Alternatives to L-Citrullin (acidity is affecting my teeth)
« on: December 14, 2020, 07:34:01 PM »

Hello all,

I recently started taking 1.5 g of L-Citrullin daily and I noticed that my teeth is being affected/being gaining some marks/coloration. Maybe because of L-Citrullin's acidity?

I thought it could perhaps be other supplements I take, but I don't think so.

I am not taking the malate form nor the powder one. Just pills.

Any suggestions/alternatives? Anyone with similar issues?

I am taking exactly the same, but have not noticed anything. As I understood, it was the powder or malyate that caused this. In theory, the tablet / capsule should not affect teeth

Sounds like you’re suffering from GERD if you’re taking the pills.

Just take arginine... or try pine bark or red ginseng.

I thought about that, but I not feeling anything usual in my stomach, but who knows, maybe that happens during the night.

I will try Arginine or L-Carnitine, as I read Arginine can cause hair loss.

Never heard of pine bark or red ginseng. Same effects? Thank you

GERD is often unnoticeable and happens at night. Do your teeth tend to hurt in the morning?

Avoid taking the pills on an empty stomach. Yes those supplements are effective for blood flow and erections.

Sometimes they hurt, yes. Some other days, no. It really depends

Thank you for the help!

A lot of supplements, esp. amino acids have an acid pH.

Just take some sodium hydrogen carbonate along with your supplements, that's alkaline so it will help rebalance all the acids out.

Does the job for me.

I will do that. How do you do it? Do you take dissolved into water?

Yep, just put a small amout (i ususally take the tip of a teaspoon) in mineral water. It will dissolve. Has a nice refreshing taste as well usually.

Here's the chemical formula: NaHCO3

Maybe in English the right term is sodium bicarbonate. Just google NaHCO3 and look on wiki what's it called on Portugese. ;)

just buy empty capsule and a capsule machine and encapsulate your citrulline.
