Had surgery years ago, and wondering about after complications

Hello all.   I'm new to this forum, only recently having decided to seek out some information and help.  Any suggestions or information anyone can give me would be most appreciated.

I had surgery years ago (about 15) to correct a very pronounced, downward, congenital curvature.  I think this means it was not Peyrone's disease exactly, but the condition produced a similar result.  I was about 18 at the time.  I wasn't sexually active at the time, but was convinved the curvature would have made it difficult, and was very embarrassed and ashamed by it.  (Looking back, I think I was probably right that it would have made sex difficult.)

I had what I think it called a nesbit procedure, in which a portion of the long side is cut out, and sewn together to pull the penis straight.  The result was that my penis became straight, but it had some unfortunate side effects.   Where as before, my erections had been as hard as a rock, they became only somewhat firm, and harder to maintain.  And my penis didn't maintain its elevation when erect.  Before, it had stuck straight out then curved downward.  Afterward, it was straight but hung loosely and somewhat downward.  And finally, after sex, my penis returns to its normal size in an uneven manner, resulting in a weird looking curvy shape for a while.  Not a huge problem, but embarrassing.

Has anyone else experienced any of these symptoms?   I probably should have looked for help sooner, but at the time, I was so traumatized by the whole process that I just sort of wanted it to go away.  I've finally gotten to a place where I'm a bit more comfortable talking about it, and I was thrilled to discover this forum.  Any experiences, advice, or whatever that you might be able to share would be most appreciated.

Thank you.

I don't think you can go wrong by using a VED.  There is a lot of information about it on this forum.  Read it all before you start, don't overpump the pressure and it will be a great benefit to you.

I have been using it for almost a year now and have seen a lot of improvement in the degree of curvature, overall size of my erections (mainly in girth) and decrease in pain associated with erections and intercourse.  Good luck.

I had surgery relatively recently, and I can vouch for some of the same side-effects. My erections are now regaining some of their strength with use of the VED and some therapeutic Cialis. The shape of my penis IS quite a bit different from before, with a lumpiness that wasn't there before - and, like you, it doesn't seem to deflate at an even rate. I am also using traction therapy, and the results I have been seeing in a short couple of months from the combination of therapies have been very encouraging.

A VED is a pump?  And traction therapy is a kind of stretching exercise?   Did your doctor prescribe or recommend these various measures post surgery?   I've always been wary of doing anything like that because I was afraid that it might cause damage, given the scarring and prior surgery.

Thanks for your comments.

The 6 week period following surgery is a time for healing and caution. My doctor did recommend using traction AFTER this period was over. I had excision and grafting and the traction was to help keep the graft tissue stretched and plicable as it was "settling in". My doctor particularly wanted me to use traction during months 3 through 6 post surgery. I'm quite pleased with the results 2 years later.
