Hi all,

I often have trouble maintaining a solid erection ( although it's gradually improving ) without constant physical stimulation. If I stand up it will almost always instantly lose its ridgity.

However, my morning erections have come back with a avengence , so much so that they wake me up in the mornings and I can't get back to sleep.  Without any stimulation they remain until I go to the toilet to get rid of it. Even then, I will remain at 90% erect for another 10-15 minutes or so. Then they reappear about 10 minutes later 😂

I thought initially I may have some Venous leakage but I am confused how I can stay hard without any stimulation in the mornings yet need stimulation to stay hard whilst masturbating etc...

Does the body give out different signals with morning and NTE or does this mean it's more psychological than physical?

Thanks

But with a shelf life of 17hrs surely it shouldn't make a difference the time of day?

Also, Tadalafil will increase the blood flow to the penis granted but it won't stop the outflow so I'm not convinced the non stimuli erections have anything to do with the amount of PED5 in my system?

Of course I may be wrong , that's why I'm here 😂

It is now generally accepted that NTE's use different nerve pathways than erections when awake.  That has nothing to do with blood flow, however.  If your veins work in the morning, then they work.  The venous leak does not come and go.  It is very difficult to conclude that your ED is physical.

The only physical issue that results in erections coming and going is nerve damage.  That can result in NTE's but ED while awake.

Jimmy85, I have the same issue. When I get nocturnal erections, sometimes I wake up and realize that's it's been in erect state for a good amount of time. In the mornings I lose erections if I stop physical stimulation or if I stand. I'm also taking 5mg daily tadalafil. One thing I notice is that stress plays a huge part in your erections. When you are sleeping your body is most relaxed, when I'm awake with peyronies and all, there is so much pressure and anxiety as to why my erection won't stay and me repeatedly checking if my erection is better or worse, that kills the mood I think. I don't think about this consciously , but our subconscious thoughts definitely could be affecting our erections while masturbating. I even had a Doppler test and the doctor said I had excellent statistics, so he doesn't think it's physical.

Adrenalin is a stress hormone. It is produced during stress, fear, and anger.  Its job is to shunt blood away from all unnecessary areas of the body to the muscles and vital organs so the body can respond to emergencies.  That way if your house catches on fire during sex you won't run outside with an erection.  ;)

Seriously, the adrenalin actually binds to the nitric oxide (NO) receptors in the penis.  The NO causes the arteries to open and allow a larger volume of blood to flow into the penis.  If NO receptors are blocked by adrenalin the entire process is stopped.
