Hey y'all. I'm 35 and just developing what I suspect is the early stage of Peyronies Disease.

The onset was sudden, as in just three or four days ago I noticed a slight ache in the shaft of my flaccid penis. While palpating I felt a lump somewhat in the middle of the tissue (as in inside the shaft, just above the urethra) just below the head. After a good two hours of panic, assuming I had some kind of tumor, I happened across a clinical description of what i believe is happening, which inevitably led me here. There is an obvious downward tilt during erection that wasn't there before, maybe 15 degrees, and my former slight rightward curve has apparently disappeared.

There isn't any pain during erections, only in the flaccid state, but I can tell my glans isn't as tumescent as it was, and the curvature or tilt is only obvious when viewed from the side. I've never had any injuries that I can recall, and surely a guy would notice something like that, but I did have a thrombosis about 11 years ago (fell asleep while wearing a pump, woke up "thrombosed") but that resolved in a day. I've definitely lost some length, but luckily the mass is far enough toward the end of my penis that it isn't significant. Definitely thanking the Lord above for blessing me in the first place, otherwise this would be disastrous.

Obviously I'm upset, well to be honest I'm pissed off and very scared, but this forum has already been a big help. I'm hoping to find some resources for a urologist in south/central Texas who can help without putting me in the poor house or jerking me around, as it were.

Yes, sounds like a peyronies plaque. An injury 12 years ago is probably too long for it to result in one now. But maybe you had some weakness in the same place due to it and something inflammed or cracked.. Normally the plaque/scar only shows up months or weeks after an incident. Often seemingly suddenly.

Any other health issues?(make sure to get a blood check in any case). Getting educated and making the right decisions going forward is the key. Certainly possible to restore full function.

As far as I know I haven't done anything that might cause scarring or damage, although I suppose it's possible I rolled over on a morning erection or something. I do have low blood pressure and have partially softened in the middle of sex, which if I understand correctly could damage the tissue if there was a sharp bend, but surely that would cause bruising and there hadn't been any.

Functionally it's manageable, sex hasn't been affected much, although I'm still adjusting to the angle being different, which is bothersome. The worst part is the ache, not severe but constant to the point that it's difficult to achieve erection purely by thinking about it, although I guess that's likely psychological in nature. My wife is satisfied, which is my main concern, but of course I want answers and to be sure it won't get worse. I'm going to my GP this week, hoping I can go straight to a specialist from there and get on medication.

Be careful about intercourse right now. You wouldn't run with an injured foot either ;) You need to get rid of the ache and possible inflammation. Not saying to totally avoid it but be smart about what you do. And yes, the more you stress the worse erections get usually.
Make sure you have good circulation to the area especially considering low blood pressure which might leave the area without blood for longer stretches. How? maybe more leg movement, low dose cialis,.. herbs..

If there was no incident make sure there's no underlying problem that causes small inflammation to turn into plaques. A blood check from the doc doesn't hurt to make sure.

Believe me, I've been very careful about everything since this started. I just started 1 gram of l-arginine today, just because it's recommended and easily available. Hopefully it'll do what I've read and help to stabilize the condition until I can get in to see a doctor. Seeing a doctor who can help me will probably be the highest hurdle since I live in a fairly rural area of Texas where the docs aren't known for their progressive approach to medicine. Having said that my own GP is a good guy and I can bully him if necessary.

Oh everyone in Germany is highly "progressive" and the care sucks ass ;)
In any case you should at least get a good diagnosis and some prescriptions.(as recommended throughout the forums, check it out).

I'll do what I can with over the counter meds while I'm waiting to see the doctor. Thanks for the advice. I might not sound like it but this has been a very frightening experience and these forums have already been a great help.

Downward, be sure to read the survival guide and also consider traction or VED while waiting for your doctors appointment.  https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,3180.msg44057.html#msg44057  hopefully your doc will consider pentox and low dose nightly viagra or cialis to also help remodel the plaque. Please keep us posted.

Oh damn I guess everyone here did go through that. It truly sucks but there's a lot of options to deal with it. Just be smart and educated about it. Relax, eat healthy, breath good air and keep the blood flow up but don't aggravate anything for now. The guide is good and prepares you for the doc.

That's dangerous, don't you think? Consider it onset days ago:

He has pain:

So stretching on his penis with any force seems contra-productive right now. It's like telling someone who broke his leg to stretch it out.

Try light traction or VED and see how it goes.  Before hand take ibuprofen for pain, maybe even voltaren gel to reduce acute phase pain.

So a brief update on a curious (possible) result: I just started taking the l-arginine yesterday, for a total of ~2 grams so far, and woke up this morning without any aching at all. I realize this could just be coincidence, or wishful thinking, but I wanted to mention it. I should also mention that I'm not usually susceptible to suggestion or the placebo effect (that is, I'm not one of those people who can self hypnotize out of a headache or whatever) and OTC meds don't normally help this quickly.

Very strange.

Good. Keep doing what works. Be aware that this is often a condition in flux.
