Gentlemen, I will be moving to St Louis in April, and have decided to get an implant ASAP after settling in my new city. Some have spoken positively about Dr Ryback(sp?) just across the river in Belleville, IL. Have any of you had him install your implant? My second choice, since he is within reach, is Levine in Chicago. He isn't on the high volume, recommended list here on the board, and I've read some negative reviews about him. Again, I am seeking all of your opinions and accounts of experiences with either doctor. Thanks! Steve

Hey Steve W. I personally don't know those surgeons, except for Dr. Levine. Have you checked online on those websites that provide medical reviews for doctors and hospitals? what about propublica, for compensations given to those particular doctors? As far as i know, nobdy here had an implant installed by those particular docs.

As I recall Dr Levine is highlyy regarded.

Pump failed.  2/11/20 Dr Karpman installed Titan 22cm +1cm RTE.

I might have missed something but the only concerns I have heard about Dr. Levine were in the area of a personality dislike by a patient or two.  Maybe a complaint that he is brief and sometimes turns you over to a PA.  He is very knowledgeable on all things penis.

I would insist on a Titan with your bend.  I would also recommend that you read a few Journals found in the index at the top of this board.  If you have any questions about implants or finding things on the forum, let us know.

St Louis does not have a reputable urologist for Peyronies (I know, I live here and have been searching for one for the forum for some time now.). Dr Levine is very highly recommended but as stated his bed side manner can be a negative but he does know Peyronies and you would be in good hands with him. I cannot speak for Dr Rybeck but if they are not on our lit of specialists make sure you do your research before choosing them.

Thanks for your replies. Your positive posts about Levine make me feel that the 300 mile journey will be very worthwhile, and provide me with a better outcome. I knew I could count on you guys.

Hey steve. Here is an informative podcast that you can listen to.

Dr. Kramer shares his thoughts on AMS vs Coloplast, and that may come in handy for you.

On Dr. Levine, I saw him early ion for my peyronies.  As Hawk mentioned he was brief and turned me over to a PA for the most intensive and painful experience of my life with those injections and recommended traction.  I felt like the survey he had was very contrived and almost meant to prove something he was trying to make a case for because he measurements didn't seem to jive with what I was seeing for myself in terms of results.  I know he's well regarded, but it may just be his personal self promotion that's giving him cred.  i wouldn't recommend him.
