Xiaflex Question

So I had a penis doppler today and my doctor said I certainly qualify for injections as I'm at a 60 degree angle mid shaft. My question is though, and I'm not sure if I put this in the right forum, the majority of my plaque is on the top so he is confident the injection will certainly help that area. He says I do have a little plaque on the under part of my penis that is kind of the 'danger zone' as it is close to the urethra and injections and / or surgery are not recommended due to the closeness of the urethra. Has anyone experienced this as well? What did you do if anything? I meet him again in two weeks for a follow up to discuss the injections for the top plaque. Certainly nervous however a lot of the stories here give me hope.

What your doctor says is consistent with what mine said and most of what I have read. Plaques on top (dorsal) are much easier to find and inject into. They also are not near the "danger zones" where a slight miss aligned injection could cause serious damage to other tissue. I am being short in my answer here because I don't have time for more detail, but it is not quite as simple as I describe. But I think your doctor is telling you the truth and being "conservative" in not wanting to put other parts of your penis at risk.

I have not heard of these "danger zones" before. Anything on my penis I would consider dangerous.  :-)

The nerve bundle to the glans is definitely dorsal and any surgery in this area would pose risks. I am a proponent of surgery given that certain symptoms and proper selection of surgical techniques, and the doctor involved all line up. I had surgery on the dorsal side to correct a 70 degree curve 13 years ago and still happy with the decision.

I have my first xiaflex next week. My entire plaque is on under side (ventral). Doctor said in his practice he hast treated patients with plaque on ventral side carefully without adverse affects. It all comes down to surgeon technique and he knows how to spare the urethra.

I think gauss is right. An experienced and capable doctor probably has much better success aiming the needle in the right place. My urologist is good, but no great expert and just said "It is good that your plaque is on top and so easy to find and inject."
