Hi Friends. Sorry for putting this topic on this board, but hope that this topic will be added step by step. So, who had experience with these 3 specialists? I have been lurking sites like a Healthgrades and having watched mixed reviews - I have tired. I have tired of so many so-called peyronie "specialists" around and all over internet and I know, that most of you tired here, because of constant speculation about specialists like who is "the best of the best" and sounds childish, yet. So, I'm planning visit the USA in Spring, despite my small budget. I can try only 1-2 doctors, but not 3 as it's too expensive. So, how was your experience with them? Will not they prescribe me unnecessary expensive tests-examinations in order to waste my money? Furthermore, I don't want the scary and useless injections for my absolutely straight member. I know, that "hardpatriot" from our forum was in Goldstein's office, but unfortunately he was last seen in forum in November. Now, I'm talking with Goldstein's clinic via website and they response me too fast and it's - super. Hope, the great reviews and success testimonials on their site are not fake. Finally, I want to say if those specialists like Morganstern, Goldstein, Einstein are not able to help me with my penile loss of sensation - I will lose a faith in modern medicine. Thanks in advance.

I would see Dr Lue in San Francisco. Very well liked and expert in Peyroines treatment.  Most US doctors were his own student anyway if you ask . 100% of his practice is dedicated to Peyroines, not like Most andrologists. He's the best.

I saw him right before Covid hit so the borders were open. He did a careful exam, confirmed the diagnosis with ultrasound answered all my questions and recommended Xiapex with traction following it. He's got a good sense of humor, is funny, and very nice. He was training several residents at the time too. It took awhile for an appointment but was worth it and I was able to have a little vacation too. The exam with ultrasound cost  600$USD, (but you can easily spend that on two nights in a hotel in San Francisco).  I found earlier a urologist at Stanford University on the internet who said he was a Peyroines expert and Stanford is world renowned as a medical center. I asked Dr Lue about him, and he said, ,,oh yes. He was one of my residents once." So I knew Dr Lue was a good choice.

Palo15, Wow. Thanks for detailed answer. Could you share with us his personal e-mail as his clinic's website like a trash - no response and I even called by my phone recently there within international department and russian speaking operator with king complex treated me like a garbage and just hung up the phone during our conversation. So, please could you share with us his e-mail, if you have. Thanks in advance.

Keith Walts, I have just read you story and I'm really sorry to hear of your troubles. You mentioned in your story that trigger was some "SSRI'S". Could you explain us what does "SSRI'S" means, if you want. Just curious. By the way, You live in a San Diego, so did you try to visit Mr Goldstein there? In order to listen his opinion related to your issue. Thanks in advance.

Palo15, Sorry for disturbing, but curious to know what Professor Tom Lue says related to Peyronie's issue. Is it treatable? Will we ever be the same - I mean is it possible to return to our prior states somehow or at least similar? I dream to be a healthy again like I was 17 years old haha. This disorder is a real cage for men. Thanks in advance. Sincerely.

Wilson: it surprises me that with world renowed Rados Djinovic (from Sava Perovic) right around the corner from you, in  Serbia, you want to spend a hoard of cash and travel to the US. Even if you do travel there, and have a good first consultation would you be able to afford constant visits and treatments? what about potential problems and complications that would arise?

IF you have Xiaflex injections, (which i doubt given the exorbitant price, even with insurance for those that live on the US) what happens if you do have a Penile fracture from it? it doesn't happen too often, but there is that possibility. And then what? You are stuck in an airplane with a fractured penis, double it's size, on a huge long flight back home to then have to explain to doctors in your country what you just did in America while you now beg for treatment at home?

This was just an example. A grim one, but it's definitely something that you have to keep in mind. I know it provides comfort and solace the idea that you can go and find treatment somewhere; that you know that even if it is very FAR AWAY, there is a specialist that may be able to provide relief to your burden. But you can't lose sight of the rest.

Also, it leaves me sad that you reached out to me on Skype and i was ready and willing to talk to you on a voice call, to help you out with all the questions you may have; and you were embarrassed to talk to me. Really... it's sad.

Wilson

Hi Pfract. Just asking people's opinions about those doctors in details. I know, that it stuck-trapped disorder and I survived somehow almost 10 years, but next decades - I can't as I have really tired. Every day my mind is filled with this Demon's disorder - I can't work and I can't rest with my family nor friends. My mind is on autopilot regime daily. No wonder, soon I will end up in a mental hospital. So, now I have a hope and dream to be cured by a specialist, no matter whether it will be a world top famous specialist or not. And I would gladly to talk with you, but only by a voice chat, not a call as my "english listening" is not perfect. Thanks in advance. All the Best. Sincerely.

Yes Wilson,

Ive not heard of the Serbian doctor, but it's not a bad idea to start with him first. Like Pfract said, he's closer and surely less expensive. It's all a matter if he's a good fit for you. But, that's up to you to decide.

I also heard that Xiapex is being pulled from the market in Europe. It's not due to safety reasons, not to my knowledge, but due to costs. It is ridiculously expensive without US insurance and the manufacturer is just making insane amounts of money on it.

