Dear buddies,
I have lost almost 1.5 inches on my penile length due to low testosterone and benzo withdrawal. I am noticing that the area near the base of my penis is not expanding properly and has lost elasticity. I would go to any extent to restore my length. I am seeing a urologist, and he does not believe in my penile atrophy part. Therefore I am seeking your help. Please tell me which medical test can tell that I have some scar tissues/fibrosis/loss of elasticity near the base of my penis. I am feeling suicidal. This benzo withdrawal has robbed me my life. Please help.

have you actually measured your penis before and after? 1.5 inches sounds gigantic for low testosterone and benzo withdrawal. could it also be length loss dependent on erection quality?

I used to be 6.25 approx and now I am below or equal to 5". My pituitary gland failed and my test level were extremely low. I tried 100 mg viagra but nothing changed. Do you think pumping and traction can restore my length.

Yes, I take measurements after getting rock hard solid. Did you lose length because of Peyronies? You are a senior member please help me out.

Shrunken-dick,

Low testosterone maybe, but I don't understand how benzo withdrawal could cause penile length shrinkage. And then I would have thought the low testosterone would have had to been during adolescence, rather than later in life. Benzos have nothing to do with the penis or overall blood flow, to my knowledge. I could ask a doctor I know, but I'm almost sure he'd say the answer would be no way, totally unrelated.

You are on a Peyroines board, so I am correct in assuming you also have peyroines? Peyroines most definitely will shrink your dick, but benzos? Never heard of that. I have heard benzo withdrawal is horrible, but the alternative is just to keep taking the benzos. Maybe that is not an option for you. Either way, I sure can't see any connection to the penis.

The reason I say low testosterone in adolescence is a maybe, because there is a big growth spurt in penile length during adolescence probably or almost assuredly due to testosterone. But once that growth has reached its maximum, probably around 16 or so, and a lot depends on genetics, then that's about it. More or less testosterone wouldn't seem to me to have an effect any longer. There would be other effects of low testosterone after adolescence, but penile shrinkage shouldn't be one of them. How's the rest of your health? No diabetes, no heart disease, no blood pressure issues?

Thanks @Jan for replying me. Due to benzo withdrawal and low testosterone I didn't get a single erection in 1.5 year. My sex drive was gone.
Please read this story from another man. He had the same experience as me .

It would be a great help if you can ask your doctor about my condition.

I'll be glad to ask my doctor friend, but I don't think benzo withdrawal is related. Like I said, I never heard low T did this in adults, but I'll have to ask. It could be coincidental as there could be other things going on too like fibrosis (peyroines starting, etc).

It's obvious low T would cause a major reduction in libido and erections, however.

Transgender people experience atrophy because of low testosterone. I have seen this happening to many.

Shrunken_dick,

I did ask my doctor friend about your condition. He said there is now way your benzo withdrawal could have had anything to do with your penile shrinkage. He just simply said, "No way." And he is a board certified internist with a subspecialty in addiction medicine and has treated hundreds of patients who underwent benzo withdrawal. He has over 20 years experience.  He agreed with me about the low testosterone too. I said it made sense if you had low testosterone as an adolescent during your growth years (ending around 16-18) when your full genetic penile endowment was still developing (I.e, your penis was in its growth stage), that low T could prevent your penis from fully reaching its max size. In other words, low T levels then could result in a reduced penile length that otherwise might have developed. But, if you developed low T levels later in life, after your growth phase, and after your penis had reached its full length anyway, just low T alone would have no effect on penile size. Peyroines or any sort of fibrosis would of course cause shrinkage because Peyroines plaques just causes contraction.

@Jan; thank you for helping me out. I would go for a penile doppler test to see if there is any plaque or fibrosis is present.

I think going for the Doppler to look for fibrosis or plaque would be a good idea.

@Jan ; How does the fibrosis show up in the doppler test? I feel like I have fibrosis all along the shaft.

