Does being fat cause Peyronie’s?
« on: October 17, 2020, 09:06:40 AM »

I only developed Peyronie’s when I became overweight in the last 2 years. I weighed around 80-83 kg with a height of 176 cm which is kinda fat. Is there a correlation? I regret it that I became so fat, makes me even more depressed

Yes, it’s strongly associated with metabolic dysfunction. More men have it in the southern US for this reason, likely. Interesting, and contrarily, thin guys may have it worse since insulin resistance is strange in this way (obesity is the correct response yada yada). But yeah being fat is a huge risk factor.

first vitamin d, then penile anxiety, then being fat, youve made 4 posts making yoursekd a hard time and guvrn yourself the fault for having peyronies disease. no being fat does not cause peyronies disease, yiu have a perfectly average snd normal weight dor your height, a little above the median but certainly not obese and also, being a little overeeight does not mean that you have high blood sugar or diabetes to say tge least. we talked about this in pm also

Is my weight bad enough to be a risk factor?

@peter yes true, many fat guys don’t develop Peyronie’s, but maybe me being overweight facilitated the development of my Peyronie’s

What do you mean with thin?

My BMI fluctuated between 26-27 in the last 2 years but I do have above average muscle mass in my body. Does this still put me at a higher risk? I had multiple blood tests in the last 2 years and glucose was always fine at around 80

I think I‘m ending it all. I just noticed a new lump on the base of my penis. Maybe from a VED injury I had 2 months ago. It feels like a tumor. [email protected]< this crap. This is what I get for trying to cure it. I will never touch my dick again. When I stand up with an erection, my penis literally points to the left. There is no definite curve, it just points to the left

What even keeps me alive now? I failed at life. I want to chop my dick off, this useless piece of crap

Where did my happiness go? Why was I robbed of my health? What did even do to deserve all of this crap. I am so heartbroken. Where the [email protected]< did this new lump come from? You guys recommended me VED and I ended up injuring my penis with it. Thank you!!

BMI over 25 is considered overweight, but obesity doesn’t start until 30. Your BMI is only slightly over the Upper Limit of normal weight by 1-2 points, and definitely you are not obese. Either way, even being obese  is not a risk factor for Peyroines. No way. That’s not even on the list.  There are plenty of thin people with Peyroines, plenty of overweight people without it. Diabetes is listed on Wikipedia as a „risk factor“, a very misleading phrase, by which they simply mean a correlation exists between a condition and Peyroines, but there is a lack of sufficient proof to label it causation. But, diabetes is just one of several „risk factors“,  along with genetics and European heritage.

The difference between correlation and causation is important to keep in mind. Just because two things happen at the same time, doesn‘t mean one caused the other. That’s just correlation. Sure, as the correlations stack up the suspicion raises that might point to causation, but as it stands now, we only have certain correlations with Peyroines and no proven causation. The cause of Peyroines remains unknown.

Diet, vitamin or mineral deficiency, are not even on the correlation list for Peyroines. Insulin resistance, which is a cause of diabetes 2 is probably in that respect a „risk factor“ for Peyroines but that’s all. It’s never been proven alone to be a direct cause.

Grag, how do you know your lump was caused by the VED and not just Peyronie’s progressing?  Did you over pump and cause an injury?

I don’t smoke, i don’t Drink, I am not obese. How on earth did I get this disease? Autoimmunity doesn’t even run in my family. Something truly derailed in my life. I shouldn’t be suffering from all these problems. These problems aren’t in my genetics.. maybe accutane really was the culprit for all my suffering; given all the negative reports on Internet forums

Tell me one reason to keep going. I just realized how rare this disease actually is. I cannot begin to understand that I am actually suffering from this devastating disease. It’s the worst disease a young man can have. Period. The reason why I’m trying to find out what caused my case is because realistically speaking I shouldn’t have gotten this disease, given all my health and genetics parameters. How is this disease so rare? I am beyond f'~c<+d up mentally. I cannot cope with this disease. It’s the core of manhood. Without my penis I am worthless to the female gender. I never even really got into dating and meeting women. I just had one girlfriend and apparently this happened.

It was truly over for me before it even began.

I cannot cope with this. It’s not something a 23 year old guy should be suffering from. I would exchange my situation with stage 3 cancer in a heartbeat

I don’t know what went wrong in my life. Maybe I should have been more religious, maybe I shouldn’t have performed sex with my ex gf.

This life is not worth living. I am close to finishing University but i cannot imagine living further 60 years with this disease. My life was over before it even began.

This is the most devastating disease a man can experience. I cannot believe the medical community hasn’t yet done everything in their power to cure this disease

You make a lot of good points, graggaxy. There hasn’t been enough research into this devastating disease I think because it’s not lethal, and second because no one who should Care, like doctors and scientific researchers, don’t really think  much about male sexuality. They just shrug their shoulders and say, „Oh well. Nature isn’t always fair I guess.“ But, if something like this affected women, I think doctors and researchers would be going nuts trying to find good treatments or a cure. I definitely think there is a pro-female bias in medicine.

There are a few good doctors who devote their lives to Peyroines research and treatment, like Tom Lue at UCSF, and a few of his disciples. But, those guys are rare and hard to find, unfortunately.

There is not a pro-female medicine bias in medicine.  In fact, it’s just the opposite—google gender bias in medicine-you’ll see.  Why do we men find the need to blame women?

We have to start a Price pot for whoever finds a cure. Imagine a 1 million price for whoever cures the disease. Researchers need to have an incentive to cure this disease. I can’t cope with this disease, I don’t know how you guys do it. Seems like you already lived a good life before this happened. I haven’t
