Hi everyone. I plan on having plication with Dr. levine, however, after reading some concerning reviews online about patients claiming he took away their life, I am a bit concerned. Reviews are here:

Ruff,
Of the 2 links I see 6 upset people total. And one of them almost sounded like a duplicate to me. But besides that I understand your concern. I can tell you he treats hundreds of patients. It is understandable that a few will be upset. But without knowing their circumstances and what their expectations were, we don't know the context behind their comments.

I can only tell you personally for me that Levine is my doctor. I went to him as he does many surgeries per year vs. a doctor who only does a few surgeries per year. Levine is also among the top 5 doctors in the U.S. for treatment of Peyronies disease. When I went to him I did not go immediately for surgery. He wanted to try some non invasive treatments first. So I feel he takes a very methodological approach. With every visit he took time with me, and answered all my questions. I feel he is very caring about his patients so I don't understand the comments about him not being caring and money hungry.

I assume you had some initial consult and in the end you have to make the decision if he is caring for you. For me I feel he "saved me". Though I did end up doing surgery (as a last resort), he did correct my 70+ degree curve to nearly straight. And that was 12 years ago. I am still happy with the outcome and I still see Levine for my annual checkups.

Is he perfect.....  no one is. But from my perspective he is the most skilled and caring doctor that specializes in the treatment of Peyronies disease. for me I would not go to anyone else.

I have Dr Levine as my Dr. He was very personable and professional.  Everyone either likes or dislikes their doctor of choice. You have to be at ease with them. I always ask the Dr point questions and see how they respond. When I was looking for a Dr who specializes in hormone replacement  therapy it took me 4 doctors and 12 months before I found the right one 4 me.

Hey Ruff, I just had surgery with Levine 3 days ago. It's early for me, but I can tell you from my limited experience, so far, I can't say enough great things about him. For anyone who does something for as many years as he has, there's GOING to be some people who just are not happy, or even after the risks, get mad if it doesn't go their way. Dr. Levine makes it very clear that there's nothing 100% that he can guarantee, and he will go his best and all his skill to make you perfect, but your body may heal or reject the surgery, and you could run into issues down the line. That's the gamble. Look at it this way... Most people only get vocal with it's a negative. Out of the MILLIONS of air flights that are successful, you only hear about the crash. Don't worry, get fixed. Dr. Levine is amazing.
