Hello fellow fighters!

I've been in the peyronies run for some years. Tried l-arginin...Cialis (low dose) lcarnitin...coq10. I have a significant curve and it feels like it's changing shape. Hourglassing when semierect and some Erectile Dysfunction. I have a good relationship and my girlfriend is understanding. We can have sex but I usually can't come. It's touch on me. I have a VED (Androvacuum) and traction device (Andropeyronie). I have been using the VED on and off but no real results there. Should I try traction before opting for surgery or give the VED some time? Have you had success with either?

Sincerely

Andreas

Mr man

Hello Andreas,
I have held back having the nesbitt procedure in favour of vacuum therapy. My symptoms started 18 months ago. I started vacuum therapy about 2 months ago. Initial results are promising. Here is my experience.
After the first session. I noticed a very relieving stretch to the bend area. The course tissue inside broke up and was moving under the skin. This could be felt. Eventually, it fizzled away.
About 3 weeks in of using the device consistently everyday. 1 session daily. My penis does appear thicker. The bend appears reduced only slightly. I am using an angle indicator of the type used by schoolchildren and phone pictures to measure the curvature. The curvature has reduced by approximately 1-3 degrees. I hàve a 30 degree bend. It was about 33 degrees.
2 months into treatment the horrible hourglass shape has left my penis. It is much more recognizable to the shape it use to be. Am really happy about that. I feel I may not be able to have sex yet but my surgeon disagrees and has asked me to try. (As a single man. That's not a streighforwars task).
I cannot stress enough this has been a trial and error process. Firstly, I was doing it wrong. There is a specific method. If you purchase the specific pump for Peyronie's disease. Follow the instructions to the letter. You can find similar instructions on this site written by oldman.
Secondly use the right cylinder size. A good medical modal come with 3 cylinder sizes. A snug fit.(the smallest cylinder) has given me good results. The rest have not worked.
Am planning to continue vacuum therapy for at least another 6 months then reviw. but given these initial positive results. Surgery is increasingly on the back burner. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Regards nas.
Latest routine. Started l-lysine 3mg daily, l-proline 5mg daily. Increased vit c intake. Accompanied with almost daily vacuum therapy. Pumping to 100% Exercise caution! Made good progress. L arginine supplements and prescribed potaba are helping.

Hey mr man what device are you using for ved. I bought one off amazon and it feels too tight. Also the pump is some Chinese hunk of crap so it's not too powerful

Heat therapy
Very Physically active

I have only been trying ved. Maybe...just maybe I start to see some results. I take a medicine...Alfuzosin (for urinary tract symptoms) and it feels like my penis is in a better shape. I have also been trying to use ved for about 25 minutes each session instead of shorter sessions. The hard flaccid is much better now.

I'd consider adding traction, but it takes lots of hours unless you give restorex a try,

I'm going to order a Restorex traction device when it's possible. I live in Sweden and it's tricky to get one shipped here...especially now when the virus is roaming around.

In the meantime I will use VED. Have you had surgery?

Hello, always use medical devices specially made for Peyronie's. Here is a link to one I recommend. https://www.mypelvichealth.co.uk/en/men/erectile-penile-health/penile-curvature/

It's the one with 3 cylinders. Please do not do long sessions. Mine are only about 15 mins. Really, it's not worth overdoing it. Better to under do it and get slow results then over do it and damage your penis further.

If you've been using heavy sessions. Give your penis 1 week rest before starting a new regime. To allow any damage to re-heal.

Experiment with the different cylinders to see what works for you. I definitely will be trying different size cylinders and different techniques if progress plateaus.

If results continue to improve at there current rate. (insha'Allah). I expect to be well in about 12 months. This is a gentle marathon.

I bought a medical type ved (ErecAid): luckily got an unused second hand one so didn't spend as much money as I might have done.  This didn't even come with a silicone gasket so was difficult to get a good seal.  I later bought a relatively cheap non-medical model which did come with a gasket so this was a revelation and worked far better. This had a trigger type pump attached by a hose, which can be detached from the tube (without losing vacuum), although that might not be something you would have any need to do, and the pump has a pressure gauge. The medical model didn't have a pressure gauge.  Although I'm not sure if a gauge is a good idea to rely on as I feel it's more sensible to use your own senses, but there is a study on rats that claimed 200mmHg was optimal.  In any case, both types are of course just a tube with a vacuum pump, and the pumps in both are comparably as easy to handle or control the pressure as each other, but the medical is bigger and more top heavy so is clumsier and sort of has to be held in place more. Of course the medical one can be used with any suitable gasket , and on the positive side it feels more robust and I would guess the pump is better quality and will last longer. Some of the cheap non medical models come with a selection of different gaskets or else those can be bought separately to get one with a good fit.. They can also be had in different diameters eg. 1.75 inch; 2 inch or over seems to more common though.
I have also bought a PVC pliable pump (P3) that looks like a very silly sex toy, and didn't have great reviews, but works the best for me so far as far as getting a seal, not sure why. Probably because the gasket on this is very thick and solid.  Unfortunately I broke its valve attachment which is quite exposed and fragile, my efforts to repair didn't work and I actually bought another one. The pliability is only very slight, as it's a very thick material, but feels a bit different.
Age 57, Onset 2010, 2" shortening, shrinking and angulation of glans, weaker erections, 30 degree bend. Mild pain few months, but far from worst symptom. Tried many ideas, not just from here, but not consistently. Moderate improvement, maybe 40%

If the other non-surgical therapies are not working to your satisfaction, I would encourage you to consider Xiaflex before surgery...assuming it is not too expensive for you. I pay $90 per injection with my insurance, instead of the $2-3K it might be. So far after series of 3x2 injections, despite the pain and bruising, it is helping with my hourglass indentation, but still not close to where I was...
62YO, hourglass indent/hinging at base 30deg bend up 3cmx2cm hard plaque at dorsal base. No ED. 3 rounds Xiaflex decreased plaque/indent/hinge/bend. 1 year later, penis went from 7.5 to 5.5 in, but only 15 degree bend and no hinging.
