas Delaur.
I also recommend subscribing to the subreddit "ketoscience." There are fantastic studies being posted there every day : )

Do not fear fat! Books to read or authors to listen to would be Nina Tolchez and Gary Taubes. Do not fear cholesterol, check out Cholesterol Code by Dave Feldman.

Today I had 400g of ground beef in sesame oil, a huge hunk of cheese, and six eggs in olive oil.

Mr man

Hello neo,

I regularly eat eggs, meat, oive oils, and other natural oils and vinegars, and only ever eat butter. Never margarine. That stuff is highly processed and often contains artificial ingredients. Prefer my foods raw and from the ground.

So I (wrongly) thought most fruit were ok in keto. As they contain low levels of glucose. Compared to many sugary food products. Did know about honey. It was just a teaspoon. Am intending not to jump into this keto diet overnight

Tried that before. The change was to much in one go. Weight loss was alarming. Am going to transition over maybe 3 weeks. To give the body time to adjust. Theres going to be a lot of chemical rebalancing.

Will check out your recommend reads. Nice one.. Clearly have a lot to learn about keto. There seems to be a much about insulin resistance? Will let you know how it all goes. Much appreciate your input. Feel i'v taken up a lot of your time .

Hello neo,

As a start. Have cut out all cerials. Wheat and barley etc. These use to be high in my previous diet. Will increase fat. To compensate for energy.

Interested to see what a low carb high fat diet does to arteries? Time will tell.
