Hello!

Question

What is likely to be the cause of my curve (and potential solutions).

Current situation

- The curve appeared in 2010 (after very light jelqing, more like gentle massage!)
- The left side of the penis is much harder then the right.
- It feels like the left side is made from a stronger and more ridgid material than the right - a thick rubber band!
- The curve is mild during erection but it can be significant when semi-erect.
- When semi-erect, it is difficult to bend the penis to the right but very easy to the left.
- No hard lumps.
- No pain.

Urologist

I have seen two urologists who have come to two very different conclusions.

Urologist 1: You have Peyronies.
Uroogist 2: You DEFINITELY do not have Peyronies!

My opinion

I have gone back and forth whether the hardness is related to jelqing or not. After all, sex and mastrubation can put way more stress on the penis than light jelqing/massage. Howver, I dont want to rule it out completely. This may be an important question to sort out since I consider start jelqing again as it has good effetcs on erection quality.

I do not feel its Peyronies since I do not have any lumps or feel pain.

I have been chocked at how difficult it has been to get a consistent and proper diagnosis. I will try to get a third opinion but at this point it almost seems pointless.

Whoa, many men have gotten Peyronies Disease or Erectile Dysfunction from jelquing.  What treatment have you tried?  How about low dose nightly generic cialis?  It can help w daily erections AND may improve EQ after 6-12 months of use.  It can also reduce any plaque you may have!  WIN, win, win!
PxD 2 yrs 9/16.  Failed all treatment. 9/11/18: excision, grafting & implant Dr Karpman MtnView Ca, AMS CX 18cm + 3-1cm RTEs.
Pump failed.  2/11/20 Dr Karpman installed Titan 22cm +1cm RTE.

You mention hardness issues...that's Erectile Dysfunction.  And curveature...if new then Peyronie's.  Jelquing causes both...what's your question or answer you're hoping for?

I usually agree with Tony, but I have to disagree on this one. In part at least.

Peyroines is a wound-healing disorder of unknown origins.

I'm no jelging advocate, but to say that it always causes Peyroines is just not true. Thousands of men all over the world have been jelging, or have been as rough as hell on their penises and never gotten Peyroines. And probably the majority haven't done a thing to their penis, other than just have sex, or masturbate, and still gotten Peyroines. And why the age differential? Some men here have Peyroines at 22, and others never got it (like I ) until 56. something like 90% of men never get it at all. Go figure that out. Yet, they all get trauma to their penises at some point in their lives. It's inevitable.

I had a urologist tell me once that Peyroines is trauma-related in probably no more than 1/3 of cases. In the other 2/3 it's unknown. Again, it's abnormal wound-healing, like keloids. Some have gotten facelifts and had a lot of loose skin removed from their faces.  All have scars from it, well-concealed. But, a few wind up with this big benign tumor where the skin was cut called a keloid. Why? Now, if the skin hadn't been cut, they wouldn't have gotten a keloid. But, why didn't everyone if they all had a cut on their face? Peyroines is akin to that. Is it trauma-related? Yes, and No.

The problem is that I do not even have a diagnosis! Nobody seem to be able to answer even the most basic of questions. It's ridiculous!

Jan, let me clarify...jelquing has caused ED and Peyronies Disease in many men—of course not every time.  Search here and you will find many men whose jelquing resulted in Peyronies Disease and/or ED.

Run, IF the curve was new in 2010–what else could it be other than Peyronie's?  How severe is the curve, has it changed since 2010 and does it present any problems w sex?  These are the important questions to move forward w a confusing diagnosis.

The curve is significant when semi-erect. Less significant when erect.
No change since 2010.
No hard lumps and no pain, which is the reason I dont think its Peyronies (and one of the urologist agree).

I thought the diagnosis of Peyronies and Congenital Curve would be the easy part. Now it has turned in to a multi year endeavour.

If it's not significant when erect and no worsening if you had Peyronies Disease it was mild and you're in the stable phase.  Great place to be-congrats

Urologists don't recognize early Peyronie's and even an ultrasound cannot diagnose it in my strong opinion. You describe what many men have, and what I first had before it got worse. I would begin taking measures to prevent it from worsening and reverse it. See a true Peyronie's specialist if you like.
