Post-Op Day 1

hello all,

first I want to thank the members I have communicated with through posts/pm. Thank you for keeping me in you're thoughts and prayers. It kept my mind on track, and positive.

I was first on OR room list this morning. He installed a Titan 22cm. I was still out of it when he came down. I think he said 5.5", not sure.
He measured me bpfsl 5 and 6/8" or 5 and 7/8" at last office visit.
He spoke to my wife, and told her about the drain, using ice, and that he was happy with the procedure.
The nurse is calling me in the morning.

I think I will take the bandages off tomorrow. Instructions says in 24-48hrs I can remove. I think I could get it to stay straight pointing at bellybutton better. I am doing fine taking the prescribed meds.
After 48hrs I can "back shower" no direct water on wound for 5 days
On 10th day after surgery 2 to 3 warm baths a day for 20mins

My first postop is on the 29th. That's 20 days after surgery. Lentz says that is not long enough to hurt size. I am not sure what is the average day would be to start cycling to make it easier to increase or at least maintain size.
Lentz said to call his office, and he would get me an earlier appt. if I wanted. So, what time frame (day) should I ask for? He said I could inflate on my own, but better be sure I can deflate. I would rather be seen just for piece of mind that things are looking like they are suppose too.

Congratulations,  You have the same equipment I have.

Did he perform a scrotal approach or an incision between the navel and penis (Retropibic)?  To my knowledge that is the only time, a drain tube is used.

Is everything OK ColdBrew?

You have been out of surgery for a week without a post.  We are dying to know how things are going.

Post-Op Day 6

I am doing fine. I'm guessing I had average pain and swelling. I feel like I could cycle now, but I will wait till I can take my first hot bath (Friday 19th, 10 days after surgery).

Wearing this jock strap with penis pointed up has been as painful as anything. How long did you wear a jockstrap or compression shorts to keep it pointed up?

I was told several times on day 3 to start pulling down on the pump every time I empty my bladder.

My surgery date was March 9th. My first postop visit is March 29th. Waiting 20 days might be making me lose more length to regain later. I don't know. Lentz says no. Maybe I should just wait, not worry, and cycle on the 29th.

On my March 4th visit, I ask Lentz to get an earlier 1st postop visit. He said if I felt like I could cycle to call him, and he would fit me in.
Well, I tried. When I called and talked to the nurse, she said they wait 3 to 4 weeks now for 1st postop. I told her several times that me and Lentz had discussed about earlier postop appointment on my March 4th visit. Fell on deaf ears. I doubt he even received the message.
It's frustrating when you feel like you can not get a simple message to your Dr.
They have a My Chart app where you can send the Dr. a message. I did that also, but only a nurse (or team) will respond.

When I was leaving the hospital after my surgery, I was told, "the nurse will call you tomorrow morning to check in with you." I thought, great, I will have some questions, I'm sure. I got up early the next morning and had a few questions wrote out and waiting. Call never came in.

I have confidence in Lentz and Duke Hospital....but the commutation is lacking. I asked Lentz how many he implants now a year, and it was 240-250.
The problem is he does so many it's routine. I have only one pecker, and this is my first surgery. So, heck yeah, I'm scared. I look down, not really much bruising, but it's bent and small. I measure without pulling the penis (just placing a ruler beside & not pressing bone) 4.5"
I'm thinking, is it possible to get back to what he measured? 5 7/8"

I just have a hard time accepting this poor communication. If you tell me you will do something (especially this situation), I expect you to follow through. Good money is being spent here. It will be $4500 out of my own pocket.

I am trying to stay positive, but it's tough. I think once I start cycling and see the difference, it will be all good.

Coldbrew,

I want to start with a few forum issues then get to your personal situation. It is great you checked in.  Not only so you can get feedback, but so thousands of members and even more guests can see these issues and challenges first hand.  We hope to hear from you at least every couple of days, if not more often.  You are in our thoughts and prayers, and we want to know how you are doing.

