Sounds like the Titan works great.

BTW, Clavell has a great Youtube channel. His results look great: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0gihPvQs3KFaWPdK8FXaHg

Makes me want to reconsider going with Eid but we'll see.

Best.

That hits me as an interesting if not strange comment.  Do you suspect he is better or as experienced as Dr. Eid ????

Hawk,

A couple of things as to why i would consider Clavell over Eid.

First is his infection protocol. With Eid he will place a semi-rigid to hold the space and then wait and then put in a smaller device. But take a look at Clavell's protocol: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXSoCj1aPl8

He takes out the device and then has you do VED every day and then puts in the same size device.

Second Texas is cheaper to stay in than NYC.

Then he's younger and i'm fairly young so i will need revisions so perhaps it's better to have him do the virgin surgery.

To each their own but Eid has the lowest infection rate in the industry and innovated the no-touch system for implant surgery..  I do not discount Dr. Clavell but no one will retain size any better than Eid on either an initial implant or a replacement.  No one will straighten a deformity any better with just an implant and relief incisions. NO ONE is more accessible by phone 24/7 should you need to talk to him.

If travel is an issue and I lived in Texas, that is very legitimate but if you are withing 4 hours of Eid it only takes a one night stay prior to surgery.  I rode home 4 hours straight from recovery.

For now i'm sticking with Eid. But the infection protocol is my biggest concern.
Hawk, did Eid do a relief incision on you? Was one of the things i was wondering. I see Kramer do it all the time but was curious about Eid's approach there.

Yes he did make several small relief incisions on one side at the base.  With moderate deformity he does an initial inflation to judge the correction of any deformity then does incisions if called for.  He might do them in advance when he fixes a penis with greater deformity.  He has correct bends of literally 180 degree bend.

PS: I am probably going to spit these posts into a seperate topic since we somewhat side-tracked Kickit40's topic.

Did he deglove your penis? If so, how different is this procedure you received from a sliding technique?

My penis was not de-gloved.

I speculate that he can expose the base of the penis through the incision in the scrotum since that was my only external incision.

Hawk,

So your indentation was at the base of the penis? Also, you got the sliding techinque done? If so, was it done by Dr. Eid?

This video is interesting from Dr. Clavel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ferc2qRK5Lc

Talks about a "technique", sliding technique perhaps? Where the patient got a 4cm increase over their previous implant. Apparently very aggressive sizing. Just interesting.

No.  Every discussion I had with Dr. Eid before surgery discussed only an implant.  I was awake during surgery.  He pumped up the implant and was not satisfied with a tilt it had to one side, so he deflated and cut some relief incisions near the base.  I have no incision other than a minimal scrotal incision on the raphe that was totally invisible within a month of surgery.  Dr. Eid has straightened severe bends with nothing more than an implant and no extra incisions.  Look at the photos at the start of this topic. https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php?topic=11204.new

So, the Doctor Clavel performs sliding technique?
29 year old. I was taking 400 Mg spironolactone to treat hair loss. Xanax withdrawal in combination with spironolactone shrunk my penis from 6" to 4".
I am seeking information about the sliding technique.

Hawk, I've seen you mention your 4-hour drive after your surgery with Dr Eid. Do you mean the same day you drove home? Or someone else drove you?  I'm even closer to him than that, do you recommend this? If Covid keeps sticking around I'd love to do a surgery without having to stay in a hotel.

How did you do a follow up appointment? Video chat or did you drive back?

And as for Clavell vs Eid, obviously Eid is the gold standard but it seems for the younger guys looking at a minimum of 3-4 surgeries, Clavell is a great choice too. Almost Eid 2.0

Thanks

My wife drove me.  I think it would be difficult not to get a night in a hotel because surgery could be early, and you would have to drive in and get driven back.

I don't think the age of a patient has anything to do with a surgeon.  Surgeons do revisions on each other's patients all the time.  We never know when a surgeon will move, die, or retire.

I don't know, the video doesn't specify. It might have just been aggressive sizing but I don't know.

I'm copying the link shrunken_dick posted in a separate post here: https://dl.uswr.ac.ir/bitstream/Hannan/73751/1/2018%20JSM%20Volume%2015%20Issue%2010%20October%20%2812%29.pdf

Apparently, Dr. Clavell does indeed do the sliding technique. In fact he does the modified sliding technique which seems to be somewhat safer in regards to glans necrosis. A mean gain of about 3cm was achieved - which is relatively good. From the pictures it looks like the results are excellent.

Now, i don't plan on needing or asking for the sliding technique. I've been doing very extensive traction therapy. Take a look at this case: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21091884/

The patient did 20min VED and 8 hours of traction per day and gained 2.6cm. I have seen some clear gains on my end and my penis is longer than it was pre-Peyronies Disease - however noticeably thinner.

For girth, i'm doing VED with my DP-4000 ~1hr per day - with pulse pumping i can do longer sessions. I've also been prescribed PGE1 which is known to increase penile girth and delink collagen in the penis. With a coloplast titan xl my goal is to have 6in girth. The thing that terrifies me the most is of course infection.

Dr. Clavell does seem to be world class and while i'm happy with Dr. Eid and don't want a sliding technique i think there's good reasons to go with Clavell.

I'm wondering if anyone here knows if Dr. Eid does grafting and incision? I have not heard much about it from him. I will ask at my next follow up. But i'm interested in regaining my girth with grafting and it seems like Dr. Clavell has extensive experience with it.

I don't think i need lengthening thanks to the traction i've been doing. But the girth loss is still mentally distressing. I must say the pictures from Dr. Clavell's surgery result pictures look excellent.

I think it makes sense to at least have a consultation with him before committing to anything.
