Hey guys. Had final ultrasound today, and an implant is my last & only option, probably with an "adjunctive" excision & grafting. All I need to do now is get the bloodworks done, and then we can schedule surgery (1 to 2 month lead time I'm told)

Today my urologiist showed me the two brands of implants; I 'd never seen an actual one previously, just pix. She is leaving it up to me whether I want the Coloplast "Titan" or the AMS device. As an engineer in the auto industry, to my eye the Coloplast just seemed to be the superior unit from a design, engineering and quality standpoint. I've tentatively chosen the Coloplast for "instalation", but I would love to hear input & opinions from some guys on here who have had this procedure - which do you prefer & why?

I really aporeciate any thoughts & advice etc you guys can share, as I'm already getting nervous as f*ck about this... It's a pretty damn big deal, and there's no going back, so I wanna do everything I can to help ensure success.

Thanks!!!
45, diagnosed May '18. Determined nor a cansidate for Xia Dec '18. 40 bend to R, 20 bend up, indent with hinge effect. Lost about 1.25" length. No girth loss. Probably looking at surgery. Follow up with Dr. Liroff at Henry Ford Hospital Sep 10, 2020.

Well, if you read some of our journals you will learn a lot as different guys have different models.
I think the difference for me was in choosing the Titan was I wanted something very rigid and not much bend. For me it was picking something that I knew would do the job and take the pounding, lol. I use mine at least twice a week and the spouse likes to the girth and strength of the Titan.
The Titan has a smaller more natural pump which makes healing easier and depending on your loss can actually help restore some of it. I liked the Titan for giving me more girth. The Titan when deflated isn't as natural as the their competitor or so I have heard. The Titan when deflated has harder dog ears too, but I was not after appearance as much as performance. I had a hinge too, so the Titan when inflated gives me all the confidence I need to have hours of sex without worrying about anything but sex.
I can hang clothing on it, lol
Hope this helps, hit me up by private message and we can chat more if you like.

Totally agree with the others. Not everyone needs an implant to be happy with their sexual life. If you happy, stay the course for sure. It is way to big a decision to just up and go get one.

If, however, it is your only option, as it was mine. It is a recognized treatment for peyronies disease.

I saw 4 urologists before settling on the one who did my implant. Not one even seriously recommended xiaflex. If I wanted it, they would do it otherwise they did not see very good results and it has aggravated peyronies in some. All recommended the titan to fix my peyronies condition. To straighten, pull the plaque, and get rid of hourglassing.

It was a great option and fixed every issue. There are negatives as well as positives. I had 0 issues with it and hoped to use it for a long time. Loved it. Love pump. Small and easy to get to. Deflate button is harder to find as the part of pump it is on is small. Cylinders stuck out several months till they got soft enough to bend down over sac.

Had a problem with hernia surgery. Titan quit working. New urologist recommended lgx 700. Said titan was in long enough to fix peyronies. I was really nervous though but went ahead with the removal of the titan and replacement with the lgx.
Positives and negatives with it as well. Love it. Had it for 8 months. Cylinders were comfortable day 1, pump not much. It is pretty big compared to titan pump. Bangs into testicles a bunch.

Both get hard when I want. Both deflate when i want. No difference in nonpumped or pumped up length between the 2. Look the same length and girth.

40% of ED chances from surgery in your case or in general? Sorry for stepping in

Looks like only one side of my penis works

Jan, show us the research.  I don't believe you heard Dr Lue correctly.  Look up his studies on the Lue procedure.  He probably meant given your circumstances and condition there was a 40% chance of ED.

I have compared both endlessly over the past few years. I had an AMS and have a Titan currently. AMS is soft and has a natural feel but a scrawny little thing that does nothing for a bigger penis.  I hated the concrete block on top f their pump as it was bulky and painful as it fought with my right nut constantly.  I love the size and shape of the Titan pump. Very very comfortable.  I like the Titan is rigid, nearer my former size and the damn thing actually works, where the AMS was constantly hit and miss if it would work in the 15 months I had it, though it was starting to work a little better the week before it was removed. I do not like the clover leaf shaped reservoir with the Coloplast Titan.  I understand that the clover leaf shape helps to prevent encapsulation of the reservoir. Makes a lot of sense from an engineering aspect, but as time goes on and I start to build my abs back and at the end of the day working, the location of the reservoir is constantly painful.  Painful enough I have at times lately considered having it removed as it is a daily thing.  The last 2 years P.E.T. scans also show irritation around the reservoir.  If they would make an implant with the AMS (Boston Scientific) conceal reservoir, Coloplast Titan size AMS silicone implant cylinders, and the Coloplast pump, I would be first in line for the combination product.  AMS has good customer service as far as help getting it approved by insurance, Coloplast customer service just plain sucks. Be confident in your doctor and that they know what they are doing. Nothing worse than going to the quack-o-matic that shoes horses 2 days a week and works in a quick shop the rest. You don't want to do this over and over to get it right.

I was curious about lue procedure and found one study by the nih and published nationally.

51 patients did procedure. 50 or so mean degree bend.

47 patients , 92 % ended up straight.

4 patients, 8 % developed post op ed.

35 % had greater than 1 cm shortening. Rest less.

12 % said op affected intercourse.

Study said was a peyronies option.

This is what I found anyway.

The most important thing concerning implants is the SURGEON.
If you select a good surgeon, things should go well.