I will change the name of this topic to "Cold Brew's Implant Journal", so it makes sense to others and is easy to find for men looking for journals to research.  The last bit of housekeeping is that these journals get impossible to follow if you don't start every post with "Post-OP Day 6" or "Post-op Week 10".
____________________________________________
I am sorry for the communication breakdown.  It is certainly not uncommon and, is more likely, typical.  It will not necessarily impact your outcome, but it makes the journey far more stressful.  You understand now the appreciation I have for a surgeon who says, "here is my personal cell phone number.  You can call or text after hours, weekends, nights, and holidays.  I will always get back to you in person."

I once had a doctor who I complained to that my messages were not being passed to him.  He said, "Call and say, "I need to speak to the doctor.  Leave a message for him to call you back, NO MORE."  He said, "I have no choice.  I have to call you".  I am not sure if he meant by policy, by law, or by professional ethics, but I would try that approach if I were you.

Next, everything about your penis and implant is going to change.  That includes the size, the inflated and deflated angle, the cylinders' softness, the ease of pumping and deflating, the general over-all comfort, the comfort of wearing street clothes, etc.  It will change every two or 3 days initially, but some of these things will change for over a year.  Most importantly, what will change is that your penis will very soon be unstoppable, and your psychological state will change as dramatically as your penis.  In a couple of weeks, you will marvel at your penis even every time you shower or get undressed.  For months you will marvel at it every time you have sex, BUT, you will marvel at the positive change in your mind every couple minutes of every day.

I personally would not pull down on the pump, but you do what you think is best.  Your implant is the same size as mine, so you will certainly make 6" bone pressed unless you are very large with a lot of internal cylinder length.

One other thing for now.  Just take this tip and wear your penis up all the time for weeks if possible.  A downward angle (in my opinion) will result in more of a downward angle of your erection. The crus where the uninflatable base of the cylinders are planted are scaring in.  Your body is forming a capsule around them. That area is like the post hole a post goes in.   If the whole is wallowed out or expanded, the post is wobbly.  It is a bit similar with an implant.  Bending down now, I believe, will give you an erection that could point toward the floor at an angle rather than straight out or an upward angle.  It will still be usable but not as aesthetically appealing as you might prefer.

Good Luck.  I look forward to your next post.

Post-op Day 8

Hawk, I'm not large, and hope it's not a lot of internal length for the 22cm size. I'm 6ft 195lbs

I am still feeling good. I have taken it easy since surgery, and feel like each day was better, or at very least the same. Now, it may change once I start cycling.

The nurse called me back, and apologized for the delay. I am going tomorrow for my 1st postop visit (9 days after surgery) to cycle this thing. I was going to cycle own my own this weekend anyway, but this visit takes the worries out of the delating process. Also, the nurse will be able to make sure everything is healing correctly at this stage.

Any suggestions on making tomorrow better for the inflate process? I'll be taking the pain meds leading up to tomorrow. I will ask if they can refill the meds. This way I can cycle easier.

My glans look rough like it's starting to peel.. Maybe they can call in something.

Great to hear you are healing well, cold brew. I do remember the skin on my head starting to peel and was no big deal so don’t be alarmed by that. The best piece of advice I could give you is twofold:

If you are experiencing pain as you heal, take your pain meds consistently without missing any. I tried to lay off the painkillers, taking them only when I thought the pain was bad. However, what was clear was that I didn’t properly understand prescribed pain relief medication. Once I started to take a mixture of prescribed drugs every 2-4 hours on rotation, my pain was greatly reduced.

When cycling, do it in a hot bath - as hot a bath as you can stand. Any pain in your penis, caused by inflating for the first weeks, seems to be much less in a hot bath.

Good luck and keep us posted - advice from experienced members on here could be crucial.

As I recall, I got a little peeling too.  I think it is the result of being scrubbed with strong antiseptics in the operating room.

I would take your keychain, pump model with you.  I think you could still have a little learning curve at home if they hurry you through it in the office.  Since you have a very high incision, your scrotum might be less sore down where the pump is.  In any case, 9 days will be more comfortable than 4.

Just take a pain pill about 20 minutes before the appointment.  It certainly is not excruciating, just very uncomfortable.  Think of how that discomfort is prepping you for sheer ecstasy in a few weeks.  ;)

Make sure you ask if you can soak in a tub. It will give you way more inflate time in a tub of hot water than it will out of the tub.

