Hi there guys. Is anybody trying Celebrex?
It is an non steroidal, anti-inflammatory, that used to be discussed here, quite often, back in the 2009-2011 posts. However, it disappeared from conversations for some unknown reason.
I'd like to know if someone used it for Peyronies recently. Or maybe some of the veteran members have some experience or knew someone who tried it.

My experience
(First of all, a quick disclamer; bear in mind, this is my experience, not my recommendation! I am no doctor nor any sort of health specialist. Be advised.  ;))

Having this said, Celebrex is helping me a lot!! I decided to take a chance after reading those old time post and... wow! It-is-awesome!!!
I know I shouldn't be taking those anti-inflammatory drugs for longer periods, but they appear to act directly onto the problem. I am very optimistic about how my body is reacting to it.
I think it is helping a lot on the inflammation. I believe I am still on the acute phase.

What happened
At the beginning of this month, the lumps started to hurt again. It was a mild but persistent pain. Very annoying. After reading about the drug here, I decided to try it.
To my surprise, all the pain vanished just after three days! Also I felt that all the inner lumps reducing in size and they all were much less sore.
There were no changes in shape or form, but it felt so much better.

After finishing the box, I took a break for a couple of weeks, only to see the condition slightly worsening in terms of soreness again. The lumps started to feel harder also.
I then tried Ibuprofen for a change, with no results whatsoever.

Three days ago I resumed taking celebrex and I am seeing improvements again. I am a member of the "Hirudoid's gang", using it twice a day. I think it helped, but not as much as celebrex.
From the moment I starter using it, I immediately perceived the improvement. I am now wondering about how long should I take it and how much. I want all the benefits to last this time.

For the record, I am also taking Pentox, CoQ10, Astaxantin, L-Arginine and Cialis 2,5mg. None of them made me notice such a quick improvement right off the bat.

Again, I am not recommending anyone to try it, but sharing my experience.

I was prescribed Celebrex years ago when it came out and it helped all of my bodies inflammation against arthritis/joint pain. It was the taken off the market for a time and then retested and then reintroduced.  I know it did almost eliminate the feeling of arthritis for me.

Hi there Mike!
Makes sense. I think the same happened to Vioxx. I am glad it is back to the market.

I remember you mentioning your experience with celebrex on another post. Good to know it helped!
Do you remember felling any side effects? Besides, how is this pain nowadays? Better? I hope so.
My family has a history of arthritis and joint pain as well. I wonder if any rheumatological issue has something to do with peyronies.

By the way, for how long did you take Celebrex?

I believe I was on Celebrex for 7 years and then after my heart surgery the Dr suggested I stop taking it. I have since replaced Celebrex with supplements and diet/exercise regimen . I did have to quit all medications due to my ears.

First of all, sorry for your for problems. I hope you are doing well nowadays.

Really? 7 years consecutively? How much a day? Do you remember?
This gives me hope on keeping using it longer without worrying to much. I am very optimistic about my results.
On the past couple of days I almost forgot I had this disease. I even missed on of my pentox doses. Something I care almost religiously.
What a relief it was.

Just a quick update on this drug.
Even though it has helped me a lot in the past in the fight against constant pain (it has stopped any pain permanently until now), I just read an article saying that it can increase glucose levels, warning diabetics.
My lastest blood test showed some very high levels of glucose and insulin. I was not on any special diet while taking Celebrex, but I have not changed any habits as drastically to see these levels increased as they were.
I have stopped taking it completely and I will be very careful when taking it again. I am not an expert and I may be saying very unfair things against the medication, but I suggest caution when taking it

I also noticed that my glucose levels did increase slightly but my Dr was not worried about it. They were ususaly around 106 where <99 was the norm.  Celebrex for me was a wonder drug.

Yeah Mike. For me as well.
It was the best solution ever for my pain. It vanished all discomfort, that was tormenting me for several months, in just two days! I thank God (and this forum) for learning about this medicine.
It was miraculous!

But, I don't think using for longer periods is safe. My insulin levels went high very fast.
I am starting to agree with NeoV about the relationship between insulin resistance and peyronies. I am on a keto diet for two weeks and I am feeling incredibly better. I plan to post about my experience in a couple of weeks.

But I started this diet because I had a flare up three weeks ago that increased my hourglassing to the point of being visible while erect. Maybe it was a glucose/insulin reaction. I really don't know, but I don't wanna risk it.
