I’m 24, have Medicaid, and need an implant. How do I get it covered?

Medicaid doesn't want to help with ED, however they'll do sex changes (crazy to me). How can I get it covered, what employers would cover this surgery? I'm about 9 months to a year out from surgery so I have time. Or is there anyway to deem it medically necessary for Medicaid?

I'd start calling docs who do implants and ask if they accept Medicaid.

Also, you can get affordable health care insurance once you make over a certain amount each month.  It can be any job that doesn't have health insurance.  Check the affordable health care website for how much income moves you out of Medicaid into purchasing (with subsidies) a plan through them.  If you make just over the minimum income, with subsidies it could be free.

So after finally asking the right questions I suppose, I believe that an implant might actually be covered for me by Medicaid (thank god). I'm still awaiting confirmation from a referral from my urologist, however I must stay in the state of Virginia. Are there any good implant surgeons in VA? How should I go about looking for one?

Also, thank you to everyone on this forum, this has been a roller coaster ride and you all have been so helpful. I feel like I'm finally making progress towards a solution.

If you can't find any recommended, if google implant surgeons and start calling to see if they accept Medicaid.  If they do ask how many implants they go a year, what manufacturers do they use (coloplast and AMS), etc.
