I've been watching this forum since my first peyronie signs last summer but this is my first post. Already done 2 ESWT sessions and planned for a third.
The first days after the sessions seemed promising but now it seems a waste of time. I was wondering if anyone has any improvements with ESWT?

I had two sessions done. I had pain for about 4 months and erections issues so I decided to give it a try. I was somewhat worried if it would make my situations worse. And now I believe it has. After two sessions I tried getting erect and I noticed my first dent in my penis. Now I'm thinking I was in the early stages of inflammation to an injury or micro trauma and the shockwaves made the healing process worse or exasperated the fibrosis giving my Peyronie's.

Off course there is a psychological factor to it but I also believe it has made the condition worse. The pain wasn't a big issue here. I was hoping to stop the inflammatory phase and speed up the healing process. I also didnt have a huge curvature issue, only in semi erect state there was a curvature but now this seems worse. I'm not sure if I should go for the third session.

I canceled mine for now. Yes I was in pain for 4 months so I kind of knew I must have injured myself during sex and it was difficult to get hard and painful. So I thought shockwave therapy would help because in theory it's supposed to make new blood vessels(angiogenesis) That will help with better erections. But the mechanism is by causing an inflammatory response. What I believed happened which sickens me to my stomach is I had an injury and my body was trying to heal itself but with the shockwave therapy it f'~c<+d up the healing process by bringing in more inflammation causing fibrosis. I may be completely wrong and even without the shockwave therapy I could have still gotten these dents and Peyronie's. But who knows. Now I'm here. Scared out of my mind.

Your story is kind of similar to mine. I'm scared to crap that this will never go way. I got some hope of going back to normal after ESWT but that doesn't seem likely. Will probably cancel the third session. Problem is that without ESWT im back to... nothing. No plan.

To put your guys mind at ease, I don't really think the shockwave made it worse. Just plain old peyronies within a few months started causing dents for me. In the very early stages, injury exists but doesn't fully manifest until a few months, so I had very minor dent that became worse over a span of a few months despite doing traction. Now I'm looking at Xiaflex, my main issue is curve. As for dents they can be filled in with extra tunical grafting (ETG) once peyronies stabilizes.

Have you looked at my post? I have pictures up. Are you saying it's going to get worse for me?

From your posts and this question it seems you are freaking out. Yes, it is peyronies. What you should be doing is following the survival guide , doing traction , taking low dose daily tadalafil that will really help. While traction hasn't really improved my indents in 3 months, I'm not giving up. It has definitely increased the length of my penis, stopped shrinkage... I believe I would be much worse without it. You should know that no matter what, with the right treatment, you should be able to have a functioning dick if u choose to not give up

Are your indents large? Do you have a sex life? How are you dealing psychologically?

Yes, it's a pretty evident indent according to me. No, I do not have a sex life currently. I'm dealing with it Physiologically by working with my doctor through least invasive to most invasive treatments. Started with traction,  now I'm scheduled to give xiaflex a try to reduce curve. If the dent causes my hinging, I will consider extra tunical grafting to fill in the dents if the doctor deems fit. If all else fails, I'm mentally coping by thinking I can rely on an implant.

Just a quick update: I decided to go for the 3rd ESWT session. Very glad I did. ESWT only does 1 thing: it stops the inflammation. It will not break up the plaque nor help with any ED.
In my situation I had a very small curvature, more a bump caused by the inflammation. The first ESWT sessions didnt do much but that was expected. The 3rd one made a huge difference. The inflamation and pain has stopped for 95%+. Most of the day my penis feels normal, like before peyronie, this was months ago. With low dose  tadalafil I have perfect feeling and perfect erections. Also without tadalafil erections are possible now. The plan is to continue with pentox and tadalafil to stop possible calcification and wait for the remain 5% of the inflammation to stop. Hope this works out but seeing some light at the end of the tunnel...

What did your doc say/expect that the ESWT will do? Here it was aimed only to stop the inflammation and it did.

Update: The third ESWT helped for a bit but then everything came back. Incuding pain.

Altough there's no proof that ESWT works i'm still considering a 4th session. The plaque is beginning to be more and more clear and painful. I can't imagine doing nothing and not trying to disrupt that process. Is that naive?
