I have been dealing with ED and potentially Peyronie's for close to two years since I injured my penis while flaccid.  I am only 38 years old but ready to get my sex life back on track.

Everything I've tired hasn't had much success and exhausted from thinking about it all the time.  Been to plenty of urologist, have had three dopplers with no sign of plaque, and oral meds help somewhere.  I haven't lost much size (if at all) but I now have about a 30 degree bend which from the start of the bend to the tip doesn't fully get hard enough for penetration.

I have consulted with Dr. Clavell in which I have an implant surgery schedule for December 16th.  Insurance has also approved the surgery which is a big relief.

Is there any there I should be thinking about prior to surgery or need to know?  I have been reading the board for close to two years with a focus on penile implants recently.

I really appreciated any comments or thoughts.

Congrats on making a decision.  Do you know anything about this doc, how many  implants they do each year?  Do they prefer AMS or Coloplast or leave it up to you?  Has the doc estimated your post implant length and girth?  That's where I'd start.

Tony,

Dr. Clavell has done over 300 implants which he only does implants one or two days a week.  His website says he does over 100+ year.

He can do either an AMS or Coloplast but he feels the Coloplast would be best for me.

No, he hasn't estimated my post implant length.  He says cannot guarantee length and girth post after the implant but he does maximize dilating with saline prior to inserting the implant and tends to oversize the implant.

He has only had 2 infections over 300 implants.

Please let me know if there is something else I should be asking.

Appreciate the help.

Congrats. Clavell seems legit and I've been really interested in talking to him. I'm currently consulting with Eid. What are your measurements now?  Good luck!

Congratulations kickit40,
I can't think of anything else at this point to ask.
I think more and more people are seeking implants to resolve sexual issues for a good reason, because we can!
I congratulate you on posting a pic, as it will help others that have similar issues to move forward too.
I suffered for 5 years before discovering the implant solution. It has change my life.
Take measurements if you can and more pictures is better than too few. Take the pics from various angles too as it will help you see the huge difference once you are healed.
Good luck and stay in touch. I am very excited for your new chapter in life.

That's great he is high volume and has a low infection rate!

Considerations for the Titan: smallest pump and most girth.  However, tends to look semi-erect when flaccid-at least for awhile.  I had both and prefer the Titan   With smaller pump and max girth.

Congrats on your decision and please keep us posted.

It looks like you have made your decision and that you have done reasonable research about your surgeon.  I too would recommend a Titan since it has more rigidity/straightening power.

Hopefully your surgeon does not stack rear tip extenders and would use no more than one (on each cylinder).  A greater portion of the implant is inflatable if he moves up in cylinder length rather than using RTE's

Hawk,

In speaking with Dr. Clavell he tries to minimize RTE's but says sometimes they are necessary in order to occupy the entire space of the penis.  For example: If your penis measures 22cm, he will try to put in a 22cm cylinders without RTEs rather than doing a 20 cm + 2 RTEs.  The only way he would put in RTE in that situation is if your measurements are mostly proximal and want to avoid a high riding pump.

I do appreciate the information you have put forth as it guided me in asking the right questions.

Thanks.

Luis - my measurements off the top of my head are: Length 6.75" to 7" & Girth 5.75" to 6"

I will get some more exact measurements prior to the surgery.