Post-op Day 9

I had the cycling appointment today. It was kind of disappointing. It's awkward at first, and having 2 other people in the room didn't help.
I was able to get maybe 4-5 pumps in, before the pain. I had a lot of miss pumps from trying. Good thing is I didn't have any trouble deflating. I could feel the burn even with my limited pumps. I may start my hot baths late tonight, or tomorrow. I am sure being by myself in a relaxing hot bath will make a lot of difference.

Nothing to be disappointed about.  I did not expect any better.    That's why I said you will still have a learning curve at home.

As Roddy mentioned, the hot baths make all the difference.  I would get in the tub and gradually get the water as hot as I could stand it.  It was summer, and I actually had a huge glass of ice water and more loose ice to wrap in a rag and put on my head.  I would pump um and try to bear it for 30 minutes at first. I had my favorite music and would try to hang on until the next song was done.

This is not a sprint.  It is a marathon.  In retrospect, it is quick sex at 21 days, but while it is happening, it is a battle.  You can never imagine the day will come when you can bend your penis double and squeeze in, or pump 15 wall-to-wall pumps, so the sides of the pump touch each other.

A few tips that might help:

1, laying a washcloth over the scrotum to pump.
2. Rearranging or rolling the skin of the scrotum, so pumping pressure is not in the same area of skin with every pump
3. Pump with the index finger bent and the ball well seated in the bent finger and even brace the rest of the pump with your free hand.  This will prevent the very unpleasant experience of the pump shooting  -------->out of your hand under pressure because of the slippery surface on the inside of the scrotum. (none of this is a concern once you are healed).

Remember that the pain you feel in your penis is expansion.  It represents progress.

Post-op day 12

I was finally able to cycle, and hold for 30 mins. It felt great just to get over that first hump. I could have done it days earlier though. Sitting in the hot bath made is worse trying to hold and squeeze the pump for me. So, this morning I just tried inflating after I dried off from my hot bath. Wow, it works.
I hope it goes just as well later this evening. I am not sure on number of pumps. I can not inflate till it's straight just yet, but I can tell it's an improvement. I probably rough measured 5 3/16". That's just placing finger, and pressing (not hard) on fat pad.
I realized today that this is going to be a new beginning.

After you deflate, do you put in another pump to set the valve? I asked nurse, and she said not too. Should I?

I assume it's normal, but it's sore after delating. Using the jockstrap to keep it pointed up, it's a little tender.

Sounds great ! Keep on healing. I was wondering if you would be more comfortable if you used a pair of those microfiber briefs to keep things straight up. I know that jockstraps for me are very restrictive and can be uncomfortable. Microfiber is very soft but very supportive.

Great report !!!  This is your first of many new horizons.

Time to get into a few inflating deflating issues.

The Titan pump is referred to as a "One Touch."  It is enough to make you fall out of your chair laughing unless you equate touch and a squeeze with pliers as the same thing.

How it is supposed to work.

You depress the pump deflate valve for about two seconds, then release it.  That's it. Your penis starts to deflate slowly, almost like a natural erection.  You can, of course, speed the process by squeezing the penis, and you can deflate to an unnatural-looking state if you squeeze it properly.  This unnatural-looking deflation is more pronounced in the first year.

When you are finished, the pump is in deflate mode.  It is somewhat optional, but there is more likelihood of fluid leaking from the reservoir to the cylinders if you do not give it a couple of pumps.  The very first pump will take noticeably more force to flip the valve.

How it usually works in the beginning.

You press the deflate valve, but you cannot seem to get it to set.  As soon as you take your finger off the button, the valve returns to the inflate position and cannot naturally drain, and you cannot drain by squeezing the penis.

You end up having to press the deflate button and hold it with one hand as you squeeze the penis with the other hand.  When you are finished, the pump is still in inflating mode.

I have known a couple of men that got it to work as advertised immediately.  I know a few meant who NEVER got it to work as advertised.  Most men cannot get it to work as advertised for a few weeks or months after the pump gets broken in.

