Lue procedure with Professor Ralph, last consultation today.
« on: August 25, 2020, 05:40:58 PM »

Have had Peyronies for over a year now. Ended up in stable phase with 90 degree curve to the left. Tried all the usual Vit E, CoQ10, VED, however none of these improved my curve. Ultimately decided on Lue procedure (incision and grafting) with Professor Ralph in London. Wind on 5 weeks after surgery, compression bandage for 9 days (nightmare when urinating, etc) and gentle stretching, massage and very light use of VED, I now have a completely straight penis and I am back to my pre op length. Albeit I have lost over 1.5 inches to this horrible condition.
Next week I will have sex with my wife, which believe you me cannot come soon enough. Being on daily 5mg Cialis has given me a constant erection and it has been absolute torture to have to stay away from her.
I have been very sceptical about having surgery. Now I can tell you it is the best thing I ever did. It has been life changing. I suffered with deep depression and turned to drink to hide my demons and now I can carry on life as normal.
The point of this conversation is to share with you that there Is light at the end of the tunnel.
Be sure to chose a good surgeon. Professor Ralph and team, I cannot thank you enough 🙏🏼

Congratulations!
I had Plication surgery with a synthetic graft (graft procedure was created by Tom Lue and only one other Dr in the states does it)... to remedy am hourglassing issue I had in addition to the bend.

I am incredible grateful to Dr Brian Christine in AL USA.  For me I try to pay it forward and give hope to other men.

It is treatable!!

I don't understand why people lose so much length that cannot be restored with incising and grafting. Aren't you releasing the scar tissue

I asked a doctor that and he said the scar tissue from Peyroines shrinks and contracts your penis. You can never get all the length back. You can get a little back with some of Dr Lue’s surgeries, but not all of it unfortunately.

Hi sky43diver.

I'm facing the same problems you had before the surgery: 90° degrees to left and hard to keep erection while having sex.

How do you feel after the surgery?
How much did you pay for it?

I'm considering this for me...

Thank you.

Dr. David Ralph position himself as a top specialist and not answers on e-mail? I understand that some doctors are busy with family etc. But, I wrote him few times and still no replies - not available. What’s going on? People, are you sure that he is a top specialist?

Hey Wilson, of course Professor Ralph is an expert in this field. I have never contacted him directly, apart from our face to face consultations. All correspondence goes through his secretary.
I would advise to organise a telephone consultation with him first and you can do this by calling the number on St Peter’s Andrology website. Good luck!

Glad everything went well for you.

I had the Lue procedure with a different surgeon, and the immediate aftercare was non-existent.  My dressing fell of within hours, and I left the hospital with no dressing.  Not told to massage and not told to do any stretching.  The result was that the graft contracted so I have lost around 2 inches in both erectile and flaccid length.

Prof Ralph has tried to help with flaccid length without success, but doesn’t recomend risking any further surgery to redo the Lue procedure

I put in a complaint about the original surgeon and aftercare from the hospital, but that was a year ago and I have had no response, even though I had an independent review.  Apparently they still haven’t received the results.  I’m contemplating contacted a solicitor...

Sorry to offload.

Really pleased that everything went well for you

I am so sorry to hear of your experience Pixie. The compression dressing is a critical phase of the aftercare as not only does it prevent too much swelling it also keeps the penis stretched out. My bandage was literally stitched on at the base and at the top of my penis, so there was no way it was coming off. Furthermore, you should have had a follow up appointment face to face to remove the dressing and this is when the recovery program should have been explained (light stretching, massage and very light use of VED). You should also have been prescribed daily Cialis to encourage night/day time erections to help maintain length and keep the blood flowing to help with the graft healing.
I have been very fortunate to have been able to have my surgery with Prof. Ralph and i feel blessed that things have turned out ok. Don't get me wrong, i have lost some length and i am doing daily manual traction, with heat therapy and VED and so far i am starting to gain the length that i lost. I have also just purcased the PMP and will start using this next week to make more gains.
I am surprised that Prof. Ralph did not recommend traction to you as this seems the logical best next move for you?
Regarding your procedure, was it private? If so and none of the above protocols regarding post op recovery were recommended or prescribed, i would absolutely be discussing this with my solicitor as a case of negligence of duty of care.
Good luck with whatever next steps you decide to take!

Hi Sky

Sorry I have replied sooner.  I’ve been taking a break as things have been getting to me a bit.

Yes, my procedure was done privately.  I have raised a complaint with the original hospital who sent me for an independent review.  Unfortunately neither the hospital or I have been able to get any response from the Dr since March.  So they are looking for another specialist to provide a report.  It’s really strange.

I keep thinking of contacting a solicitor, but not brought myself to do it yet.

Hope things are still good with you
