I encountered Peyronies Disease close to fifteen years ago and struggled with it until I finally got access to Pentoxifylline and discovered that the combination of Pentoxifylline and Ubiquinol (CoQ10) are dynamic and for the past 10 years I have been free of Peyronie's Disease which has never recurred since.  I would urge any of you who are newly diagnosed to get on this plan as soon as possible and don't waste any time as I did.  If your doctor refuses to prescribe Pentoxifylline for you, let people on this forum know where you are and they will refer you to someone who will prescribe if for you.  The combination I posted above will quickly give you relief from the awful effects of this horrible disease.

If for some reason you are unable to tolerate Pentoxifylline which can raise blood pressure, you should  try European Milk Thistle which, like Pentoxifylline also blocks TGF beta which is an inflammatory cytokine and which plays a major role in Peyronie's Disease.

Ubiquinol (CoQ10) works by blocking TNF-alpha which is also an inflammatory cytokine.

I wish you all the best and I want to encourage you not to lose hope, this disease can be defeated permanently and your symptoms likely will actually improve somewhat as you recover from it.

Interesting, is there a dosing regimen for EMT and Ubiquinol???

Is it the 80% Silymarin that has the benefit and power?

Wouldn't Milk Thistle be bad for Men?

It is an Androgen antagonist, thoughts???

Do you have any studies to cite or is this just anecdotal? It appears that there are 3 forms of CoQ-10. Ubiquinol is the 3rd form. According to Wikipedia Ubiquinol absorbs better than normal CoQ-10.

What are your dosage suggestions?

Thanks for the info. I'm 2 1/2 years in and thought it was too late to start pentox. Looks like I need to find a doc to prescribe it. I'm already on coq10.

If TGF-Beta is one of the causes of Peyronies Disease. And TGF-Beta is a cytokine. Then I wonder if I developed Peyronie's Disease because I got Covid-19?

Covid-19 creates a cytokine storm in the body. I got Covid in March and was very ill for months. I'm still not fully recovered.

@Tyoup: actually at the beginning of all this, me and @hope794 were postulating that a lot of men would get peyronie because of covid-19. I think HPV-16 was implicated in mine. We still really don't know much.

@George999

So what has been your durations of use with pentox and how did you do when you stopped taking it? Did it come back or anything?

Michiganguy19

Plenty of people have taken Pentax and Coq10 and had it do nothing. I spent over 200 a month on acetyl carnetine and ubiquenol, taking 4x the dose and it did absolutely nothing

How much did you take and for how long?

Also, can the OP please explain more about European Milk Thistle? I can't find any information about it supposedly being a TGF-Beta inhibitor like Pentox. All I can find about Milk Thistle is about it being a traditional medicine for liver issues.

European Milk Thistle is also known as Silymarin.

Here is another thread about Silymarin: https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php?topic=5364.0

It is one of the supplements used in this small study, which basically just seems to throw a bunch of different antioxidants in the mix: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5530853/

European Milk Thistle is also known as Silymarin.

This is false. Milk thistle is a plant and silymarin is a flavonoid derived from milk thistle plant.

You are right of course, Silymarin is the main active ingredient in milk thistle.

But when people talk about "taking milk thistle" I am assuming they are not eating the plant whole - they are talking about Silymarin capsules.

Wish everyone the best but if you're condition improved it prob wasn't because of anything oral you took. I've popped my share of pento and like my uro said "it's a BS drug but you can try it"

Xavier, some have benefited from pentox.  Just because you didn't-doesn't mean everyone wouldn't.

But Tony, how does anyone know if Pentox helped them or not, or that the course of their Peyroines wouldn't have just gotten better without it? That's the real question isn't it? There's no way they can know because Pentox, if it does anything, works too slowly and is no cure for it in any case.

Jan, that's the problem w any treatment.  Let's say it improved or it worsened, how do you know for sure if it wasn't due to the treatment or not?  Let's say it worsened, many will conclude it didn't help - but what if it would have worsened more without it.  So what are we to do?  Try what has helped others and go from there.  If you are looking for guarantees-there are none.  So, do you give up or try?  That's the decision to be made.  No need to discourage everyone if you've made the decision not to try a given treatment.  Life unfortunately is not black and white, there are no absolutes-especially w Peyronies Disease.

Tony, I get that. But that's like saying go eat a lot of garlic and see if it helps. Any change you'll automatically attribute to the garlic. That's just not scientific. It's just guessing.

No problem with people safely experimenting with a drug or vitamin, just be aware of the placebo effect (which runs around 30% normally) and go with the science. That's all.

Do you guys think it's worth purchasing Ubiquinol as opposed to CoQ10?

I've been taking Pentox and CoQ10 for a year - havent seen any major improvement, only minor changes i assume from VED.

According to Ubiquinol marketing (and some papers), as the body ages (say over 40) its ability to convert CoQ10 into Ubiquinol diminishes.

Since you're only 30, I would just stick to CoQ10.

Jj, I'd consider adding low dose nightly cialis and possibly traction.