Post-op Day 13

I did not try for the 2nd inflation last night. I thought I could make it too sore. So, I started off this morning with a cycle of 40 mins. When I reached max pumps, every few mins I would check to see if I could get a half pump in.
I found soaking in the hot tub is great with the pain, but it's easier for me to raise on on knees, pat scrotum dry, then pump. I have less miss pumps this way. I quickly sit back down to submerge in the hot for help with the pain.

3 questions

did your Dr, or nurse tell you to model when you are deflated to help with the curve?
I think the nurse told me this on my last visit.
I thought we were suppose to just let the implant straighten out the curve, and I would always have a curve deflated.

How many cycling days did it take to eliminate the curve?

After cycling, should I wear penis pointed up? I am in some pain if I try to do it right after cycling.

I had more hourglass than curve by the time I had surgery but I never heard of anyone being told to remold their penis when flaccid.  That does not make much sense to me.

To give good input I need to know:

1. How much of a curve did you have pre-op?
2. How much if any do you have post-op?
3. now many pumps in total are you getting in?
4. Are you able to do any wall-to-wall total-full pumps at this stage?

When in the tub, a washcloth draped over the scrotum helps with inflation and eliminates the pump from slipping away from you

Post-OP Day 14

I had a good 45 degree curve pre surgery. I would guess 25 degree now.
As far as pumps I have no clue. Like you know it's a learning curve.
Last night I thought my implant was defective.
I had trouble getting it to start inflating. Then, after I got in a few pumps I could not get any more pumps in. Every time I gave it a pump it would feel like I was loosing fluid in the implant. I thought just my luck. I deflated, and went to watch tv. Then, the light came on. I was pressing on the deflating button while holding it to pump. Now, I am more careful where I hold it steady to pump.
This morning was a lot better with the cycling.

I am not sure if I should be doing 2 15min cycles, or 2 30 min cycles. I have read some conflicting info.
My penis is oval instead of round, and has a 30 degree curve. Even on my first couple pumps I get the burning feeling. I'm not sure how many pumps I can get in, but it's not many. I will try to get a good count tonight. I would guess less than 10, and maybe 2 wall to wall pumps. I always try and add pumps every 5 mins.

I hope in the future my curve gets better, and some increase in length. If the pain is any indication of possible size increase that is great. I have only cycled 4 to 5 times so far. The office visit I only got a few pumps in, and deflated. That was a big reason I wanted an office visit to make sure I could deflate. It was easy since I could feel the pump. Better safe than sorry, and in pain.

As Mike mentioned, these are the first steps of a long journey.

You should be inflated as many pumps and as long as possible.  Inflate for as long as you can ENDURE 2 times a day IF you can not endure a full 30 minutes.  This is truly an endurance ordeal at this point.

Be certain to totally deflate between cycling because when you deflate, you are inflating the reservoir.  It is essential to stretch that capsule to prevent auto-inflating as you heal.  There is not a non-surgical solution to auto-inflating.

Be patient, but as a point of reference, you will be able to do a minimum of 15 wall-to-wall pumps when healed.  I suspect that you currently have a 25-degree curve only because you are far from fully pumped at this stage.  Burning is natural.  Like I said in my journal, I would sit in a tub of HOT water and watch the clock, trying to bear it for one more song on my playlist.  By the end of a session, I was counting seconds.  I eventually went to (1) One-hour session.  My thought was it gave me more stretch because the longer session was tough, plus it was one less inflation per day.  Doctor Eid said that was fine.

In reference to your shape being oval instead of round - Penises really are not round but if you have TOTAL Erectile Dysfunction you will have less of a round shape because the spongiosum will not engorge.  If you don't have total Erectile Dysfunction then you will have a different experience inflating aroused vs inflating just to cycle.

PS: I added a link to this journal in our Implant Index.  The index is a sticky post at the top of this board.  This means it will never get pushed down the list and always be very accessible.

Cold Brew - A couple more details;

If your penis is not actually flat and awkward looking, almost like a crushed water bottle at his stage when cylinders are stiff, then you are either not totally deflated, OR you have swelling.  Please read the other Titan journals and see where they were on day 15.