Dr Lue will always leave you with treatment options. The least invasive is Xiaflex plus traction to remodel the plaque. If you don't have a bend, he obviously won't recommend Xiaflex (that's to correct a bend). If other issues are present, like hourglassing, he's likely to recommend a surgery if you're young enough to not risk ED. You could have the surgery anywhere in the world, like from the Serbian specialist possibly for a more affordable price.  It's unfortunate but Peyroines is a really neglected area in urology, except for a small number of doctors worldwide, so they are hard to find. There are plenty of treatment options for you and you definitely can and will get better with the right treatment. But, be careful with surgery. I saw a horrifying website by European Peyroines specialists. They posted a picture of a guy who had had a Peyroines surgery by a chief surgeon at a German teaching hospital that went bad. They said it was the least disturbing photo they had. I could post the picture here, but it's Just too disturbing to look at. The penis and scrotum was totally black after the surgery. This was caused by gangrene. The article said virtually the entire penis and scrotum had to amputated. Not trying to scare you, but this is serious stuff and don't let just anyone work on you. The results could be disastrous.

Palo15, I don't need scary Xiapex as I don't have a curvature. Yes, Pfract's idea about to visit close country nearby is a good idea. I will soon visit Serbia, but not Djinovic, his friend - Professor Miroslav Djordjevic. I will just arrive to him in order just to listen his opinion related to this Demon's disorder. Both of them are mainly focus on a gender surgery, not a peyronie's theme. However, I will visit Professor Miro Djordjevic. So, could you please share with us what did Mr Tom Lue says regarding Peyronie? Is it treatable or we stuck-trapped forever? Is it possible to return to prior state or at least similar? Apologize for my concerning question. Thanks in advance. Sincerely.

Oh yes, Wilson, Peyroines is highly treatable. Dr Lue has put many guys back to almost 90% normal or better I would guess. He's been doing this for 40 years I think. And if you are young, the success rate is even higher. So, I really think you'll be fine with the right doctor. But, just be careful who you choose. Really you can't be in better hands than with Dr Lue.

Yeah man no worries, SSRI's are just the technical term for anti depressants. I found out too late that they're really bad for your penis and can atrophy the tissue in it. I've considered seeing Goldstein and just might, but part of me also wants to specifically see an andrologist who specialized in Peyronie's.

@wilson; update us on how your consultation goes in Serbia.

Hi Friends, want to add some information related my phone consultation with Dr Goldstein.
Recently, I have talked with him by an international phone call from my mobile phone and it was free as his clinic scheduled a phone call with me in advance. As I already mentioned his clinic has a great staff and great service.
Nevertheless, Dr Irwin Goldstein listened my story carefully and afterwards he was honest with me, and finally advised only some «plasma» injections for my loss of penile sensation case, though he is not sure. So, he is a honest and nice man, but it's seems that he is not a super peyronie's specialist. Actually, now I'm a bit confused about positive peyronie's reviews with severe cases on his clinic's website.
However, as I said he is still a honest-kind man and good listener. So, I will soon try to talk with Tom Lue and Steven Morganstern about my case. Will write, if I get them. Thanks for reading.

Well,  he can't cure you over the phone that's for sure. It seems to me, that he is more focused on research at this time in his life than he was before. There are other peyronies doctors out there, aside from the ones you mentioned..

Wilson

Hi again. Yesterday, I talked with Dr Tom Lue via online video-consultation. I paid 651$ for it. So, it was too short consultation due to zoom hassle application with a bad connection and loss of the audio. So, he said that surgery is not for me and recommended for my case viagra and some "steroid" in China as it close for my country, but didn't mention the name of that "steroid". He was too busy and his face was like "don't come to the US now", though he is a very kind and friendly man. He tried to relax me as he saw that I'm bit upset. So, I'm confused and don't know what to do. I expected more like "come to me and I will help you", but the reality and situation is unclear for me at this moment. By the way, I don't want those hassle video consultations with different doctors anymore as I have really tired. However, Will try to stay in touch with his clinic. Thanks for reading.

That is a very steep price for somebody not to listen to you. Why try to go back to him? In my point of view that's not good advice at all and I would wait some time and with a clear head make a better decision.

How old did he looked like, by the way?

Wilson

Pfract, Thanks for the reply. Actually, I have really tired with a constant searching right doctors. It's a real hassle. Now, I'm curious to meet only with Professor Miroslav Djordjevic in Serbia soon, even though he mainly focus on a gender surgery, not a peyronie field. Just interesting to talk with him on peyronie theme as he is a nice man and our culture within language is similar. Just want to listen his point of view on this issue without further treatments. I will just talk with him and will come back my home.

P.s Tom Lue is a 74 years old, but looks younger, in a casual blue shirt and in a good shape, very kind man.

