Hello,

I'm 27, and have recently developed symptoms. I suspect that it has resulted from a small injury from the beginning of last year which I had consulted a doctor about multiple times, who didn't seem to find anything wrong at the time. Aside from occasional pains which eventually became less frequent, everything seemed fine after that.

Between 1 and 2 months ago I noticed the right side of the shaft feeling a bit numb when an erection is forming, and at the same time it would bend in that direction resulting from what looks and feels like less blood going to that side. Until recently though this did not prevent a sustainable erection but it has made erections more difficult and, as of a few days ago, increasingly uncomfortable. I am single but am now afraid to even masturbate.

Starting about two days ago I noticed a very faint area of what I presume is scar tissue on top of the shaft, faint enough that I'm the only one who would notice it. It's in the same place on the right that is causing the bend/numbness and prevents/kills erections without sufficient stimulation, which I assume should now be avoided. Unfortunately I won't be able to have insurance until a month from now which means it will be even longer before I can have it looked at again, so in the meantime I want to know what can be done to preserve what I can and keep it from getting worse. I've read about traction devices but am not sure where to find one, and I've also read about using the back of an electric toothbrush, which I'm skeptical about. In the meantime I have been massaging the area in a circular motion with my finger which may not even do anything, but I don't know what else I can do for it at the moment.

I describe some of my medical history below in case it useful to know, so you can skip that if you want.

I highly suspect that this is the result of a small injury in December 2018. I poked against my partner during sex and thankfully wasn't moving too rapidly at that moment, but it bumped hard enough and caused a sharp enough sting to cause occasional pain/stings in the following days, and eventually what seemed like a ruptured vein (not painful but visually alarming) under the surface of the shaft which prompted me to immediately see a doctor that January. The first doctor to see me referred me to a urologist, but he basically said he was just doing it to be safe and he personally didn't see anything that appeared to be reason for concern. The urologist had basically the same reaction, and over the next few months I consulted him a couple more times about the occasional stings I was still feeling, but he assured me nothing was wrong and it seemed that way from then on until now.

Hey Acadia - welcome to the Forum, and congrats on your first post.

Your experience is like a lot of ours.  I feel like one underlying theme for many of us is "Take what your doctor says with a grain of salt."  When they say they don't see or feel anything, it doesn't mean that nothing is there, just that they don't see or feel anything....  I'm on my 4th urologist and finally feel that I have someone who really gets Peyronie's and all of its implications, including the fear, frustration, depression, problems it causes in relationships, etc.  So I'd say keep looking, at least once you get insurance.

As for what you can be doing now - the massages are a great idea, especially where you feel the scar tissue may be.  And I have done the electric toothbrush thing on myself! It was one of the first suggestions I found when I was searching, too.  I sure felt strange doing it, but the little electric buzz felt kinda cool down there, lol.  I don't know that it did anything to help, but you know what - if you have an extra brush for yours, I'd do it.  It's definitely not going to hurt anything, may possibly help, but at the very minimum will let you feel that you're taking matters into your own hands (literally) and doing something about it.

Depending on where you live, you may be wise to go ahead and make an appointment now with a uro specialist for a few days after your insurance will kick in. Otherwise, if you wait to get the insurance to make an appointment, it may be another 3 - 4 weeks from then until their next opening.  Just a thought.

As of now the curve is only noticeable as the erection is forming, not when fully soft or hard, so I'm remaining hopeful that something can still be done for it.

you may be wise to go ahead and make an appointment now with a uro specialist for a few days after your insurance will kick in.

Very true, and I did consider this. My instinct has been to wait until I'm sure I have insurance just in case there ends up being an issue, but I'm so worried at this point I'd probably end up just charging it anyway in that case.

I've looked at some traction devices and I guess I could use recommendations... they're a bit pricey and seem to have widely varying results, but again I'm willing to spend on anything that will give me a chance of recovering. So if anyone has one they recommend I'd really appreciate to know. I'm going pick up supplements tomorrow.
Also, I'm wondering if any particular kind of exercise is good or bad for this. I have a desk job at home requiring me to sit for much of the day so I already have a routine in place. I'm particularly wondering if weight lifting is good or bad for me to do right now.

In the meantime if there's anything else you guys suggest I'd appreciate knowing.

You can get on the survival guide treatments right now to prevent any potential issues from worsening while you are still actively seeking a good uro to connect with. I would say not to worry about anything until you see noticeable changes WITH a full erection though. There's a lot of weird things our junk can do when we aren't fully erect that we can hyper focus on. But the sign of actual peyronies being set in would be a distinctive change to the shape and size of your penis when fully erect.

For me it started with a very noticeable dent on the top of my penis under the glans head. Which blew my mind because I had never known a penis could have a deofornity like that and it freaked me out. Along with that very painful erections that woke me up at njggt and hurt like hell during the day. After 8 months or so the scarring developed more and my erections shortened by like 2 whole inches. Because now the top whole half of my penis cannot get hard and remains in the same girth as it is flaccid while the bottom half is full still. This due to scar tissue preventing the tissue around it from expanding normally. But hey at least the dent is gone 😁
