I've done 8 sessions of ESWT for Peyronie's and my penis did not change in shape (curve or indention or lenght or girth). I am disappointed. The pain with the erection is still there. The urologist told me to wait for weeks or months to see results....... i feel like this is just to keep me away, to shut me up  :'(

Did anyone see results after ending treatment?

Thanks for sharing!
30yrs, diagnosed in feb. 2018 after possible injury (not sure), 4 plaques, 4 dents, S-surve, 30° right/45° up curve, tingle in the legs, sometimes penile pain an depressed.

I've done 8 and nothing. Seemed like a waste of time and money for me.
62 years old
Onset approx 2012
Treatment-- Xiaflex,VED,Manual stretching, Traction
Started with 75 Degree bend and after all treatment
went to 15 degrees........My Doc was impressed

for the first time i looked up the "surgery" board on the forum and it seems like many have great results with surgery. I might consider doing that instead. i am just tired of trying trying trying... nothing is working.

has anyone every reported a change in shape of the penis with ESWT? i wonder where all the people are that are in those studies....

I did the same for Dupuytren in my left hand.
12 sessions, not working! Waste of money.
For Dupuytren is a operation available where the string will removed.
But in some cases it will come back, so a second operation will be needed.
66 yr, 30deg left curve.

@Alexander if you still have pain you may be extremely lucky, it means you might still be in an acute phase. (inflammatory). I wish I was still in that phase. the best thing you might need to do is apply any inflammatory agents by any means necessary. Serrapeptase systemically helped with pain for me but maybe not the most efficient.. Then possibly also antifibrotic agents. Easily available antiinflammatories are dexamthasone, hydrocortinsone, diclofenac. methods used for these are iontophoresis but DMSO should work, and diclofenac gel spray is known to act on synovial fluids in the knee joint for example. Ultrasound, massage, heat and hydration could easily influence absorption.
Age 57, Onset 2010, 2" shortening, shrinking and angulation of glans, weaker erections, 30 degree bend. Mild pain few months, but far from worst symptom. Tried many ideas, not just from here, but not consistently. Moderate improvement, maybe 40%

Try to combine several treatments at once. Rarely is it heard that some applications of 1 thing did help.
Maybe aides traction in combo?

ESWT alone... I mean.. what's the theory that it alone works 5-15 treatments? improbable.. Also the plaques probably need to be completely calcified, hard to break soft tissue with ESWT.

I have tried Xiapex, Pentox, Cialis, Iontophoresis, ESWT, VED with SomaCorrect, traction with RestoreX and Phallosan Forte and of course Vitamins, acupuncture and chinese herbs... and of course waiting...... only xiapex did something... but made it worse  :'(

That's very unfortunate. Xiapex has the problem that the injection itself can cause more problems and inflammation.
I think more needs to be done to immediately mitigate any side effects from it. But it's mostly discontinued in the EU as I understand anyway..

My point was that doing different things from different "angles" at the same time (day/week) seems to help.(at least for me it did).
I often see people jumping from single treatment to treatment not having success.

Traction for example needs to be done for a lot of time daily and continuously for months.. During such a spell something like ESWT might help along with it to influence and "crack" the plaque which then can be stretched further, and then ending the day with some pumping and having cialis overnight to get good bloodflow and expansion into the tissue.
All while ensuring with medication, food etc. to stop new inflammation.

Which ESWT device was used? (I hope not gainswave) Also, the proper protocol is to do ESWT while penis is erect with injection because of acoustic impedance.  I have some good information on ESWT if you would like me to share with you.    Watch this video over 1/2 way in this video the doctor is stating that the new protocol is to do shockwave with erect penis  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLI6CY_NxAo&feature=emb_logo

main symptoms are hollow feeling shaft
scar tissue on corporas shown on ultrasound
Loss of girth, weak flaccid skin sensitive

Thanks for the video, AlterEgo.  I started to watch, but 51 minutes is a big commitment, lol.  Can you break down "1/2 way i the video" a little more specific? Like starting at 25:30, for example?  And I'd love the info you have to share if you want to PM me.

Thanks!
Peyronie's since 2017
Have tried: X4Labs Extender; Phallosan; Jelqing; Manual Massage & Stretches; VED Pump; DMSO + Iodine, Vit E; Ultrasound.
Curve gone from 90 degrees to 20.
Still have hour glassing, which I HATE
Open to new suggestions & ideas.

Preliminary Findings From a New Animal Model for Peyronie's Disease Involving Extracorporeal Shock Waves
Objective: To develop an experimental model in rabbits to analyse the efficiency of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) for Peyronie's disease.

...Results: The results showed clearly that the model was efficient, creating a similar situation to that when applying ESWT in the human penis. ...
All of the rabbits in groups 2 and 3 had haematomas and diffuse petechiae after ESWT, and only four had urethral and penile bleeding... in group 3 there was an increase in interstitial fibrous tissue in the cavernous septum, with deposition of collagen fibres and thickening of the tunica albuginea.

Conclusion: The present model was efficient in producing tissue injury in the normal penis when treated with ESWT, suggesting that this promising model should be considered for use future studies of Peyronie's disease.

sounds reassuring!

Np 51 minutes when we are talking about our most valuable body part is too long? Start around the 20 minute mark

Different devices were used by the same doctor? This seems a very odd protocol.  Do you have the name of the devices?  Flaccid shockwave is useless must get erection injection then do the shockwave

Hi,
sorry to hear your experience, maybe they have a wrong machine and/or wrong setting, mine was spectacular, after 1-2 sessions curvature 50% gone, pain 80% sort of. You know you can buy your own for 500 at aliexpress? I did and I'm v.happy for it. I use it not only for my little guy, implications are limitless. Just read what SWT could do to other parts of your body. It is not any cure but helps to work out other problems as well.
cheers

It seems to have potential but it's hit and miss. No one knows how it works or what the safe machines/ protocols are. Stakes are high if the study was not unsound where curvature increased.

What machine/settings were used on you?  What brand and power size did you buy from aliexpress? Is it true shockwave or only acoustic wave like gainswave

I´ve done 10 sessions of ESWT, once a week, driving every week 350 km for the treatment.  No change at all.
Somebody says that it may help with pain. I don´t know because I don´t have pain. I´ve also heard arguments that it will improve erection. No change for me. The curvature and plaque size remained unchanged.
2 failed TURP surgery destroyed ejaculation, orgasm and sensation.
They caused severe Peyronies and nerve damage.
Erection is still left.
Peyronies since 2019, age 62.

thx1138

Alec,

Did you notice any loss of sensation ?

Thanks
Peyronies Disease with 35 degree curve. ED; Viagra 100 becoming unreliable. Uncomfortable with needles.
Chronic Prostatitis going back decades. Hydrocele. Varicocele. Considering implant.

I agree - for me as a non-native speaker the presentation is hard to follow, also due to the background noise. Basically, the point about the impedance may make sense. However, having an injection in every session for me seems quite risky, as it is known (see leaflet) that these PGE1 injections can produce additional scarring (whether resulting from the needle or the substance not being stated).