I found the best way to get TOTAL deflation  IF YOUR DEFLATE VALVE IS LOCKED IN THE DRAIN POSITION is to pinch your glans between the sides of your thumbs and roll the heels of your hands together.  Roll the heels of your hands down your shaft, squeezing your shaft on each side as you go.

If your valve is not locked open, this does not work because you have e to hold the valve with one hand.  In that case, squeeze from the glands and work down the shaft, even behind the scrotum.

If you are totally deflated, you should be able to feel FLAT cylinders in your cavernosa.  You should also have bends or folds called 'dog ears" on the cylinders.

You should be getting stitches out soon. I assume you are going to see the nurse.  Ask her if you have swelling and if she thinks you are totally deflated.

Post-Op Day 16

I am cycling twice a day averaging 45-50 mins a cycle. Looks like I am at 5.5" length with light bone press.
I was not totaling deflating before. I deflate in the tub/shower, and then before getting dressed I lay back on bed for another deflate/squeeze of penis.
Next I slip jockstrap on while on my back, and point penis up. This seems like it would keep it from auto filling. Although, I do not think it was auto filling. I was just not completely deflating.
This is why I was having pain trying to point penis up as I was not fully deflated.

Hawk, that is what it reminds me of, " crushed water bottle feel " when deflated fully. I get that now. I am thankful you picked up on that. I feel better about deflating, and had a good cycling day.

Mark that down as a day of progress. When you string those days together it has a very happy ending.

Cold brew,
Sorry I have been missing your reports. I need to check with admin., as I very rarely see anyone’s posts.
As Hawk has said, it is a marathon, not a sprint. If you read other people’s journals, you will see you are experiencing the same concerns, at about the same intervals. Hawk is an excellent source of information, but if you read some of our journals you will see many of your concerns. I know it helped me a lot.
Finding the right underwear is difficult. I tried a lot of different kinds. I found briefs to hold my penis upright the best with the least amount of pain on your pump and boys. Then there is the issue of which pants/jeans worked best. Being stuck at home has allowed me many times to wear loose fitting pj bottoms or shorts. I would wear my penis up. Sometimes I would wrap loosely my penis in a gauze and put it under my waist band of underwear. This would allow it to point up and my pump and boys were not too tight.
Each guy is different, as I have progressed, I have also gone a few times commando, but that is a recent occurrence.
One guy told me to buy tighter briefs which would hold my penis in place. I found this useful some days, but bought a microfiber as the cottons were to irritating. But now I can wear the cotton briefs.
My penis always still bends to the right, but after a few pumps, it is like a nightstick.
I have only recently tried bending my penis down a little to be more natural soft, but who am I am trying to impress? I use my penis for sex, and for that it is great.
I have been to the gym only recently to try to get back in shape and I have noticed that my bulge seems to attract a few glances,  but I am ok with it.
You have to figure out what feels best and most comfortable.
Hope this helps.

Post-Op Day 22

Nurse removed my stitches (post-op day 20), and everything looks great. I am cycling 2 times a day for at least 30mins. The bulb is so much easier to compress. When I start inflating, it is usually on the 4 pump before I can feel it inflate. I'm guessing it takes this to flip, and set the valve?
I have not seen anymore gains in length. I am hopeful as I still have the pain. Hopefully some of that pain is correcting the curve also.

I have read other journals, and it does give some insight. However, it is really hard to compare progress with different Doctors, and protocols/orders.
Some are cycling on the 3rd day, others are left inflated after surgery, and some go 2+ weeks before cycling.
I started trying to cycle on the 9th day. By the 12th day I was actually doing decent cycles. I would guess I have between 20 to 24 cycles now. I am not sure where I should be at this stage. I know I have some pain, and would not attempt sex as this time. I see Dr Lentz on April 21st for my last post-op visit.

Stepone I was wondering why you haven't posted much. How long did it take to start seeing more correction in your curve? I mean, it's a lot better just after the implant. I went from 45 degrees to 20-25 degrees, but during your cycling phase how long to get more correction?
Yes, Hawk has been great answering questions.
Like you both have said it's a marathon. I keep telling myself this daily. I don't expect to get results overnight.