I'm no doctor or one who can read ultrasounds, but I'm sure seeing fibrosis or plaque on one would be easy. Urologists can normally just feel the plaque from Peyroines anyway.

@Jan ; you were right. I see a very slight curve is developing towards the base of my penis. Now I am terrified.

It is well known that lack of daily erections for many years will cause shortening of the penis. Best bet is to use a vacuum pump daily, Cialis, and traction.
Injury in April 2020. Onset of ED.
Started RestoreX and VED 2 months after injury.
Taking 10mg daily cialis, pentox, coq10, vit-e.
Traction (+1 inch)/VED/PGE-1/DMSO+X

shrunken_dick

@Luis; do you think I would be able to restore some of the lost length?

Yes, but it will take a long time. Many months of daily usage.
You can look up protocols but i believe for ED you can do twice a day for 10 minutes @ 5hg max.

Extenders will make your penis longer but it may not be revitalizing old tissue, but remodeling scar tissue if you have it. It'll also pull out the inner penis and make it longer, but it's no guarantee your erectile potency will be back.

You should get your hormones tested: Testosterone, DHT, SHBG, etc. You can visit the https://forum.propeciahelp.com/ forum for more information. If your issues were due to medication that board may be more help.

I have a plaque at the base too, this is from a second injury i had in my sleep in April I believe. Shortening of almost inch and loss in girth so far.

He just felt it manually. I can feel pain when it is touched. There is a kind of hard chord that runs the length of the dorsal left side, and i feel the plaque at the base along that. Also have 2 others on either side just below the glans.

My doppler test came out perfectly normal even though I am seeing a new curve at the base of my penis. I think low testosterone made my erectile tissue to atrophy.

Had a second ultrasound done and he said it appears my plaques are gone. Just goes to show that it is hit and miss with that stuff. My penis is significantly worse since the first ultrasound. Maybe the calcium is gone i dont know, the thing that we end up finding out through this process is the doctor knows less than u about it.

Do you also get ED because of Peyronies? Do you have any shrinkage?

I have lost length and girth. I take cialis and pentox, i can have strong erections, i notice in some instances they take abit longer to fill out. Not sure if id get such strong boners without the meds. Pre-peyronies i sometimes had issues, pretty sure they were psycological as during those years i was going through alot of hardships.

I fear I may have corporal fibrosis which the ultrasound is not able to detect.

I believe i have corporal fibrosis as well. My symptoms are loss of size girth and length, loss of sensation throughout areas of my penis, almost feel like a shell around part of it. When masturbating i can ejaculate but i i do not feel much around my penis, it is very hard and inflexible. Like im handling a rigid piece of wood. The glans fill out but also subside. It is very tight. Alot of pain i was experiencing before seems to be subsiding. Im going to start trying VED, and my new doc prescribed me colchicine to help the inflammation subside. Maybe abit late for this cuz I think my peyronies pain is starting to go away. I raised questions with my old uro about low flow priapism but he just ignored me. I had instances where i woke up and my penis was super engorged and huge a few times, it seemed like i had a big dick for awhile. Seems that was short lived cuz it went away and then all this stuff started happening. Maybe i had another injury, maybe it was the cialis cuz i would get very hard boners with it sometimes abit too strong. I really dont know, except i feel like I have botched my whole opportunity to treat myself. My new uro says only way to 100% see fibrosis is erection induced ultrasound. They will see if u have corporal fibrosis or if ur plaques are calcified.

Bud luck

After 14 months or more with issues, I still don't know what I have. They did a Doopler test with my penis being semi-erectand they didn't feel anything "abnormal", in order to get the real picture, we probable have to get a colour ultrasound to see if we have a fracture, corporal or tunical fibrosis.....
My first symptoms started early in 2019
I tried Traction device, Pentofixiline, Q10, TRT, L-Argenine, cialis
I have narrowing/dent/hinge on the left side of my shaft
My ED is getting worse
Had a PRP shot Aug 2021
I have a girlfriend
