Side effects and usefulness of Pentox during the chronic phase

Hi everyone,

I'm in the chronic phase but I've finally decided to take action and beat Peyronie's disease. The curve doesn't bother me that much but I've recently experienced erectile dysfunction.

My urologist recommended RestoreX along with Pentox (3x per day). I don't experience major side effects except one: agitation. Since I've already been diagnosed with a generalized anxiety disorder, it really doesn't help to manage my anxiety. I'm wondering if I should continue taking it or not.

1) For those of you who have experienced agitation while taking Pentox, did it go away after some time?
2) I've seen that Pentox is often recommended as a first-line treatment for Peyronie's disease. But is it even useful (or at least potentially useful) in the chronic phase?

Thanks for your help!

When I took pentox I did experience some agitation.  It could of very well been due to the drug because I eliminated all caffeine out of my diet- no coffee, tea or pop a long time ago. I was only on it for about 3 months.   As far as it being helpful in the chronic stage I do not know.

I also have GAD and was recommended the same treatment, what did you eventually decide to do?

I ended up not taking Pentox. It just didn't feel like the right thing to do. Some doctors do not prescribe it/doubt its effectiveness and I'm in the chronic phase anyway.

I only use RestoreX at the moment. It's too soon to tell if it will improve the curve but so far I've regained some lost length and my erections seem better.

Hi everyone,

I saw my urologist this morning and she still insisted I try Pentox along with traction, even at a lower dosage (once per day instead of 3).

Has anyone had any success with Pentox in the chronic phase? I read that Dr. Trost doesn't think it's helpful so I'm hesitant about taking it again.

What help determined that you entered the chronic phase? Did the pain just go away?

MIA - nothing works after 5 months
supplements and pharmaceuticals I've tried:
cialis, pentox, magnesium chloride, dim, turmeric, hyaluronic acid, vitamin k2, paba, l-arginine, l-citrulline. either get surgery (and possible ed), get implant, or pray

you can search and there will be people who have posted that it has helped in some fashion.  However, I think your doctor was like mine...the risk vs. reward are both very low- so if you want to try they can cut you a Rx.  I think that is what Dr. Trost sort of said in his video as well.

Me personally, I think most people take it regardless of chronic or acute...just to say they are trying their best using relatively safe treatments to cure or stop the issue.  This is why I take it.

Pretty much! I have a "classic" case. The pain during erections stopped and a curvature appeared. It has remained unchanged since then. I still have pain sometimes while flaccid but it's nowhere near what it was when Peyronie's started and, strangely enough, it doesn't hurt when my penis is erect. My condition is quite stable. That's why I think I'm in the chronic phase.

Thanks! Do you know if there are any documented side effects regarding sexual function and/or Peyronie's? I can handle a bad stomach and increased anxiety but I don't want to make things worse.

Thanks for that info Mauvais. I don't believe there are any negative effects of Pentax and Peyronie's. It's been used for decades as an off label treatment for it. There would be some evidence of negative effects by now.

I personally experience side effects not related to sexual function or Peyronie's. The first few days I started taking it, I was getting really strong erections(I'd say that's a good thing). I get occasional stomach cramps, leg cramps, generally feeling of unwellness, and vivid nightmares. I'm still in the acute phase though. Hope this info helps.

Every time I took Pentoxifylline, I would notice more bumps on the side of my penis the next day.

I would get random erections during night time, but it would and wake me up 4 to 5 times a night. I would then have one stronger erection after I decided to get out of bed. But it would hurt quite a bit and the penis would feel achy. But my penis would feel nice and supple, and has nice and even color to it. Just the bumps that keep turning up is horrifying me.

I've stopped taking it today, as it gives me more pain than any improvements. Not sure if anybody else is getting this same side effect. But I think my Peyronie's was caused by immune system imbalance, followed by physical trauma to the penis from over-supplementation.
