Efficacy of generic Sildenfanil (Viagra) and Tadalafil(Cialis)

I've purchased generic tadalafil from river pharm in the past and it's done it's job.. sort of, but I feel like it doesn't work quite as well lately.  Today I took a prescription Viagra tablet for the first time in a very long time just to see if it made a difference, a very old pill too, and noticed it made me get noticeably harder and stayed up longer without stimulation compared to the generic 20 megalis.  Has anyone else noticed a difference in potency between the generics and the real thing?   I'm contemplating on ordering generic viagra, but would like to hear some feedback first before I commit to spending

Is it a generic from a retail pharmacy that requires a prescription or a mail order one that does not?  If it's the latter, you're never sure what you are really getting.  If it's the former there shouldn't be a difference, but some patients report a difference.

I never took cialis, so I can't speak from experience. What I've heard is cialis was just tweeked a little from its viagra predecessor to have a longer than 3 hour half life is all. Viagra certainly works, if you don't mind the stuffy nose it causes, but I usually forget to take the one at night that doctor gave me to prepare for Xiaflex injections. I don't really notice much of a difference with or without it.
