Combat sports with implant?

I'm in no need of implant now, but I am only 27, no telling what I may need at say, 40. I participate in combat sports (wrestling, Bjj, must Thai). Would this still be safe IF I had to get an implant in the future?

Thanks.

The cylinders on a Titan implant are far more rugged than your penis.  Guys with implants do all sports and hobbies from powerlifting to riding trail bikes.  I ride horses and bikes.  My guess is that a direct hard kick with no protection could do some damage but if that happened, I think you would be more concerned with damage to you than the implant.

@Hawk, wearing a protective cup is no issue at all, I would be more concerned about possible damage to the reservoir, from pressure due to someone pushing down when grappling, and/or a kick to the gut.

To be truthful, I don't know what a full-on roundhouse combat kick directly to the reservoir would do.  I suspect the reservoir and surrounding tissue would absorb the shock.  I am certain grappling (I have minor belts in Judo and Ju-jitsu) would be no issue.

I will ask Dr. Eid if he ever had a ruptured reservoir from contact sports.

I'm interested in this also. BJJ with a cup is fine, but pressure on the reservoir.......regardless of how strong your core may be I can't help but think you would be asking for trouble.

Not to make light of the question, but I just have an image of a guy getting kicked in the stomach and instantly producing a giant rock-hard erection ... sending the attacker running for the hills!

LeRoastBeef can you please update your signature line. I am assuming you have already been implanted. If so, we would also like a journal if possible. Many thanks in advance.
