I'm 60, circumcised, & married for 22 years. I have three children, two of whom are in elementary school and one who is in middle school. My wife is 13 ½ years younger than I am. I haven't developed an erectile dysfunction. We usually have intercourse at least once per week, but the curvature has finally required some unwelcome adjustment. My wife has been quite supportive, though.

At the end of 2019, I first noticed a small, round mass, about ½-way down my penis and mostly in the very middle of its mass, though perhaps slightly dorsally-oriented. By January, 2020, my erections could be somewhat painful, but not intolerable.

By March, 2020, there was some curvature noticeable, upon erection. I saw a urologist who diagnosed Peyronie's Disease. I wish I had found this forum and started some traction, then. He offered the range of treatment options, up to and including surgery. He seemed straightforward about the prospects, in keeping with the tone and temper of what I read here and elsewhere.

The urologist suggested that there would be a stabilization and likely dissipation of pain.

He was right.

By August, 2020, I had achieved a 90-degree curvature, when erect, but without pain, though the impact of my wife's and my sex life has been that vaginal intercourse, while still possible, is a careful affair.

I've tried nothing, to date, save for some hand traction, only in the last week, after discovering this site and watching a YouTube, courtesy of NeoMan.

I do have insurance and a willing to try anything, but, after also watching a video about the surgical correction of Peyronie's Disease (the procedure I watched included using some tissue taken from an incision made to the perineum to replace where plaque had been removed), which included the "de-gloving" (that's the term used in the narration of the removal of the skin all around the penis – yikes!) of the penis, I am encouraged to do what I can that would be less invasive.

Thus, here I am, ready to do whatever I can in order to return to as great an amount of normalcy as I might, in my most optimistic, possibly achieve.

Welcome aboard!  I developed a fat 90 degree curve in April at age 42.. also watched those very surgeries.. and yes, YIKES!  Hang in there, its a marathon, not a sprint.

You need to have in mind that surgery for a bend like yours (90 degrees) can have some bad consequences, like erectile dysfunction.
I really don't like these surgeries that require grafting. I've seen so many complications caused by that. Plus, there's no blood flow in the grafting.

Tally, I'd start by reading the survival guide and then bring your questions here.  To avoid surgery I'd try traction, pentox and 50mg generic viagra nightly for at least 6 months—all to remodel plaque to healthy tissue.  I'm more optimistic about excision and grafting as I've had it done—but you need a very experienced surgeon w lots of experience w this surgery,  I used Dr Karpman in Mountain View.  Of course it depends where you live and if insurance will cover the doc and surgical center.

Hey Tally, I also had 90 degree curve to the left and to be honest with you I don't believe VED + traction + meds is going to give you anywhere near significant results you may want. I came to this realisation and opted for the LUE procedure (grafting). Whilst it is invasive, even more so if you need circumcision, which I didn't, providing you have good erections, which will be measured when you have the ultrasound, then you shouldn't suffer with ED.
I would recommend as Tony did that you find the best possible surgeon who does this kind of procedure a lot. I have heard of some horror stories after having the same procedure with less experienced surgeons.
Good luck!
55 years old 5 months post op LUE procedure with Prof Ralph in London to fix 90 degree bend to left. Currently doing Traction and VED to gain back 2 inches lost in length, which is going well. Taking daily Cialis and having great erections and sex.

If your doc recommends circumcision during the surgery, find another doc who is experienced and can avoid this.

Sorry call a urologist and lets face it you will need surgery to fix a 90 degree curve.I had grafting and I'm glad I got all that plaque removed and then a patch over my penis part that had  the bend.I almost killed myself using weights trying to pull it straight as well.Go get surgery if you can
