In about a month, I have my first follow up with urologist in 18 months, after being diagnosed two years ago. At my last visit, he determined that I was not a candidate for Xiaflex as I had developed a fairly significant indentation and hinge effect. After that appointment, I became very discouraged and had some personal issues, so I have not been back so see him since... again until this upcoming appointment a few weeks. My question is this... I have been dealing with thos crap for 2 years. It has destroyed my sex life, my romantic life, and has also led tremendous struggles in other areas of my life, as well. I just want some resolution. How strongly should or can I push my doctor at this point to finally do SOMETHING? I'm assuming at this point I'm facing some sort of surgery, would it be appropriate to actually almost insist on it from the urologist, or is that being a little too pushy? I just don't want to get back into this game of "oh come back in three months for a follow up" or six months or whatever. I've just had this thing pushed out further and further and further, and I've already been dealing with it too damn long as it is. No more follow ups, no more "wait-and-see"... Either tell me I can't be fixed, or fix me already!

Make sure that you are going to a specialist in Peyronie's Disease, typically a reconstructive urologist or andrologist.  Run of the mill uro's are pretty worthless in my experience and from alot of what I read on the forums.   If you are at two years, you are more than likely no longer in the active phase and surgery would be on the table if your situation warrants it.  I totally relate about the destruction of your romantic life and is good that you are taking active steps to get back on track.   Definitely, never take no as an answer as there are many specialists around that are fantastic.  You may have travel to one, but at least they exist.

I echo Busted.  Find a specialist.  My original uro even referred me to one because he knew I needed specific treatment.  Don't give up until you get what you need

The worst thing you can do is push the wrong surgeon to do surgery on you.  That could make you wish you were back where you are now.

Pick your surgeon and your type of surgery very carefully if you want a one-time surgery and a great result.
