Good news!  Congratulations.  When you see him consider asking why the 20 CM with 2" of RTE's rather than just a 22 CM Titan.

Will do.  I asked pre op if he used RTE's and he said occasionally but that they are small.  I will ask why I needed them

Anyone experience any bleeding post op?  I have a drain, but the gauze and jock strap I'm wearing are somewhat soaked.  Talked to the nurse who didn't seem too concerned and said I'm seeing dr Yafi tomorrow anyways, so unless it gets worse I shouldn't worry too much.

I did not have a drain so I cannot comment on the bleeding.  Was your incision in the scrotum or above the penis?

In the scrotum.  I think it's just the after effects of surgery.  It seems to have slowed down.  Just curious if anyone else had the same experience

When you feel up to it would you like to tell us a little about what prompted you to pick Dr. Faysal Yafi,?   I know you had a bit of a fight to get insurance to cover his services.

I originally wanted to go to Gelman, but he doesn't accept insurance.  My old uro suggested Yafi as he is young and "new school" so to speak, and works at the same hospital.  He does a lot of research on newer techniques, as you can kind of see on YouTube.  When I first met him we instantly clicked, and it was the first dr that was a specialist AND listened to me.  Very methodical and laid it all out to me as far as options.  Plus being in my network was a HUGE plus, as I don't have the monetary means to tackle something like this out of pocket.  He answers any emails usually within 30 min unless it's a surgery day, and seems genuinely concerned about me.  He was one of the consultants my old uro talked to when I fractured from Xiaflex, as well as Lue and Kramer, Karpman and Christine.  I felt to be in that group meant a lot

I also vaguely remember (sorry long day) this morning that he said he uses some type of "hook" to get maximum length with the implant.  To be 22cm, even with RTE's, makes me hopeful he got all he could for me.  He called my wife after surgery and said she would be pleasantly surprised with the results, and that I will be straight as an arrow.

I have, and he stated he does about 3-4 a week.  He uses both models, but for me, being a Peyronie's patient, he said Coloplast is the best model for anyone experiencing it.  He told me just yesterday that he would have "every size under the sun" in the OR to make sure I got as much length as possible.  I have his email if anyone would like to see it.  But yes, I will ask him again tomorrow as well as why he decided to use RTE's on my case.

likely correct Tony and at that point he has a choice of pulling the 20 and swapping it for a 22 or adding another RTE.  I think at that point most surgeons would do what he did.

I agree, I think Dr Eid is the only one who would eat the cost and swap it out.  One of the reason he would be my first choice w all I've read and heard. If a doc did 3 or more RTEs I'd think they are just not paying attention to measurements.  Hope I'm not hijacking the thread.  We can take it elsewhere if it generates further discussion.

I'm ok with it Tony.  Would I have gone with Eid if I could've?  Yes, but I am happy with Yafi.  I just don't have the financial means to cross the country.  I believe I will come out of this completely satisfied.  Hence the discussion.  Not everyone can go to Eid, and I hopefully provide another implanter to the list.  I will document with pics when things calm down

So I just got out of Dr Yafi's office.  Took all the bandages off and removed my drain.  Semi inflated and it looks good!  Got an explanation about RTE's.  I am actually 21 cm, not 22, which is why he had to use an RTE.  he said if he could've put a 22 in he wouldn't have used them.  Asked about how many implants he does and he actually did 4 yesterday, so I believe 3-4 a week may be a little low.  His last implant yesterday was a gentleman that was on his 5th (!) implant after doing 4 in Mexico.  Asked about the "hook" he used and if there was a name for it.  He said "a hook"😂.  Said it's like a fish hook, which is why he said I may have a burning sensation while urinating, but that it's normal.

TDix,

Good for you, you made a right choice and glad things are going well. I know you did your research before and it seems you were getting a lot of questions thrown at you, when you were not even 24 hours out of surgery. AND, you did the best in answering the questions too. GOOD FOR YOU.

Your doctor pick was perfect for you. It's your penis and if you are happy with the doctor and the outcome, that's the most important thing!