Cold brew, are you pumping to max? Meaning are you pumping until the bulb won’t pump anymore?
I hate to say this, but as the pain increased, I said “no pain, no gain”, LOL
I would pump and pump, sometimes drinking a beer to get past the pain. Sometimes I would walk around the house naked with my pumped up penis. Of course, no one was hear.
My penis is straight as an arrow when it is pumped. When it is deflated, sometimes it bend to
Left, sometimes right, and sometimes down.
It’s soft bend depends upon how I wear it in my underwear.
I don’t care what it looks like soft, unless I have to get naked at a gym. It has been nearly 2 years since I had my implant. I don’t have much to report, but may include a pic of before and after, if I can find the old ones.
I did regain about 1 inch in length, but my loss from the Nesbit surgery I had first in Maryland caused the most shrinkage. I went from a solid 8” to 6”.
When Dr Lentz asked me what was most important I told him girth, as it had shrunk quite a bit. I and my spouse have been most pleased with my increased girth. When I have intercourse with the spouse and I am in a position where I can see my penis  penetrating her, I still can’t believe how thick my penis is! I look at it and think, wow that’s a thick cock opening her up. She definitely likes the increased girth.
I seem to remember growing in size at about 3 months and gradually increased for almost a year. So as you said, it’s not a sprint, it’s more like a year long process.
Good luck in your journey.
Did you take some pics to share with new and future readers?

Post-Op Day 23

Stepone, Yes I am pumping to the max. I use both hands, but I still do not get the hard as a rock marble feel at the pump. Before I deflate I always try for more pumps. I use both thumbs/hands while pressing the pump. Every 5 mins during the cycle I try to add 1/2 or 1/4 pumps.
I begin cycling now before the hot bath. When the pain starts getting to me I start the hot bath to ease the pain.

I have only been inflating 14 days, and 23 days since surgery. I still have the burning pain, so hopefully I still have time and room to grow.

Everyone is different in how casual or detail-oriented they are.  I am an information junkie.  I would (and did) ask for a copy of my surgical notes.  Dr. Eid emailed them to me within 24 hours.  I would want to know if my surgeon made any relief incisions and his general thoughts as he was operating on my penis. Here is an excerpt from my notes:

"Examination of the penis with the cylinders fully inflated revealed the presence of a mild curvature to the dorsum.  The area of deformity was determined to be proximal near the base of the penis.  Using a combination of superficial incisions and blunt remodeling of the tunica albuginea, the defect is corrected.  Further dissection was done to expose the tunica albuginea on the side of the penile shaft near the base of the penis.  A series of small parallel excisions were made at the level of the corporotomy, and the resulting defect was closed with a running 3-0 PDS suture.  An erection was induced again to test the adequacy of the repair.  Marked improvement of the shape of the penile shaft was noted.  The cylinders were deflated and then reinflated and the patient's penis was reexamined.  The correction of the angulation accomplished, we turned our attention to the next part of the procedure."

I have a question about resolving these two statements
1. I am pumping to the max. I use both hands,
2. I still do not get the hard as a rock marble-feel at the pump.

If the pump is not hard like a rubber-covered marble and still has give, is it a lack of strength or grip that keeps you from pressing it again?

All of this has to be put in perspective.  Cycling 14 days is nothing.  I was cycling 9 days before I realized I was not fully deflating.  I would be more concerned if you said your pump bulb was going flat because you used all the fluid in your reservoir.  It that point a no more pressure can be exerted on your penis from the cylinders, either now or in the months ahead.

I agree with Hawk about asking for info about your surgery. When I had heart surgery my Dr gave me that info for me and wasn't offended at all.

This is causing me a little concern then.
I just messaged staff/team for surgical notes. I do not look to get any info soon, but we will see. They always respond fairly quick, but asking for notes they will have to go through Dr.

So, do you think I should be straight when pumped now?

The pump doesn't have any give. It's definitely pumped to max at this stage. I have good hand strength. I'm using my index finger with thumb, and also my other thumb on top of that thumb. Hope that makes sense.
The bulb is not going flat. After I am pumped to max, I wait for few mins and can get in a half pump. It doesn't seem to really add anything, but it makes the bulb back to a solid feel.

