Pre-plication surgery concerns... 16 days away

I'm looking for others who've already had plication surgery to answer this....

First off, I'm sorry for the graphic explanation but I need to know if anyone else had theses thoughts and concerns before plication surgery and how it turned out for them post-op.

I'm 46 years old, have been dealing with Peyronnie's for 2.5 years and I have Plication Surgery in 16 days. I have between 55-60 degree curvature, curving to the top left. I do not have an isolated plaque. It feels like a band that runs the whole length of my penis from the glans to the base and even into the base. I can even feel it in my perineum. As I get erect it gets more ridged to the point it feels like stone on that side. Luckily I do not have ED. I've completed 2 full rounds of Xiaflex (8 cycles each, a total of 16 injections). I've also completed 5 sessions of shockwave therapy. I've had no improvement. I just stay the same curvature. The shockwave therapy was very promising immediately from the first session but 3 weeks after the last session my penis went right back to the same degree of curvature and hardness. I'm now scheduled for plications surgery and I'm scared shitless.

I do not have pain when I'm 100% erect right now as long as I'm not trying to straighten it. When I'm 100% erect I cannot straighten my penis with my own hands. As I add pressure it will slowly straighten as I lose my erection. When it's finally straight I'm about 90-95% erect.

I only have pain during sex when I'm 100% erect and my girlfriend is having an orgasm. When this happens her insides are squeezing so hard it feels like her muscles are trying to straighten my penis. (Sorry for the graphics) Since I'm so rigid and it will not straighten immediately it causes me pain. I have to pull out. I cannot bear it.

Does anyone else have this problem?
My fearful thoughts are: When the doctor puts stitches on the opposite side I'm sure I'll be fine all the way up until I'm 90-95% erect. but as I go from 95-100% erect will I be in pain??? Did anyone else have this fear before plication surgery and how did it pan out afterward?

Also, my doctor is Dr. Khera from Baylor college of medicine in Houston, Texas. Has anyone else had Plication surgery under his hand?

Any help is much appreciated.

I had Plication surgery...with another doctor.  No you will not have pain when erect after you are all healed up. Like 10 weeks.

Here's the video of my surgery

Wow that was hard to watch. Thanks for sharing Benjamin62. I really appreciate that.

1. Did you have the same symptom of not being able to straighten your penis when 100% erect before surgery?
2. If so, did you have the same fear of pain thinking the stitch would not allow your penis to straighten pre-surgery?

I take it your surgery went well? I'm happy for you. How is life after your plication if you don't mind me asking?

Note: I'm not sure if I've replied correctly to your comment. If I don't get an answer then I'll send you a message. I'm still trying to figure this site out.

It is all good!  No pain. You will be absolutely fine.  It's time to rest your mind! The nightmare is almost over.  Peace

Thanks Benjamin62. I'm not really a religious man but I just said a prayer before eating breakfast. I asked him for peace and then I checked your message and you ended it with "Peace". I even slept better after reading your message last night. Again, much appreciated.

Bakeratj1,

I am considering having plication surgery in the event that the other treatments I am trying do not work.

So, when I had an appointment with my urologist this morning, I made sure to ask him this specific question on your behalf (although I framed it as though I was asking it on my own behalf).

He was quick to answer that there would be no pain BUT there may be a small amount of tension when fully erect.

Not sure if that answer helps you in any way, but I just thought I would pass on his answer.

Best of luck with your surgery, I sincerely hope you get a positive outcome.

Please keep us updated on your outcome.

Bill2020,

I really appreciate you asking your doctor for me. That very considerate of you!

Sorry about the PRP complications. I haven't done that. I've had PRP in other joints in my body and most of them had great results. With Peyronie's I've had around 30 injections into my penis and I'm just worn out with the torture. I'm looking forward to the surgery. Unfortunately, I'll probably push it out until I finish the training I'm involved with right now. I think it's the better choice even though I'm reluctant.

I'll definitely keep you updated on my process.

I recommend giving shockwave therapy a try. My doctor uses the "MTS UroGold 100". I think that's where these doctors need to put more attention. I had immediate results after the first treatment. By the time I finished my 5th session I was having sex with zero problems with increased sensitivity. Unfortunately after 4 weeks my penis went right back to the same old same old. If I do postpone my surgery I'll probably go back for a couple more treatments of that so I can at least enjoy life while I wait a bit longer.

Note: It's proven to improve Erectile Dysfunction with no side effects. There are no side effects for the Peyronie's applicator either. Here is a study saying it improves Peyronie's Disease curvature but it was only temporary for me. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2050052120300317

Best of luck in all your treatments!

Just out of curiosity, when you're extremely erect do you have the same problem of not being able to straighten it? I'm just curious if that is the norm for this disease.

Bakeratj1,

I'm just a newbie here, so please make sure you take that into account when reading my answer.

My understanding is that you should NEVER try to bend your erect penis (you may cause significant irreversible damage).

In terms of what the norm is for the disease, I am not sure.  I can only tell you about my personal situation.

My curve only begins to appear when I'm about 60% erect (and then, worsens as I get more erect).

So, when I am at 100% erect my curve is at a maximum (25degrees).

Although I sometimes have difficulty MAINTAINING an erection without any manual stimulation, actually GETTING an erection - especially now that I am on a daily low dose of Cialis - is generally not a problem.

Also (generally speaking) I get very hard when aroused.

Although I have never really tried, I dare say that I would have very little hope of straightening my fully erect penis.

I hope that helps.

Thanks Bill2020,

I'm just trying to figure out if that's the norm. I got on here when I first started getting treatment but then got off and only referred to the Doctor's opinion. I know how we can google anything and drive our human psyche crazy so I kept that to a minimum.

Now that everything has failed and I'm scheduled for surgery I'm doing last minute fact-finding. Probably because I'm scared shitless subconsciously. smh lol

Last night, I was going to postpone it and this morning I want to go through with it. Wow. smh

Thanks for your input. Best of luck to you though this mess of Peyronnie's Disease. I wouldn't wish this on my worse enemy. I'll post updates to help others with their decision.