I am very happy for you and once you get to the point of using it, I am sure all will be good. I think it's important to read everyone's journal as everyone is different. We all heal differently and we all have different penises, balls, etc.

Listen to what your doctor says and listen to what your body says too. I didn't do the deed until 31 days from surgery. Sex just keeps getting better.
I wish you all the luck and what luck doesn't cover, I offer you prayers.

Great to hear you feel better today.  I don't think that was the case for me after a 4 hour ride home from surgery.  You are fortunate to have Dr. Yafi near enough to you that travel is not an issue.  You are currently the only one making a new journal so many members and many more guests will be following your progress.  It will stand as a piece of educational material for years to come.

For clarification, do your have a 20 cm Titan with one RTE on each cylinder?

Dr. Eid has a very different opinion about RTE's and has a lengthy discussion on them.  He does sometime use one.  Keep on mind that it is pretty difficult to make an argument for (2) 1 CM RTE's when the cylinders come in 2 CM increments with a Titan.  If you need 2 RTE's then you need the next size cylinder.

Yup, I originally thought I had two 1 cm RTE's on each side, but I read the paperwork wrong.  Dr Yafi told me today I have a 20cm cylinder on both sides with a 1cm RTE.  if he could've fit one more cm in me he would have simply put in 22cm cylinders.

TDix, your penis looks good. It looks a lot like mine when it was first done.

Something that happened to me, my penis became more bruised after a few days. My surgeon said it was normal, so if it happens, don't freak out.

Without inflating, don't you think it's thicker now, I noticed that right away. I actually ended up with a much bigger girth then I started with.

Your progress looks great, stay safe.

I thought my cylinders were inflated because I almost had an erection.  It was fluid swelling and blood clots in the chambers around the cylinders.  I think it is tough to determine size at this point.

Roddy, thank you for the kind words.  I have always been a sort of pessimistic guy, but this latest surgery has changed my outlook on life.  I feel hopeful for the first time in 3 years since this all started.  I was optimistic before my grafting surgery too.  I still say that surgery was successful even though I needed an implant.  It straightened me out and got rid of a lot of calcifies scarring.  I was always a pretty heavy beer drinker too, but that has all changed with this too.  I want to get the best results possible.  Just shows to never give up.  As low as you may be, keep fighting to get yourself right.  I feel I'm on my way there

I know it's only been 3 days, but can I just say I feel so much better having this implant in me!  It's almost like a burden has been lifted off my shoulders.  My wife looks at me different, I'm not moping around the house anymore.  There's this little tinge of excitement that in about a month or more I won't need pills or injections or cock rings to be with her.  It's hard to explain.  Yes I gave up ever having a natural erection again, but they weren't adequate anyways.

Buddy, just wait!   I messed with Erectile Dysfunction FOR FIFTEEN YEARS LIKE A FOOL!!!  I am totally monogamous.  But I remember sitting in a restaurant a couple months post op and the thought hit me and I leaned over and told my wife, " I could screw every woman in here without stopping if they wanted me to."  We both just laughed but it was true and a great feeling even though it was a statement of ability not one of intent of desire.

The fact that the two of you can get in the mood and there is no getting out a damned tool kit or waiting for meds to to get into your system, provided you did not just fill up on a steak.  Before long when you hear people say an implant is a last resort you will just shake your head because even if you could get a rock hard erection with injections, Viagra, or a VED, you would NEVER go back.

As I say, an implant is not just great during sex.  That is only half of it.  It is great every waking second.  It changes your brain.

TDix,

I want to start out by saying this is me, and not everyone has the same experience(s), but
I was able to have erections prior to surgery, but my venous leak prevented my penis from staying solid. I still have semi-erections with my implant. I mean I still get semi-hard, when excited and my penis head still swells when I am excited.
Are you still having morning semi hards? Were you able to have erections, but they wouldn't last?
You are going to be so amazed once you can pump it up. Once you get the penis adjusted to be pumped it won't hurt. It took me about a month of pumping before I could have sex without some pain.....and from then on, it just gets better and better and better.
When I first started pumping, I couldn't bare it for more than 20 minutes, but now, I could leave it pumped all day if I wanted to, no PAIN!
