Is this overkill....?

Hi guys,

In my desperation to reverse the very sudden onset of Peyronies Disease (mainly upward curvature and side dent), I've read up and embarked on a rather full on regime. Currently I'm taking:

Pentoxifylline 1200mg
Tadalafil 5mg
L-Arginine 3000mg
Acetyl L-Carnitine 3000mg
Vitamin E 1000mg
Vitamin E Oil
Testoboost with CoQ10 20mg
Tribulus Terrestris 400mg
Vitamin C 1500mg
Vitamin D 900mcg
Vitamin B12 2mg
Folic Acid 120mcg
Melatonin 10mg

I'm also doing traction and have had 7 sessions of shockwave therapy.

My question is: am I over egging the pudding? The Pentox is the most recent addition and it makes me feel quite dizzy and nauseas.

Thoughts?

Uwc888, My regimen is very similar to yours.  I cannot take any formal meds though because of my ears. I did take Pentox and Cialis and they were slowing the progression of the disease down. I did have some digestive issues from the pentox when taken on an empty stomach. Your approach looks good.

I also see you are taking some testosterone boosters.  Have you had your free testosterone and estradiol checked?  I say this because I have been on full hormone replacement for the past 17 years and I would feel dead without it. For the shockwave therapy I don't have any experience regarding that.  Some people swear by it and others say it is worthless. Traction does work for quite a few men.  Remember marathon and not a sprint - keep your chin up!  :)  Mike

Generally speaking, almost everything you are taking is nothing but a food supplement that much of the population takes, so there is no way that it can be overkill.

There are two areas where I would at least be cautious and do some research.
Melatonin is an immune enhancer.  It is used as an adjunct therapy in many cancers and other diseases, including COVID.  Peyronies Disease, however, is an auto-immune disorder, so I would confirm if there are any recent studies on its specific effects.

Vitamin C is a somewhat similar issue.  There is some indication that large doses can worsen osteoarthritis because it boosts collagen.  All college is not good.  There are many types ranging from most tissue from scar tissue to bone and elastin.  It is also an immune enhancer.

I have not researched these two specific to Peyronies Disease in at least 3 years, so I cannot be certain, but I would have a concern.

Thanks guys. Tbh, the melatonin and Vitamin C were things I was taking in the good old days pre Peyronies Disease, but if they might be inhibiting my recovery then that's 2 less pills that will be rattling around inside me every day.

Pentox just doesn't agree with me.  Within 30 minutes of taking it, I get a headache that lasts 2 hours.  I'm thinking of ditching it, which is a shame considering I've still got 230 tablets left.

Anyone else having the same problem?

We are all individuals.  I could never tale Cialis.  The next day I would feel like someone hit me across the lower back with a baseball bat and it would last at least a day..

Too much antioxidants starts to become counteractive..I would lower a bit some ammounts and take flavonoids also . You should have a check up visit with a competent andrologist.

Man, I think it is tough to armchair quarterback anybody's supplement game.  I take most of what you have here, and have not had any bad effects.

Similar to some PENTOX can give me heartburn or make me feel nauseous, but I find if I take it with food I am better.

Melatonin is something I swear by for sleep, but I am not sure it would address any Peyronie's issues.  I mean sleep is great for testosterone, so maybe it helps there... but... I would be at a loss beyond that.

I say experiment and see what makes you feel better... and what helps out.  I remember when I was first diagnosed I went crazy with a lot of supplements, but then I cut it down to Pentox, Cialis, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, and L-Arginine.  Those were the only things my doctor endorsed, and his statement was "they can't hurt..."  Not exactly a ringing endorsement of them.

Diagnosed 5 years ago with an upward curve of 60-65 degrees.
Completed one full round of treatments with Xiaflex (8 injections)  Measured curve 40-45 degrees after that
Using Restorex and took oral medications as well (Pentox Cials)

Melatonin is known to be an immune booster.  Peyronies Disease is known to be an auto-immune disease.  Just keep that in mind.

Hello Hawk,
I always wanted to get out of doubt on this topic:
Is it evidenced/confirmed that peyronies is an autoimmune disease?

Traction with PMP.

Yes!  There are many types of immune responses and many types of autoimmune diseases.  Plaque (scar tissue) is the body's response to injury.  When the body responds to repair something that does not need repairing, that is an over-active immune response.  Whether Melatonin supports certain immune responses.  I know of no studies that identify which responses it boosts and which responses it doesn't boost.