Cold Brew,

I am straight when pumped from about 3/4 to max.
When I have pumped to max, my bulb is full and cannot be pumped any more. It never goes flat.

I don't understand how your penis could be bending, if it is pumped. Titan are very strong cylinders.
Can you take a pic?

Stepone, were you straight in your first 2 weeks of cycling?
You stated you were growing in size up to the 3 month mark, and gradually increased over a year. That's great, I hope that's me too.

I am just trying to find out where I should be at with only 2 weeks of cycling.
In these 2 weeks should I already be straight?
I have read on other threads where the doctor says " let the implant straighten the curve over time ".

I still have pain when inflating, so I'm taking that as a positive. The bulb has never went, or been flat. I am pumped to max size as the implant will currently allow.
The implant off the bat reduced the curve in half, more really.

Maybe I misused some wording about pumping/bulb. When I am maxed out, the bulb is not flat, and I can not squeeze any more. Hawk, said it best. It's like a rubber covered rock. (I was taking marble/rock to extreme)

I called and was gave 2 wrong numbers as to where to get the surgical notes. One number they gave me was billing. lol
They have a nice my chart online where you think they would just upload the notes. It's safe and secure. Anyway, they emailed this forum I filled out, and emailed it back. Hopefully tomorrow I will have some notes. I just have that feeling it's not going to be what I'm after.

Cold brew.
Sorry for misunderstanding.
I guess I was lucky and mine had no bend at all to start after the surgery....or maybe I just don’t remember. I would say, give it time and talk to Dr Lentz about your concern.
We all heal at different rates, experience pain differently, etc.
Be positive about this.
I had early misgivings too.
I actually said aloud, what have I done?
But it is a process, sad as it sounds, but it will work out and you will have a bionic penis that will never let you down again.
You are still wearing it up, correct?
Which way does it have a curve and at what angle and where on penis is it curving?

Cold Brew-  Just my 2 cents from my experience with implant.  I went from 90 degree bend to approx 20% degree bend with Titan implant. It has been 2 years now so I don't expect anymore "straightening".  My wife actually prefers it with the slight bend upwards. My point being that in some severe cases an implant may not make you 100% straight.  Let me know if you have questions.

Post-Op Day 27

I am still cycling 2 times a day for at least 30 mins. I should have about 30 cycles so far. I still have pain in the shaft of penis. I hope it's for straightness, and length.

Stepone, I have the bend about half way and to the left. My penis is not only bent left. It looks like it has a slight upward curve with curve back down then the 20-25 degree bend to the left.
My erection looks exactly like it did in the VED pre surgery. I will get to see Lentz on the 21st (16 days).
I just have that feeling it's going to be what it is right now. I always thought the titan made you straighter over time. I guess I got confused. The more I have read lately it seems people that are straight now post surgery happened instantly from implant.

Hawk, I called several #'s last week before I got who I needed to speak with for medical records. I filled out paper work, and told them I only wanted Lentz's notes during my surgery. I called back today to make sure everything was good, and was told it will be 21 days. wow
I said I only wanted notes from the day of surgery. Lady said we get over 400 request a day. I see Lentz on the 21st, and I can ask questions then.

curved, OK you went from 90 degree to 20 degree. Was this with your first time inflating? Or over a period of cycles to get to 20 degrees?

Cold Brew,
Everyone heals differently, but I am thinking with you cycling twice a day, I would expect it be straighter. Mine was nearly straight, but still hurt like hell at 2 weeks.
Hawk may have better insight, but I think I would call and speak to Dr Lentz or his other PA’s.
My thought is when he inflated for final testing, he saw it and thought it looked good and would be fine. BUT, I think I would want to get a confirmation.
I am trying to remember if you can send pics on their communication system?
I think I would want just to hear it’s going to be ok.
I called them several times about various issues, they were always sensitive to my concerns.

I pretty much echo what Stepone said.  I would think your surgeon would be responsive to your concerns and not make you wait over 2 more weeks.