Dear Friends, Hi again. Few days ago wrote e-mail to stupid expensive UCSF's international department to discuss Tom Lue's behavior. As you already know his video consultation wasted my money (651$) and I could have bought a new computer for myself. So, I asked this Department to talk with this clown to be more serious as he was too busy during this short consultation and talked like it's a joke disorder. I know he became too old, but it doesn't mean to waste people's money for idiot consultations. So, they still don't reply me. The Stupid International Department of UCSF were nice with me during the payment period, but now they got my money and disappeared - don't response me anymore. So, I'm upset with them.
p.s By the way, I have just took the tickets to Turkey and will meet with Professor Miro Djordjevic soon in Serbia (Belgrade) in order to have a consultation. So, he was kind and serious with me one year ago during our e-mail conversation and invited to his office, even though he is not a peyronie specialist. He is a true serious doctor, though he is not a peyronie specialist, he is a genital surgeon. Miro - wonderful man. So, will report soon about our consultation. Thanks for reading.

Look into Dr. Larry Levine in Chicago. One of the worlds top guys. I just had surgery with him just shy of 4 weeks ago.
51 Years old, Autoimmune my entire life
Peyronies From Feb 2020. 80 Degree dorsal curve, hour glassing, much pain.
PEG Surgery WAS on Feb 10, 2021 with Dr Levine
Success: 85% - Graft slipped, deformed, but better than it was.

Daremo, Many thanks for the reply. How to contact with Levine directly? Do you have his person e-mail as his website uncomfortable and I don't want to fill the hassle document papers anymore. Hi Friends, As I promised you - Recently moved to Belgrade, was in Professor Miroslav Djordjevic's office. So, he came to me after the surgery with patient and we had a fast consultation with him. I think I should have took a russian-serbian translator with me to better understand each other, though both of us know english, it was unclear to understand some moments. So, in general - he is a kind-good man, who talked with me and then done caverjet injection to me for detailed understanding of my condition, though I did not want to do injection to my member, but it was needed for my possible diagnosis and I agreed. So, the possible diagnosis - possibly venous leakage. Sounds weird and a bit scary for me. He recommended plan treatment for 3-4 months to take small dosage cialis and If doesn't help - to start the further detailed diagnosis with possible surgery for it. I didn't have time to give him too much questions as I said he came to me after the surgery and I was a bit shy. So, my question for you, is a venous leakage is a part of peyronie or not? Is it related to peyronie or not? Who had a successful surgery for venous leakage and how is your condition now? Is it better? Are you happy? Will I feel my member again to prior state? Do you live a happy life now like to prior all this nightmare? Many Thanks in advance. Sincerely.

Pfract

There is a lot of confusion in your post. You have to factor in all the money you would be spending traveling there to his office, and time as well in case you want to proceed with this. Also.... venous leak may be manageable with medication, but there is no cure. Never heard of any case here in the board, or online, or read about it. So... maybe he was trying to tell you that you could manage your condition like that? With pills?

And like he says.... "more diagnosis and then surgery". Which further cements my thoughts.

As for the rest, about Venous leak being a part of Peyronies.... You are not reading anything online about this i can see. There  is plenty of information and things to read here. And also on the urological association's websites. Knowledge is power and you should be getting informed as much as you can on this... If you did, you wouldn't be asking those questions you did.

Wilson

Pfract, Thanks for the reply. So, you mean that it is the part of peyronie and unfortunately, there is no cure for it? So, you mean the surgery is a crap for it, which do nothing? I think maybe he didn't mention that it's part of peyronie as he didn't want to upset me. By the way, I read information before about complex peyronie, but didn't separately read about venous leakage nor erectile dysfunction issues. Probably sometimes watched some information about that and that's all. About my traveling for Serbia, it was done for people who were curious about information related to Genital Urology in Serbia as there is no information about Serbia in this main forum. Hope, that my travel information to Serbia helped a bit to this main forum. Thanks.

Dear Friends, I don't know, but I started to doubt about Miroslav Djordjevic and his future possible surgery for me as he doesn't answer properly on my questions related to the surgery. I asked him if it's possible return my old member or at least similar, but he doesn't reply. He could have frankly said me like "sorry, we can't", but he doesn't answer me. Even he didn't directly answer to some my main questions during my consultation in his office and I don't know whether it related to his english language skills or not. By the way, It seems to me that he cares more about gender people rather than peyronie sufferers. I did not wonder that he rejected, because recently I read the Healthgrades's medical website reviews and similar american websites like "vitals", so people say that he can refuse to help with no reason. He even refused to american citizens, who live 5 minutes nearby his office in Alabama, Birmingham. Hi friends again. Continue my this post. I don't remember whether I mentioned it here or not, but I read the mixed reviews in "Healthgrades" related to Dr. Steven Morganstern in Atlanta, and some people say that he uses non-FDA approved methods, looking him untraditional doctor and he trying to sell his weird treatments in his office. So, it's weird and recently, few days ago his clinic replied me 6 months later by email and showed me a paper with a possible treatment plan they use in their clinic. I look on it and I doubt that this treatment plan will help to get me old and return my old man's health back. So, I doubt about it and better for me to go to the checked famous peyronie specialists like Dr. Laurence Levine in near future. Sincerely.
