Hi Friends,

About a month ago i injured my penis stretching it, which then became aggravated by having anal sex with my wife. To make things worse i was on finasteride for two years and i stopped also a month ago. I believe that when i stopped it my penis regrew some size i had lost further aggravating things.

I had no idea what I had until about a week ago. I couldn't get erections and my penis bent to the left when erect. I also had constant pain.

My urologist has prescribed me:

* Pentoxifylline
* Meloxicam for inflammation
* Cialis
* L-Citruline

However, things for the past week seem to be regressing. I get pain by having gentle sex and even when gently pulling on my flaccid penis. I'm now constantly in a hard flaccid state and constantly inflammed. My urologist has adviced me to just leave my penis alone and let it heal and not do anything to it. My follow-up is in 4 months.

I've gotten a pump but am afraid to use it. I'm afraid to even try to get a full erection, even though I still can because i fear i will continue to aggravate it.

I have two lesions it seems, one on the middle right and one on the base top-right of the penis. The base one is the most problematic and painful.

I am looking for any advice on my treatment. Should i gently stretch my penis? Should I use the pump? Should i buy a traction device? Should I try to get full erections, even if it hurts?

Should I eat berries?

I would really appreciate guidance from people that have the same problem.

Thanks!

This is the vacuum device that i bought: https://www.mainspringmedical.com/products/vacurect-otc-custom-model-1002

But i bought before when i thought i just had ED. It seems this device is not very suitable for therapy. Does anyone have any advice on this? Perhaps i can just get a cheaper one with a gauge because i'm scared of over-pumping.

Please let me know any thoughts.

Thanks.

This pump should work, just don't pump to 100% erect.  I'd add other therapies such as pentox and low dose nightly pde5i.  Have you read the survival guide?  https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,3180.msg44057.html#msg44057

Tony,

Thanks for your reply. I believe i'm still early in my issue. I'm not even 100% i have Peyronie's going by this part of the survivial guide:

"If you have scar tissue at the site of real damage on the penis that is NOT Peyronies Disease."

I do see two bumps under my penis where i believe i got the injuries. Things are further complicated by me using finasteride for two years which probably caused fibrosis and made me more prone to injuries.

I am currently taking Pentox 3x a day, Cialis 1x a day, and 7 days left of Meloxicam for inflammation. Today i tried light manual traction and seemed to cause some aggravation. I'm now not going to touch my penis at all for at least the duration of my remaining Meloxicam.

I've read that it's not recommended to do traction while you have pain and inflammation and a hard flaccid. That's where i am right now.

Just adding more notes. Mainly for my sanity.

A few weeks ago after my injury was recovering i got an erection. It wouldn't go away even after an hour. I didn't know about priapism and was just happy i got an erection.

The next morning i felt pain at the base top of my penis for a few days. Even though the erection was gone it felt as if the base of the penis was hard. I think blood was just not leaving the penis.

I was able to get another erection the following days so i didn't think much of it and eventually the pain went away.
Today i got an erection but my girth was super weak and i couldn't get it all the way hard.

My case is very complex and at this point im just happy my dick still gets hard. Hopefully with some VED and traction therapy i can regain some of the losses but im not counting on it.

Plan to still take it easy for the next few days. There's so much i wish i knew such as the evils of finasteride, penis injuries, and going to the ER when my erection wouldn't go away.

I know there's nothing anyone can do, so i'm just trying to look at things on the bright side. I will eventually come to accept this condition and hopefully it doesn't get much worse.

So yesterday was very tough for me. I had done some very light masturbation and a little pre-cum came out. It looked like hot glue, the one you use for school projects.

Additionally, it seems my urologist did not realize i had shrunken testicles and low testosterone - due to my finasteride use - and prescribed me Meloxicam. Meloxicam shrinks the testicles and reduces testosterone - permanently.

This is F^@$!ng disheartening. I'm probably infertile now and will probably have even lower testosterone than my last test. I even mentioned the medication to my endo and he said nothing about it.

