Maybe a dumb question but...

Alright so I think I need someone to explain this to me.

Peyronies + the implant.

Obviously the implant stops Peyronies, it makes you straight. Depending on the surgical methods you may or may not have plaque after the surgery. That makes sense to me. But, everyone says after the surgery, you won't have peyronies anymore. You're "cured"

How?

What happens to the plaque or the penis or whatever that makes it stop? Can you develop more scar tissue? Can the scar tissue you have grow? Move? Why or why not?

Sorry if this seems excessive, but it just isn't making sense to me. If someone cares enough to explain it like I'm dumb (which I feel like I am), please do. It would be highly appreciated.

Anon,

That is actually a very good, well-thought-through question.

I started and have run this forum for over 15 years, and I don't even know the answer to your question.

I know I actually posed the question to Dr. Eid one time "If micro-trauma can trigger Peyronies Disease, how come cutting it, grafting it, degloving it, shoving implants in it; do not start a wildfire of Peyronies Disease?

I will try to look up his response, but I think it went something like, "We don't know".  ??? ::)

It's because it doesn't, Hawk. It doesn't stop.
It is indeed a good question, Anon, but it's clear that the disease won't stop until you actually change your lifestyle a.k.a. take care of your body.
Your brain will keep sending out signals & your body will keep inflaming the tissue excessively until you change your life. That's why it should be approached from all angles in order reign in the disease; but without a diet and lifestyle change, I don't see why it would change at all.

I strongly believe that after years of good diet and good quality of life, your body will have "cured" you.
But if you fall back into old habits, it might strike again.

Bottom line:
Just because you get an implant, does not mean you're cured. It only means that the implant is preventing worsening, since it's literally replacing your natural erections.

GiR,

We don't operate by empty claims void of facts and evidence on this forum.  It sets back our fight worse than no information at all.

You seem to decare that statement by the sole force of your own authority.  Are you prepared to back it by sound, compelling studies?  Do you at least have the authority of hearsay from any respected authority?

Of course, the answer is, no you don't.  You have nothing but the fact that you typed it in a sentence.

You are absolutely wrong!  My authority is both the hearsay of respected physicians and the obvious fact that NONE of the men with implants on this forum have had a continuation of any manifestations of Peyronies Disease (pain, plaque formation, deformity).

In my case I had most of my scar tissue excised and replaced with a tachosil graft.  Combined now with my implant I believe, and that's the kicker, I believe that the combination stopped the spread of my scar tissue.  Like I think I've stated somewhere awhile ago, I asked Dr Yafi about this, and he said something to the effect that scar tissue forms and grows from tears, where the site of damage is jagged and rough which can irritate the surrounding area, causing more scar tissue to form.  When you undergo surgery, in my case, precise incisions and clean cuts heal much better.  He said it's like splitting your chin open.  If you do nothing and let it heal on its own you will end up with a pretty nasty scar.  But if you go to the doctor and have it cleaned up and stitched, a lot of times you end up with no scar or a very small one.  Just my 2 cents

"We" also don't operate on sugarcoating and blind trust in studies made my the government.
But those two things are both things that you do, Hawk.
You completely trust a few different studies made on a very selected few.
This makes all scared young people very disoriented. But how would you know that?
You're like 60?

Since you have an implant yourself, you should know that the only reason an implant stops the progression is because you literally have a pump inside of your penis, making your natural blood supply obsolete. How is that difficult to understand?
Do you think, what, that the recurring inflammation just magically appears in the tunica?
Increased blood flow in this disease is clearly not only positive, but negative as well.

If I'm not mistaking, the only thing that's naturally engorged after an implant, is the glans, correct?
It's clearly not possible for the body to keep attacking the tunica post implant, since the implant is placed inside the corpus cavernosa (which contains the big majority of blood during an erection).
Now tell me, how would the inflammation reach the tunica (which is where the inflammation and deformity occur) if there's an enormous Titan implant in between? Tell me. Do it.
I don't have to read governmental studies to understand simplicity.
And don't get me wrong, this disease/disorder is very complex - but the subject of why an implant stops progression is not a part of the complexity.

There's only one thing that works, and that's listening to your body and acting accordingly.

I'm considering all different things. And then I act on it.
Implant is a no going back thing, but if nothing else works after months and months of dedication.
Then yes, I will consider an implant.

I hope you realized how intellectually challenged your thought processes are before then.

Out of nothing, you proclaim Peyronies Disease advances after an implant.  Actually, not out of nothing, but rather in the face of all evidence to the contrary.

Out of nothing you conclude, I accept a few government studies.  I have never referenced a government study

Out of nothing you conclude, I accept a few studies when I have studied more studies of all sizes than all of your hundreds of nonsensical posts.

None of this should surprise any of the readers because you conclude I am 60 in spite of the fact that my signature line states in black and white my actual age.
You replace facts with your whimsical imagination BUT you won't use this forum to propagate fantasy as fact.

Finely, every older man on this forum knows far more about being 20 than you know about being our age.

The end of your post is so convoluted it cannot even be addressed.  It would be like reading "since birds are flying south the resulting updrafts might bring on the long-awaited eclipse of the cow who suckled the baby pig".  There is just no way to respond except laugh and scratch your head.

Don't post anything else as fact on this forum without documenting and sourcing your claims in a manner that others can go and evaluate the documentation.
Consider this post a generous informal warning.
