If I started a thread about iodine supplements this would go on for 4 pages.

And?  Add to any threads you'd like...it's how forums work...criticizing others doesn't do anything than discourage folks from participating...

With my insurance I only have about a week to find a doctor that does this or be stuck with what I have. This makes me feel desperate. I am frustrated because I know someone knows a doctor that does this method. And people only post here about stupid supplements that don't work or asinine dietary methods. Not about real answers to actual things that actually do something. For implants or surgery, this board is great. For anything else, it is practically useless. Who cares about bee pollen supplements, etc. My point is that I could post about ketogenic diet stuff and get a million responses and I ask a simple question here that I REALLY quickly need an answer to and I get crickets and it pisses me off.

Sorry for the rant, I'm not having a good day or a good time with the xiaflex. 4 rounds and squat results. I don't want an implant but nothing else is going to straighten it out. So when I hear about ultrasound guidance I hope. Even though I know how this ends.

Sorry for being a bitch. I'm just freaked out by this and by the bruising on this last shot. I'm in a lot of fear that the discoloration is permanent this time because it was a lot worse and the color is just way off and is not healing or clearing and it is making me very anxious.

Yes. Thank you. I will call them on Monday. Also, I asked Dr. Eid too. He said people don't use this method because it is too difficult to hold the ultrasound and palpate the plaque and inject the plaque at the same time.

Yea, Dr Liu doesn't use ultrasound either.  Instead he induced an injection and marks the plaque.  When it goes down he then knows precisely where to inject.

I saw Dr Lue on 2/28 and he recommended Xiaflex. 4 years ago I saw him and he said he couldn't use it- the plaques were too wide spread out. But, now he says I can use it and referred me back to Kaiser for the injections.

It's possible things might have improved on their own. The hourglass deformity disappeared in its own. Things seemed to have stabilized on their own. Used Pentox for the first year and thought it was just a joke and gave up on it, but maybe it helped. Who knows?

So, know I don't need surgery (40% risk of ED for men in my age group, 61) and Xiaflex is his recommendation. I told him "I heard Xiaflex wasn't that great and only worked in 30% of cases." He asked, "Where'd you hear that?" I said, "Off the Interessent." He asked, "And who on the Internet said that?" I said, "I don't know. Some guy." Then he said, "why do you believe everything you read on the internet?"

Well, he has a point. So, I'll give Xiaflex a try and the traction he recommended and see what happens.

One factor is having a doc w experience in administering xiaflex-dr lue does.  You're in good hands.  Be prepared as he likes to joke around as well.

Talked to the pharma company today. Nobody there knows anything about doctors that provide this. Unbelievable. So frustrating. Someone here knows. Doesn't matter. Xiaflex is useless anyway. 4 rounds. Nothing. Waste of time and 20K for me.

Ultrasound is not necessary, can induce erection and clearly mark plaque.

My doctor's PA did all of my shots. It kind of scared me at first, but he was good. There was no ultrasound done during the shot, nor did they induce an erection. My plaque was palpable.
