Struggling1982

Any uncircumcised dudes out there managed to find a way of using Restorex without causing pain to the glans, or it slipping out as soon as any significant amount of tension is applied? I've read so many conflicting theories and instructions that I'm a little stuck. I've set up the device correctly, am just finding it very difficult to tolerate the discomfort to the glans when using.

The Restorex CS team told me "The back side of the clamp has a slight ridge.  That ridge should go just behind the ridge on the glans of you penis.  In this way you will have the exact amount of tissue in the clamp required to secure it in place." - obviously with foreskin in play, it's a little tricky to calculate this and get everything locked in place.  Not to mention this directly conflicts with the manual saying "DO NOT clamp the shaft of the penis or any area behind the glans of the penis" :-/ I'm wrapping with a couple of layers of 2 inch gauze to try and minimize pain, but it's still pretty bad and there's now a small amount of constant residual discomfort.

I've had about 12 rounds of Xiaflex injections(!) and my Doctor told me there's not really much more he can do now as he's neutralized all plaques which were present; traction is the only way to get my curve fixed now and while I do believe this device could be what's needed I'm concerned that without clear instructions for how to use it I may cause more damage :-(

I have pretty much the same problem as you. For now, i stopped trying. I tried reaching out to a member here that uses it in the hopes that he would be able to help me out through a videocall but it didn't materialized. I noticed that their costumer support either evades questions, or responds differently to each person per the same question. They don't seem to compile their answers in the form of a wiki... apparently...

I already thought about doing a thread for "restorex only" but ended up not creating one. I think more and more, we need one. As for your current residual discomfort, try to take a break. If there is constant pain, that's no good.

Thanks for your reply, sorry you're in the same boat. Will definitely take a rest for a few days and see if the pain goes away. Totally frustrating after spending $500 and following all their advice, will be beyond furious if I've caused further damage.

I've asked the manufacturers if they have any actual photo or video they can share - their demo videos of the spongy white penis substitute really don't make it clear how exactly the clamping is meant to happen - I would've thought marketing their product to a target audience of people with penis injuries, they might have considered being super clear on this front!

I spoke to my doctor this morning (Dr Lue) and he said it shouldn't make any medical difference whether one clamps on the glans or the shaft just below - I'm inclined to believe him. His reasoning for the discomfort is that I only had my most recent Xiaflex shots last week, and the dissolving of scar tissue aggravates the nerves in the penis quite a lot - so any kind of stress will likely manifest as discomfort in the glans, particularly in uncircumcised men.

He advised to try stretching again with the Recoverex device in a week or two once all discomfort has died down. Stay tuned...

Did you have any curve reduction w 12 rounds?  Also, did you do traction between the rounds?

Peter123. Thank you! That video was super clear, have much better idea what to do next time.

TonySa - yes, I was at about 90 degrees, now less than 45. Was stretching with silicone devices which strapped to my leg for the last few years, the progress has been glacially slow so can't really remember what it was like at the beginning. Easiest way I can put it was sex with my wife was impossible before treatment, now it's just not ideal :-)

Doc definitely thinks Restorex will yield better results due to the higher amount of tension, and counter-bending. We'll see.

Great progress, makes sense it will go quicker w restorex!  Nice to hear Dr Lue is now recommending it as well.

Yeah i am uncircumcised as well, but I'm figuring out how to use RestoreX without stretching the skin.

First i pull back all the skin and apply a few layers of gauze just to the tip/glands of the penis.
Then i pull back again and apply a few layers of gauze to the skin/shaft section right below the glands. This overlaps a bit with the first set of gauge.
I then attach the clamp, which will clamp beyond the glands and a tiny bit of the shaft, this is why i apply the second set of gauge.
I then extend the device along the rods, without applying the spring tension.
I then free up any loose skin in the base of my penis to make sure the skin has no tension.
Then i active the springs and make sure the white lines are buried.
I then double check that the tension is not on the skin by making sure it's not tense and i can move it up and down.

I'm still experimenting on how to best apply curved traction, so don't have a process for that yet.

Now, that video Peter posted is very interesting. Hadn't seen it yet. The Dr there recommends applying traction as soon as possible (within first 3 months), even with pain. That's a bit counter intuitive. I had disastrous results trying to apply (manual) traction a month into the disease. Now a full two months things are a bit better.

I also find it extremely interesting how the Dr mentioned that people with diabetes are hard to treat, even with traction. I think this makes sense because their bodies will keep the inflammation around. This is why i believe low calorie/anti-inflammatory diet is extremely important.

@LuisFernandez

Thank you for explaining the way you do it. I see how important it is to move the foreskin away from the clamp, but I find it still very difficult and clamping the glans hurts. Afterwards the glans is very cold, no good blood flow at all. Do i do this right? because if i do not clamp the glans as muuuuch as possible it would slip away... so frustrating

@alexander88: are you clamping the glans itself or right behind her, on that ridge? are you doing the set time only or more traction at your own will? I wounder if you could have breaks in between the sessions? what does costumer service have to say?

Struggling1982

@LuisFernandez - thanks for your detailed advice. I tried using your method today and, while the pinching on the glans was still not great, it was much more manageable. It seems making sure no skin at all gets caught is absolutely key (gently pulling it all loose), and wrapping all areas of the shaft and glans that might have any contact with the device in a couple of layers of no-hurt gauze is definitely a winner. I also found that, as per the video, removing the clamp and fixing the penis in place separately, before attaching the clamp back to the main frame of the device made everything much easier.

I managed to get some curved traction going - I laid a piece of tissue paper underneath the shaft and head, inside the clamp and other than  a little discomfort it was quite manageable. I even managed to get to the fourth "click" on the downwards curve preset for a few seconds, although think I need to work up to that one.

Good luck everyone, thanks for your help!

Great Struggling,

One word of caution, this method works too well. Make sure you do not apply too much tension on your penis. I don't recommend burying the white lines too much. I'd say bury it just a little bit or where it shows up just a tiny bit.

Also make sure you do not apply too much constriction on your head with the gauze and unwrap it and let it breath constantly. Specially if you have problems getting the device on.

Good luck.
