How do I know if pain is from my erection vs pain from sex?

I know I'm not supposed to do anything that hurts, but my erections hurt does that mean try to refrain from erections? This has me so confused and I how will I know if it's pain from sex vs pain from erection?

I would like to know as well. I also feel some pain or at least, some discomfort while getting erect. I do avoid erections anytime I can. Even though I don't have erectile disfunction, I am quite unsure about having sex.
What if a session does cause it some harm? I know I won't be able to refrain from doing it for a long time. My wife doesn't deserve it. But how long should I wait before risking it? I also don't know.
