recent consultation with doctor, no surgery but ved therapy
« on: February 11, 2021, 08:00:28 AM »

I met with my doctor yesterday 12 months after onset of peyronies(i have seen him before and we agreed to let it observe for a while). he told me that he would not consider surgery in my case as my biggest problem is the hourglassing and this could not be resolved by plication and doing a grafting surgery in your early twenties is a bad idea. i agree, after all the last thing i need is more Erectile Dysfunction and a circumciscion.

so he prescribed me a VED, he said there is little data, clinical data, to support its effect on indentation and hourglassing but that this doesnt mean it cant be tried and that barely anyone has the commitement it takes to do this over a prolonged period of time. he explained that hourglassign comes form scarring of the circumferential fibres as opposed to the longitudal ones which causes curvature

i have been searching the forum for positive stories of people getting rid of their deformities through VED. i have not found that many encouraging posts. mostly, it was posts from james or old man or neov, the only three guys that seem to have been able to get rid of their hourglassing. i have been digging really deep too and been looking for studies but barely any research has been done on the ved opposed to traction.

ill still do the therapy for 6 months. but i could really need some encouragement. am i doing this all for nothing? what is the evidence this can actually help me? my main problem is a large indentation on the left side, a minor one on the right side and a curve of about 15 degrees up and left. id like to get rid of all these but mostly the hourglassing because it really impacts my functionality.

i will try to occasionally write about my progress or lack thereof here

At first you have to define for yourself, which condition of ypur penis would be okay after your therapy. What are you expecting?
Then you have to understand, how your therapy works.
Patience is the keyword ☝️ Don't try to speed up your therapy, because your penis needs to get used to VED/traction.

Traction works for me with the penimaster pro. I wear the device many hours daily and I've increased from 4 - 6 h to 6 - 8 h with a tension around 400 - 600 g.
Other members here seem to change their therapies like I do with my underpants daily. That's why they don't see any improvements with VED and/or traction. The improvements with VED and traction depend on how the users use the devices.

First a question for everyone- It’s interesting to read what Kickler’s doctor said about circumferential plaque... I’ve read this phrase in papers a million times- ‘Plaque location can be dorsal, ventral, lateral, circumferential or septal.’ And I always assumed that circumferential meant it wraps all the way around the penis but from what your doctor said it just means the plaque is located horizontally rather than vertically...I have hourglassing with a palpable plaque on each side of the penis, opposite each other, both causing an indentation... There is a ‘valley’ linking the two areas of indentation across the top of the penis but I cannot feel any plaque between them at all... do I have a plaque wrapping all the way round my penis that I just cannot feel or is it more likely they’re two separate areas of Peyronies?

Anyone got a clue?!

And a specific one for each of the posters if you’re still on the forum-

Kickler- sounds like we have very similar Peyronies Disease deformity... been considering if I should do traction + VED. Have you seen any results yet?

Nolte94- has your indentation actually been pushed out by the traction or is it more a case that the bend has straightened so the indentation/hourglass just looks less severe? And were you doing this traction in the acute phase? I’m still at this stage and not sure if I should start yet.

27, Peyronies Disease started 4 months ago after sex injury- still progressing. Dad had Peyronies Disease
1 plaque on each side opposite each other near base- causing indentations on side and top and thus hourglassing- could be 1 circumferential scar?

I dont understand, why doctor would bring up plication but fail to mention extra tunical grafting that avoids incision in tunica to fill in dents and rid hourglass with minimal chance of Erectile Dysfunction.
