Information gathered from the book DMSO: Natures Healer.

DISCLAIMER: This post is not in any way offered as prescription, diagnosis nor treatment for any disease, illness, infirmity or physical condition. This is for informational and educational purposes only about DMSO.  Any form of self-treatment or alternative health program necessarily must involve an individual's acceptance of some risk, and no one should assume otherwise.  Persons needing medical care should obtain it from a physician.  Consult your doctor before making any health decision.

When I finished this book I felt better about understanding DMSO and its properties. I will recite some of information I gathered from the book to help anyone get a better grasp on the matter! this is from his book and is for informational purposes only. If you decide to use DMSO, it is your risk and responsibility. No one else. Please read the book for information

DMSO is a component derived from wood, or the paper making process. It has been used for centuries. Dr Jacob Uses DMSO successfully on thousands of people with spinal inflammation, stroke, interstitial cystitis and many more conditions including Peyronies and other keloid related conditions. He mentions peyronies in the book for treatment no less than a year for results.

Sixteen of DMSO's advantages and wide ranges in use against organic disease:

1 - Blocks pain by interrupting C-fibers
2 - anti-inflammatory
3 - bact/fung/viralstatic
4 - transports pharmaceuticals across membranes
5 - reduces platelet thrombi in blood vessels
6 - inhibits calcium to reduce workload of the heart
7 - acts as a tranq when rubbed into the skin
8 - enhances anti-fungel and anti bacterial agents when combined.
9 - Vasodilator
10 - inhibits release of coleresterase (sp)
11 - softens collagen by a cross linking effect
12 - scavenges hydroxel free radicals
13 - stimulates various types of immunity
14 - diuretic
15 - brings out interferon
16 - stimulates healing in wounds

DMSO 90% pharmaceutical grade can be mixed with water to lower strength for application.

Topical DMSO can be used at 70% concentration when mixed with distilled water. Applied on and around injury painted with a cotton tipped applicator or narrow tipped paint brush and remain uncovered for 30 min.

60-90% DMSO when applied to the skin may result in the following reactions: redness, warmth, itching and sometimes hives may occur. Usually this disappears in 2-3 hours but the positive effects of DMSO still last. Skin may wrinkle and remain for 2-3 days. Use aloe Vera Cream if burned. Use after each DMSO treatment to prevent irritation. The higher the concentration, the more the skin will react. Stay away from industrial grade DMSO. It is very harsh.

There has to be water mixed in with pure DMSO or it will freeze at 65 deg F. 1 part water and 10 parts solvent will lower the freezing temp.

Those with Fair skin (red/blonde hair and blue eyes) will be more sensitive and should start at about 50% concentration or less for topical application.

DMSO has been used for Keloids up tp 80% a couple times a day to flatten the scars.

Toxicity:

The toxicity of DMSO is very low. Safer than Aspirin. seven times safer. The LD50 for asprin on Monkeys is 500mg/kg. For DMSO it is 4000mg/kg. The lower the number the more toxic.

DMSO was applied to skin of mice at 50,000mg/kg and they survived with complete dipping in 60% DMSO. Rats survived dipping in 80% DMSO and with repeated dipping in 60% 3x/weekly for 26 weeks and survived.

People have died from Aspirin but there are no deaths from DMSO. In clinical use, DMSO has been applied or injected into the skin for weeks and years with none or very few signs of a noxious response. Do not heat up or spray DMSO when applying to the skin. Do not strictly inhale DMSO

DMSOs affect on humans is reddening that is often not noticeable after repeated applications. 35% of people using complain of burning sensations at the area of contact. Smaller number of ppl complain of skin roughness, mild itching, blistering, dermatitis, thickening and scaling. However these are not toxic effects, only side effects due to possible dehydration and removal of fats from the skin.

DMSO shows no cancer forming activity, no impact on reproduction with skin applicants. DMSO does not increase allergies already present. Most DMSO disappears in urin or breath. It seeps from skin pours to have an odor and stops after a few days after stopping use.

DMSO heightens the therapeutic effects of added components

This is all from Dr. Morton Walker's book "DMSO: Natures Healer" again this is for informational purpose only
32 yo. Unknown cause. 1st plaque proximal left base near pelvis 9/19. Expanded and shrunk after 8 mo by 50% (still working on it). Minor bend but malleable. 2nd small plaque 5/20 superficial distal right just under tip. Currently growing. No bend.

obviously we shouldn't be getting it in our eyes though.
Age 57, Onset 2010, 2" shortening, shrinking and angulation of glans, weaker erections, 30 degree bend. Mild pain few months, but far from worst symptom. Tried many ideas, not just from here, but not consistently. Moderate improvement, maybe 40%

What a great post! Thanks so much Holistic!

DMSO is the topical version of MSM. They are the same, but orally MSM will penetrate every organ, including the brain.
If you like, simply take MSM, it supposedly removes scars. The claims are pretty outstanding.
I took 4 grabs a day for two weeks. It made my scarred area change and "loosen" like years back when I used I first used VED.
The only downside is that it may lower NO slightly, and it made my penis slightly floppy but this seemed to be due to changes in the scar. Anyway, seemed to be doing something! I stopped recently for other reasons but will begin again.

Ocular use is discussed in the book. I forget what it mentioned but yes there were cases of some side effects. But yes, this post is for application topically. Not in the eye.

Thank you Neo! So DMSO has the capability to reach every organ as well. There were scleroderma studies where one hand was dipped and it healed as well as the other hand which wasnt dipped. It indicates that dmso crosses the blood barrier quickly and circulates in the body. Which is why when you apply it for a joint injury on the joint, you can taste garlic in seconds.

Never heard of MSM. I'll look it up. But you can also take dmso orally as well. The book discusses it, but I didnt want to focus on it or discuss it and have someone misinterpret it and injure themselves. They can get the book if they're interested. Thanks for the info!

DMSO seems very promising. You can transport things inside the penis without the risk of the injections. We should have a protocol which includes some working DMSO + X..
