Today, I've officially started my Keto Diet! I'm super stoked about this, because of all the good words I've been hearing about it's effect on Peyronie's Disease, and also general health.
I will be jumping between Keto and Low-Carb Diet, since I feel that that's the right way to go, for me, personally.
My diet will consist mainly of: avocado, sourdough bread, eggs, chicken, cheese, salad & goat cheese.
I will definitely throw in a bowl of pasta every now and then; I've checked the carbs per meal in both pasta and bread, so I think I have things figured out. I know how much "cheat-food" I can consume without overstepping and doing my body wrong, if that's makes sense.
I'm combining this diet with both traction-by-hand and nightly tadalafil (Cialis).
If you have any tips or anything you'd like to add, please, don't hesitate to chime in.

Using antioxidants, Pentox and hirudoid cream, as well as manual traction, heat and Cialis.

I'd recommend ditching the bread.  Also, get yourself some Keto strips to piss on.  They are effective when you are first starting out to tell you whether or not you are in ketosis.

My go-to Keto foods: ribeye steak, avocado, eggs, coconut oil, ground beef, chicken wings, Kerry gold butter, lamb, Cheese, walnuts, macadamia nuts, pork rinds, and peanut butter (in moderation).

JJ, will do brother!
Shafted, I appreciate the tips on food man, great stuff.
Could you explain the state of "ketosis", for me?
I've just cut out all sugar and most carbs, so I'm not really an expert at it yet.

Ketosis, you basically run on fat as a fuel. That's what I remember from when I did it.
When the body has carbs and fat available it will use the fast burning carbs first. If it has only fat as energy it will use that.

Fat is a much more economical fuel. I remember how I had insane endurance and never that tired feeling like with carbs after eating. No up and downs.

That's also why high carb meals along with low grade fat is so unhealthy(think a coke with fatty burger and fries) . The carbs will be stored and the fat will float in the blood- (and clot the arteries which then calcify which is in a sense related to calcification in peyronies..)

That's a great way to put it Melting, but do you have any tips on how to stay low carb? Any meals that you recommend? Or tactics? to stay away from sugar and such things, it's hard from time to time. I guess that's why it's a drug, cuz it's very easy to relapse into sugar consumption.
JJ, it's proven that the body heals much better with Keto and lower carb diets.

Melting - how were your results?

Did it before peyronies. Was great but ultimately inconvenient and quiet pricey.

Just have to do it. Discipline. And if you break Keto you get there again rather fast if you were in it for weeks already.
After some time the desire for sweets goes down. Big part of it is the insulin downs with a high sugar diet creating cravings.
High quality fats are key. Fatty meats, avocados, nuts, add low sugar healthy greens to it. I got a big George Foreman type grill to ensure I can get meat fast lol

Nice bro. I won't touch sweets no more, until further notice, that is lool...
How do I know I'm in ketosis tho? I know you can buy tests and so on, but how do I know just by knowing? If that makes sense

Yeah there are urine strips.. pharmacy.. others might notice a very distinct smell for the first days(it tends to go away), kinda like alcohol / fuel lol
But generally you will notice it. It's a different feeling, energy wise. If you eat no carbs there's also basically no way to not be in ketosis after some time..

You can get ketosis stix from the pharmacy. They're called keto diastix where I am.

I've done this diet for bodybuilding before peyronies, it takes dedication but it is great. Very good for inflammation and I believe it is great for vascular disease as well.

You should really track your macros through myfitnesspal, you will need around 65 - 70% fats per day to remain in ketosis. Having too much carbs or sugar will kick you straight out... The first month is the most difficult, after that it gets easier.

I also found the Atkins bars are great when you have sugar cravings. Try and get the Atkins milk chocolate or the Atkins caramel, taste like proper chocolate except it's made from cream and cocoa so mostly fats and not much carbs at all!

Getting into Ketosis in the beginning can be difficult I also remember we would make 'fat bombs' of Fatty lamb mince made with melted cheese. (make sure the cheese is low in sugar).

There's also some great recipes online and facebook pages with alternatives. For example you can make Keto pizza with a cauliflower base or cheesecake made from cream cheese and sugar free chocolate sauce etc

Also - you can buy low carb bread (doesn't taste too great) and low carb cake where I am. Just make sure they're keto friendly and are actually low in carb as some diets consider 50g carbs per serving as low carbs whereas 50g carbs may kick you out of keto depending on how your diet has been. You have to try remain under 5% carbs per day.

Stay away from all sugar. Find keto-friendly recipes for your fav foods.

I hope this all makes sense, sorry if its confusing just trying to get all the advice across and im excited that some of us here are making progress and finally battling this disease together!

Great advice bro... I will look into these things.
Another thing, I've been doing traction by hand, and sometimes (last time happened tonight) I got a throbbing pain while doing it!? Wtf!? I'm not even rough? Should I maybe heat up my penis with a rice sock? F*ck this BS man lol as soon as I start making progress something happens

Atkins is an easy way to introduce yourself to keto/low carb.  Look on google and you tube as well.  It's not THE solution but can help when you add other treatment strategies.

Godisreal,

There are already some really good comments on this thread, but I'd like to add that cutting out carbs is not keto.. well not entirely!

Ketosis is when the body burns fat instead of glucose as its primary fuel source.  When fat is burned, ketones are released into the bloodstream and shuttled around the body consumed as fuel.  In order to get into ketosis you need to make sure you eat enough fat.  A common mistake people make is they replace carbs with protein and wonder why they are not in ketosis.  Low carb and keto are not the same thing!  If you replace carbs with protein and not enough fat you will not get into ketosis.  Remember, ketosis is when the body burns fat as its primary fuel source so you need to make sure you consume enough of it.  Protein is converted to glucose through a process called gluconeogensis and too much of it will kick you out of ketosis or prevent you from entering it in the first place.

Early on I pissed on keto sticks to measure my ketones but I don't need to do that anymore.  I know I'm in ketosis because I don't have brain fog and I have indistinguishably more and consistent energy.  I've also experienced keto breath but that seems to have subsided.  When you first start and get into ketosis you may get keto flu which is your body's response to the change and could last up to 2 weeks.  One thing I personally experienced was liquid stools which can happen when you intake significantly more fat than what your body is used to.  My stools returned to normal once my body became acclimated to fat.  My point is, when you first start out... don't trust a fart.

Shafted - thats some great advice. HAve you seen much progress? Also thanks for making us laugh at the end of your comment :)

GodISReal - definitely recommended to apply heat before traction or VED. I'm really not sure what the throbbing pain could be from but pain is usually never a good sign. What manual traction routine are you following? Have you seen NeoV's videos?

Yes heat allows the tissue to stretch more easily. Also ease into every stretch. No abrupt stretches

I've had some improvement but am not sure if it's from keto, supplements, traction, xiaflex, vasoconstriction, or the occasional VED. Likely, all of these have helped.  I do like the way I feel on keto and plan to stick with it the rest of my life, or as much as possible anyway.
