RestoreX Time Limit
« on: April 19, 2021, 01:03:54 PM »

In the RestoreX manual, it was suggested that RestoreX only get used up to 60 minutes in a day.  However, I did see a study that suggested using it for 90 minutes a day. Is it ok to use it for more than 60 minutes or would that be a bad practice?

I saw a video with Dr. Trost, the inventor of the device, and in the video he said there wasn't a difference, that 60 was enough.

I would say to break it up into time limits of 30 to 60 minutes with that as session 1.  Then later in the day another session , etc....

That far exceeds what the manual says is safe.

They recommend 15 minutes straight then 15 angled. As one session of 30 minutes.

Repeat one more time later in the day. Day total 60 minutes

I've been doing 90 minutes per day for about 7 months now.  I break it up into 3 x 30 minute sessions with at least 30 minutes in between each session.  Typically I do 2 sessions in the morning and one in the afternoon.  No issues at all to report.

As long as it doesn't hurt you, I guess why not? I just remember reading somewhere that Dr. Trost, the inventor, said doing more sessions a day didn't do any better than the recommended 2.

Wishing you continued success. I think with patience we all can see results.

I gained about an inch back and dropped my curvature from 75 degrees to around 50.  I am on my 7th month, but have started tapering back to 60 minutes just this week due to the lack of further gains.

Any impact on the dent/hourglass?

Not much, I would estimate it being maybe a 5-10% improvement but that could be attributed to the erectile quality improvements I gained with the traction and not the traction itself.

Exciting to hear. I'll be very happy to see results like that. I'm only on week 10 but I see slight improvement already.

Any advice on clamping? I hvae used the tape and cut dishwashing foam and used that. Both the head of my penis seems to slip slowly or isnt tight enough to bury the white lines.

I emailed Dr. Trost, he responded. He explained that PathRight Medical erred on the side of caution, and assigned the time limit. He said it should even be perfectly safe to wear the device up to 12 hours a day.

The Restorex site even recommends 2 20 minutes sessions per day for results. I would be VERY skeptical to clamp my penis into something without removing and letting blood circulate fairly often. I also think someone could misuse the device, clamp themselves in tight, and really do some harm to themselves.

Experiment with different amount of tape. I use a lot. It helps with comfort and not slipping out.

As for the white lines? Bring all back to base position and extend the device one more click than when where you had it when you saw the white lines. Then press down on the device to release the device in to traction. you won't see the white lines then.

I just received a response from Dr. Trost.  His response was both prompt and thorough.  Until I receive clear permission to post the entirety of his remarks, I will briefly summarize.

Dr. Trost recommends 30 to 90 minutes of use a day.  He said in studies there was no difference in curve reduction between the 30 and 90-minute groups, but the 90-minute group did see some greater length restoration.  As anyone would expect, he likes to stay on the safe side, but they saw no persistent side-effects in the 90-minute group.

He did say there is simply no clinical evidence on the benefits or risks of wearing the device for longer periods.  He indicated that experimentation with untested methods is not something to be done at home.  It should be done in a controlled scientific setting, where we can get real and reliable data.  He also indicated if there were enough interest in doing a controlled study, he would be willing to help if we could crowdsource some funding.

I completely concur with his points about home experimenting.  He cited some sad incidents of men doing self-experimentation that resulted in great harm (not with traction).  It is why I aggressively challenge undocumented statements on the forum.

@Hawk I just caught on with this topic and i think this is amazing. This doctor deserves all the credit that he can get. What amount of funding was he talking about? i think it would be hard with people on the board, but still worth a try if well publicized?

I agree with your Mikel7. It is amazing his attitude in general, as well as the content he puts out there to inform patients and others about the condition, namely what works and what doesn't.

I will gladly recommend him to everybody that asks me. I called his clinic to see if he offered video consultations, but unfortunately he is only licensed in certain states, so he can't give medical advice to international patients. Maybe that will change in his practice on the mid-future, but no certainties for now. I would book an appointment 100%.

So I just caught up on all of the reply’s on this post.

Sorry if I was not initially clear. Dr. trost never suggested or recommend that I wear the device for 12 hours at a time, but rather, he only told me that it would technically be safe (in regards to a specific question that I asked him), and that PathRight Medical set the 30 minute time intervals with caution in mind.

Wasn’t my intention to spread any confusion, I usually try to be as through and transparent as possible.