I did not have a significant curve, so I have no personal experience to share.  My notes do however say he made some superficial relief incisions after my initial inflation in the O.R. because of some small bend (I would have to check my notes). From what I have seen (Dr. Eid's video of correcting a 180-degree bend) and other member posts, most of the correction is accomplished in the O.R.  There is, however, residual improvement in size and bend in the following months.  If you are sore when inflating, it is because there is some tissue expansion going on. The way you can tell is simple.  If the longer you remain inflated, the more uncomfortable you get it is NOT soreness from surgery.  It is stretching.  It is, however, impossible for me to guess how much correction or size gain this will produce, however.

Some questions I would ask:
How much of a curve did you have in the O.R.upon initial inflation.
Were there any corrections made after initial inflation
Did he expect better correction than he was able to accomplish (if not, did he share that with you.  If yes, what changed)
Did he use any technique other than the implant to correct the curve
What can you expect in the next few months?

I sent those questions along with 2 pics. They respond quick through their my chart messaging system.
You're right I shouldn't have to wait till the 21st to get those answers.

Yes the pain does get worse the longer I stay inflated. I now start inflating outside of the bath, then after 10-15 mins I am ready for it to help with the pain. After inflating, I check every few mins to add pump(s) when I can, that is where the pain starts getting worse. Sometimes I can not feel it pump any fluid but bulb gets hard again, and Ill feel more pain. So, it must be stretching.

Read Steve's journal post about molding during inflation.  Needless to say, the longer you can stay inflated the greater the corrective action.

Cold Brew-  To answer your question my curve went from 90 degrees to approx 25 degrees immediately after implant. Dr Eid indicated that anything under 30 degrees would be considered a success because that would allow for penetration (again I had a severe amount of plaque). My curve went to approx 20 degrees within the first 60 days after implant and has remained at that level since.

I received answers to the questions

 their reply--

don't expect the curvature to fully correct for 6-12 months. Over time, the curvature will improve with daily inflation and at home modeling.
The curve was worse during the artificial erection in the OR and was slightly improved with the IPP. It looks like it is continuing to improve. This is great news!      (I sent 2 pics for them to review)
He did not do anything during surgery, because he didn't think it was necessary, and in the long run will have a very good result.

I also replied back for them to explain in detail what I should be doing for modeling.

Good news.
As I think back, I had a few times that I called/emailed and they along with Hawk put me at ease. It’s hard sometimes to imagine what 6-12 months will bring. But it is amazing how your penis will change.
Glad to hear.

Cold Brew-  I too would be interested to hear what they say about modeling.  Thx!

Post-Op Day 30

everything is going good with cycling and deflating 2 times daily. I am also doing some modeling to help with the curve.

Below is the answer I was given for modeling details.
Once the penis is maximally inflated, gently bend the penis in the opposite direction at the point of maximum curvature. Hold this for 20-30 seconds, then rest. I would repeat this several times during the daily 20-30 minute inflation sessions.

Little by little, the cylinders will act as a scaffold and tissue expander to gradually make the penis functionally straight. (Less than 15-20 degrees).

Are you able to extend inflation to one-hour inflation in the morning and another in the PM?  The extended time would very likely help without adding more pumping every day.

Post-Op Day 32

I still have pain in the shaft while cycling. I have not been cleared yet for sex, and would wait for the pain to ease more first. On average, how long does the pain last in the shaft/glans?
I assume my April 21st office visit I will get the go ahead.

Hawk, did you do two 1hr cycles, or just one 1hr cycle a day?
I usually do 40-50 mins per cycle.
I thought I remember reading you were doing one 1hr cycle to save on the pump.

That is correct.  I usually only did one 1-hour session per day BUT I did not have a curve to correct.  I went into surgery with only about a 10-degree curve and some hour-glass deformity.  It was actually a large dent on the underside.  I came out of surgery straight and the dent was gone.  My only reason to cycle was to regain some size.

ColdBrew,

Please describe your pain in the shaft in great detail.

1. If you squeeze your flaccid penis, does it hurt?  If so, how badly?
2. If you squeeze your inflated penis right after you inflate, does it hurt?  If so, how much?  be specific.
3. If you inflate for an hour, is the pain pretty intense and more than you are willing to bear?
4. If you inflate just enough to have good lubricated sex, does it hurt after an hour?