I've taken about 10 doses of Meloxicam but will stop immediately. Hopefully someone will read my diary and not repeat the same mistakes i have made.

Where did you hear meloxicam reduces testosterone permanently?  I think you're mistaken, it's just a NSAID-anti-inflammatory.  If you have low T, you can supplement w TRT.  That may be the reason of your weak erections.  What degree of new curve do you have?  It may not seem like it, but from everything you say you may have Peyronie's-but if so you've caught it early and should be able to treat it effectively.  If you don't want to take Meloxicam, maybe try ibuprofen or topical voltaren gel on penis for pain.

Tony,

Thanks for your response. This is where I read about the effects of Meloxicam on testicular size and testosterone production: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/316854630_EFFECT_OF_MELOXICAM_AND_TOLFENAMIC_ACID_ON_SOME_REPRODUCTIVE_ASPECTS_OF_MALE_RATS

Particulary: "Results showed that drugs have an adverse effects of male fertility as they decreased the level of testosterone, weight of testes and epididymes and decreased the number of sperm count, motility and increasing the number of abnormal sperm. "

My T levels are within range (517 ng/dL total and 76.8 pg/mL free) so my endo doesn't want to do TRT. Frankly at this point neither do I, perhaps i can increase it naturally. At least that was the hope before Meloxicam.

My urologist said i was in the acute phase of Peyronie's. But honestly, I think i just have some injuries in my penis which is why getting erections have been aggravating it. Thought it seems to slowly be getting better. He said he wanted to flood it with blood and reduce inflammation so that it heals. And to 'take it easy' but recommend VED and traction.

My erections are ok at the moment, but I did have some time with severe Erectile Dysfunction but that seems to have mostly gone away for now. Now I just have two sites of aggravation where you can see the skin 'raised' and is painful to the touch.

Tony,

Forgot to answer some of your questions. I do not currently have a curvature in the middle of my penis. My penis does 'slant' from the base about 10-15 degrees to the left. Urine also goes to the left at the end when i pee.

Thanks for the advice on Meloxicam alternatives. Waiting to hear back from my endo and urologist regarding my question about it. Inflammation does seem to have gone down - had a 'hard flaccid' for a few days. Which i guess was *kinda* cool because it made my junk look bigger, but it's back to normal now.

Thanks for the advice, will continue to post updates.

Ok so things have been improving somewhat. I'm able to consistently get erections, but have to try pretty hard to get 'fully' hard and even then it doesn't get as hard as it can.

I see now a dent on top of my penis, it seems that the bottom of my penis has good bloodflow but the top doesn't. It's still not as bad as it can be so i'm being positive, though i've certainly lost some length due to the top not expanding.

I still have some minor pain and took one more pill of Meloxicam since it shouldn't affect my T that much and i'd rather deal with the inflammation right now, specially since i don't really have a problem with erections.

Gonna wait a week or so for the pain to be gone before starting VED or even manual traction. I really don't want to make things worse at this point.

Also, I think i got really lucky with my doctor. This is him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CJBDBIAy90

I literally just looked up a urologist who was taking in-person visits during covid. I'm a fan of the UCLA medical group so far.

Hey luis. Turning 33 next week and have an appointment to try and discuss this with my doctor. Live in VA. Tryin to find other guys our age to support each other. Didnt know if you'd be comfortable trying to help get a group for folks our age and younger started. Hard to read about tons of posts of people in their 50s and 60s with this. I feel like its so much harder younger

Virgina1987,

Sure i'm glad to help however i can, it is extremely difficult to go through this as such a young age. In my case though, it was finasteride that crashed my hormone levels to that of a 50-60 year old.

This disease has a lot to do with hormones, specially DHT and Testosterone.

I live in California. Honestly, i'm not comfortable in becoming a 'public face' of this disease :p

But always happy to chat with other guys my age about this.

DHT is responsible to penile growth and health and repair. DHT inhibitors are prescribed for enlarged prostate. DHT inhibitors reduce penis size. These are all simple facts.
